Sorry pal, but you dont just shove the artists into the coding and whatnot. Everyone has their specialties, and they continue doing bugfixing even as new content is added. If they stopped adding new content we'd have just as many people complaining about that as we do about the bugs. You signed up for an alpha, and that's what you got. If you don't want to play, that's fine, but don't complain, constructive criticism if fine, but just flat out whining is not okay.

I found my first yesterday with my friend, we drove for awhile headed towards Green Mountain, sadly we ran out of gas, and shortly after we were ambushed by a bunch of (what seemed like) dupers. I managed to escape, but my friend got shot and killed :/ So back to the coast I go on my search for him.

I love the idea, other than the "Original Lockpick is a key" part :P Doors absolutely need to be a little more resistant to these weapons xD

Once the devs add the beginning of stealth it won't be too complicated as a fresh spawn. You could just avoid them, or sneak up behind one and whack it right in the head. Just gotta wait till then, but since it's not here yet, just "Run Forest Run" -
I get where you're coming from, no worries xD But a change of perspective as I stated before would be helpful. The people before shiz hit the fan had just enough to scrape by, which would explain more than just the missing luxuries (i.e. couches, plumbing, showers, etc.), it would explain the lack of supplies (With the theory that it hasn't been too long since the apocalypse started. This is all really a matter of what lore you believe in :P

Welcome to the forums pal xD Tip: Get Rags, Get Sticks, Make Splint, Fix Leg! (Woah, the complicated process is too complex) Also, you probably would be bleeding by the time you're leg is broken, just don't bandage if you wanna bleed out. Oh and suicide animations are in the works (Good news for you!) For now just crawl onto a rock, you'll be back on the coast in no time, ready to break those handy legs again no problem! Good luck and keep warm (Or in your case keep your legs from snapping)

I just want you to change your perspective for a moment. Take into consideration this country could have been going through a serious economic crisis (And to be honest that wouldn't be too strange). People might not have been able to afford plumbing, they might not of been able to afford "elegant" bathrooms and they might not of had much space for beds in certain rooms, as they might've served other purposes in their lives. I don't think many buildings should have these "Luxuries", not in the current setting of the world. We know close to nothing about the state in which the country was in before the apocalypse (Mostly due to the fact that this is a fictional location, even if based off of a real place). We know nothing of how those people lived. Just go with what you've got, and make up lore to match.

Well damn, have you heard of stuffing the "meat" in the trunk, I mean jesus have some class! But yeah that'd be fun to do either way. I just wanna be able to hang my human meat like the pigs they are.

IS THIS A NEW THING!? I am running out of pants...
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to harley001's topic in General Discussion
What about your gun, your memories, your food, your shirt, YOUR LIFE? Do you not care enough to enjoy what they leave you, enjoy that little gift sir, as much as it may seem you're getting robbed, your actually being gifted a godly experience of life, and how quickly it could be taken (The pants represent life). They present before you a metaphor. -

I love the part where you ask if you're "That unlucky" No sir, you're the luckiest man alive, to only be robbed of your pants is a blessing, not a curse. -
Dude don't you get it? He's the next generation super-zombie and you forgot to shoot the head!

Not played for a long while......

My last (And mind you my VERY LAST one) I had three guys with me go up there to try and hear these infamous broadcasts. When we arrived, we realized the radio was ruined... Coincidence? I THINK NOT. Next, after looting the place (Who doesn't want some good haunted goodies) my friend's legs just randomly gave out on him. Bug you say? Nay, it is Green Mountain's warning. So we put a bullet through him, no risks shall be taken, we took what we could, and left. Later that night our friend found us again and we think he was possessed for he started screaming some gibberish and tried killing us when we handed him a gun. I swear Green Mountain is cursed -
survivor visual changes and an extra animation and trade

Why thank you for coming to my side of reasoning xD But because it wouldnt have an effect on someone who was doing a legit trade (Both ends), but it wouldn't restrict the (However small) player base that would attempt that robbery. Why choose Majority Safe over Majority Free in a game based AGAINST safety and FOR FREEDOM. It just doesn't make sense cx -

xD I guess I'll bring up my argument again then. I'm not saying that the window is a generally bad idea, it just wouldn't fit, being that their isn't enough risk in it. In reality, the hand swap technique usually works fine, however sometimes when doing this, someone could easily quickly nab the thing your holding, and after taking it, book it. Yes, you could shoot at them typically, however they just robbed you, and you wouldn't want to ruin what they took, so either take the risk or don't. In game however, without the hand swap, you just do the drop and cycle technique, and again with this technique you have that inherited risk of getting robbed, which wouldn't happen with the window. Yes, a window would absolutely make things easier for a friendly, but it would make things completely unfair for a thief. In the idea of not "restricting freedom of choice" and of risks (which in a way is what DayZ is about), a trade window just wouldn't fit. -

Fair points on the trading (Which is all that I'll be discussing since we've reached a common ground on the whole beard thing) however, in real life we don't have "Trade Windows" either, kind of making your argument cave in on itself. The main reason I'd like to stick with the "Drop and cycle" type of trading instead of a preset trade window is solely due to the risk. With a trade window, it's a surefire trade (Not necessarily meaning you'll survive, just that the trade will without a doubt go through properly) which doesn't make much sense when in reality you could easily rob someone in a trade (An example being grabbing the item from their hand and running), which is best simulated through the traditional route of trading (imo). Counterargument? -
What do you think about my promotion video
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to TuranArek's topic in Gallery
Nice effort, but I'd refrain from using the term "Friends" in a group like this, because rivalries do show up amongst people, even if they share a common goal/name. Find something more official, as to not mislead newcomers into thinking it's going to all be laughs and giggles (Not literally, just meaning friendly) between players. :) -
From the idea that "This is the apocalypse yada yada yada" this argument would require us knowing the actual lore behind DayZ and what caused the apocalypse, which we don't know other than fan-based speculations. On the other hand, this would give us a reason for the gas mask and respirator masks other than to look cool/like a badass. I like the idea, and it'd make some pretty cool scenarios, like what if a Zed breaks your mask in the middle of one of these storm cloud things.

Hmm, when he said accelerated time I originally thought of hitting a FF button so you're character and everything happens faster, my bad ;)

Alrighty, as for the whole beard system goes, love it, it'd show the "Vets" from the "Newbs" but you should have the option to shave it, and to turn the system off completely imo. Also, how would this work with female models? As for the dirtying system, I'm all for it too, as long as done properly. You should be able to clean yourself off, and you shouldn't be drenched in mud from walking 3 miles. It would have to take time, and you should be able to splash some water on yourself (Be it from a pond, bottle, well, etc.) without "Soaking" yourself and freezing your arse off. Finally, for the trading system, absolutely not. Nothing should be "secure". You have to take a risk when trading something with someone in reality, why not in a game. Just drop your items at your feet, and circle around and grab them. If you don't trust the trade, don't do it. If they try robbing you (And succeed, bad on you) then just deal with the pest. Keep in mind these are my opinions, no need to get that aggro on me ;) -
Just a tip, you can combine maps as to not take up more inventory space (NE+NW=N, S+N=Whole Map, W+E=Whole Map, Etc.) Also, those city names ARE in English, the English translation of their Russian Counterparts. What they should do is have the cities in Russian names (Since ya know, the language they're using is Russian [This is my assumption, correct me if I'm wrong]) that way we can match them to the corresponding signs on the actual roads and such, giving the map much more purpose. GPS's were also a part of the mod, and a good one in my opinion. They should be rare as say your good ole range finder, but possible to locate, and should require batteries to operate. Finally we can know if we're in Cherno or some random new city! ;) (Fun Fact: What I said is in relevance to all my newbie friends who say they're in Cherno/Electro EVERYTIME they're in a city)

I never liked the idea of full structure building. I mean what's the point when all you have to do is find a shack in the woods and slap some wood on the doors and windows. You just don't build whole structures in the apocalypse, and if we're going for authenticity think of how complicated it is to build a functional building. Like good luck with that one, especially if you have no knowledge on how to do it xD You should be able to make a little shack (Similar to a tent, but a little more structurally sound and not as mobile), fences, barricades, etc. But if you intend on building me a new Wal-Mart just go quit now xD
