DayZ Standalone Or Arma 2 DayZ mod?
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to PinoyRiceShop's topic in New Player Discussion
Kinda sums it up, but my personal opinion is I prefer the SA. I just love testing things, I love the whole idea behind it, and I like the customization. Just me c: -
First 100 minutes of Gameplay
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to DuplexGamer1234's topic in New Player Discussion
Pretty good list, and I can't wait for some new features (i.e world containers) to be added, and I'm fairly certain it's planned. Oh and question for others, as I haven't played in awhile due to DayZ not working for me ;-; (Gots me a new PC for Christmas, so I'll probably get it to run there) but do we still have that generic Arma 2 bird sound? Oh and which ladders aren't you able to climb? Most seem to work for me, other than miniature undersized elf ladders, or the broken ones :P Edit: Welcome to DayZ and the forums :D -
What has been your biggest "I'm done" moment?
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to aquamonkey's topic in General Discussion
When I spent hours trying to find my friend out in the countryside, and when we finally get close, and I'm watching him from the woods, I see him get shot down.... -
Anyway to make netting or burlap strips pristine
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to pissedoff88's topic in General Discussion
Well I'm sorry to hear about you're problems you've got there, but that doesn't really tie in to this. DayZ isn't reality, hell use it as an escape if need be. And yeah, exploitation is a part of life, but no one ever said it was a good one. Just try giving the game a shot on playing how it should be (Touchy subject as this is supposed to be about freedom of choice and whatnot, but I think you get the gist of what I'm saying) and either deal with the fact your netting isn't looking as pretty or go find some new bits. -

Conrad_The_Comrade replied to pissedoff88's topic in General Discussion
I don't think so, but here's a quick suggestion: Play the game legitimately. It makes the game much more fun than exploiting bugs to fix your gear which was broken (or in your case worn down) by legit reasons. The whole purpose of having objects getting damaged was to make sure they well, get damaged. Plus having something worn is nothing, try getting it ruined. -
I do hate the fact that lights don't work well as lights. However I think this is all going to get touched on when we get that new renderer (Or so goes the hope).
-
I don't see where the whole "CoD" thing comes in here. Murderers are going to be Murderers either way, and barely anyone is going to become a Murderers because they can prop a weapon. Plus, look at it from the other perspective, those people who aren't out for your head have a better chance at surviving an attack using this if it becomes a feature. Finally, just for authenticity's sake I think it'd be a good addition, after all that is what DayZ is shooting for.

Ahh, okay xD

Yeah, however I don't think civilians would be prepared for anything like that xD And since we aren't military personnel, I don't see any of us doing this :P

Once Vehicles become persistent.. a discussion
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
In my opinion, if you can manage to hoard a bunch of vehicles, props to you. Especially once they're not ready to go as soon as you find them. -
That's great, I mean uhh, terrible! xD Did he ever run into yall's roadblock?
-
They've already attempted at making backpacks, and everything for that matter, persistent. What they're working on however is loot degradation, that way you can physically see your backpack (For example) getting worn down, because a backpack sitting out in the woods wouldn't fair too well in the long run. As of now, you can drop your items on the ground (If on a persistent server) and they'll stay there for a good long while, but be wary to mess with the items, because if not, they disappear in a couple days (I'm not sure on the exact duration they last). Once they add item degradation, you'll be able to physically see the items on the ground get worn down, so you'll know when they'll become junk (Also, once items are ruined, the ruined item would disappear after a bit, or so goes the plan)..
-
Perfectly said. Even if we don't have a "stamina" system for our marathon runners of DayZ, at least we can't run on an overly stuffed stomach xD
-
They're pretty common in major cities, that's all I know. I've yet to go to a major city and not find one there

Was Your Player Swiped?
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to therandomredstone's topic in General Discussion
Swiper No Swiping, Swiper No Swiping, SWIPER NO SWIPING!!! (Cough, nail'd it) -
Depends from person to person I'd think. Some people just bought the game cause it was what everyone else has, but didn't like it (For whatever reason) and I don't think those guys will be back, however people who are honestly frustrated with just bugs, but still like the idea behind the game, yeah, they'll be back, these people always come back. They just can't resist :D

Well first is first... Have you gotten hurt? Losing blood tends to give this effect xD

0.52 - Pile of Guts/Intestines! - What do you think it will be used for?
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to Nonapona2's topic in Gallery
I shall use my newly gathered "Pile of Guts" to throw at my foes in an attempt to ward them off. If this fails, I shall use my Pile of Guts to form a demon summoning circle to summon Lilith who shall smite them in the name of all things Unholy. Edit: After actually watching the video and seeing the fact you can use it for "food", I shall stuff it down all the throats of those who stand in my path of glory -
New Slice Throat Animation. Random Geared guy in Elektro ends his life. Gruesome.
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to twig (DayZ)'s topic in Gallery
OMG. I agree, best patch ever. But OMG, best suicide animation ever. And OMG he committed suicide ;-; -
Ahem, think 28 Days Later not The Walking Dead :P Cause we all know thats what everyone bases this off of nowadays

Try going through your computer and delete everything that has to do with BattleEye (for DayZ if you can), then try accepting the terms and reinstalling it.

A few thoughts to mull over: incentives/skills/kos
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to gcriseightysix's topic in Suggestions
Even though this has been discussed a lot, I still support it to some degree. I love the physical appearance idea, like love it to death xD But "skills" must be handled very carefully and make sure this feature couldnt be abused (By say someone just shooting randomly or someone lighting random fires over and over.) As long as it's done right, and nothing like a skill tree is added, them I'm all for it. -
Quick Suggestion - Slightly more realistic clothes! Yay!
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to MarkAdbass's topic in Suggestions
It'd be cool I suppose, but you're little "Example Advert" wouldn't be enough for me to buy the game ;) Although who doesn't love a good ole animation for our masks xD -
Where are the military tents?!
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to maninthewall's topic in General Discussion
^ Don't server hop. Servers hoppers are just as bad as dupers or hackers or exploiters of any kind in my opinion :l
