Anybody here rent servers from MPGS?
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to Weyland Yutani (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Bear with me for a moment, as I know NOTHING about renting servers and the details that come along with it.... Server providers or whatever they are can control what you do with your server with so much power as to control how you manage the time your server is set in???? I thought they just like, got the server up for you once you paid them or something... Geez -
I had been pretty fairly geared, no guns or anything fancy, but I had a nice firefighter jacket, rags, a pickaxe, cargos, the basics. I was sneaking around, and this guy yells out to me, and he's being tailed by one of the zeds. I told him to dump the thing on me and get inside the building, and I took care of the thing for him. Of course that wasn't the end of it, another 2 showed up, he ran outside to help, started bleeding in the process, and I bandaged him up. Found out he's a pretty funny guy, I gave him a hatchet to fight with, a spare jacket, and we went on our way together for a bit, till we got split up at the nearest town.

Lootable containers & Realistic loot placement
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to LackLustreSurvivor's topic in Suggestions
I like the idea of having more realistic loot spawn locations. I hate finding a hammer in the kitchen and peaches in some shed in the woods. I mean of course the occasional random item is fine, but we still need some organization here... -
Tents have now become more important than ever
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to nudelwalker's topic in General Discussion
I'm wondering the same, I was close to setting up a little camp with a pal of mine, but sadly on our adventure for water (I was about to start dying from dehydration) I had managed to climb onto some invisible rocks on the side of a hill and die. So I lost my tent, and my SKS with 100 rounds ;-; And worst of all, I had finally gotten my firefighter uniform. I had all of the uniform, it was beautiful. Stupid rocks.... -

Forgot to multiquote this with my last one, so my bad on that one. Now, see the thing is about this, it's quite obvious you were just being sarcastic with the whole "Forgive me...." bit, and sure, I get it, you didn't agree with what I had to say. And normally, that'd be fine, but when you go and start bringing up topics with which you know not the first thing about (i.e. my personal life), you sound like an enraged 8 year old. I'd like to tell you this, that I do in fact have a life outside of DayZ. I do see the light of day, and all that comes with that. But enough of all that, if you have an actual reason to argue with me, feel free to say it, otherwise don't get your panties in a bunch. -

All very fair points, and I can respect that people play as they please. Even more so that I'm trying out some more restricted communities so I need not play/interfere with those who play like that. For me DayZ is about just the hardcore survive as long and best as possible, doing whatever it takes to do so, yada yada. -

You're absolutely right of course, no one can say how to play the game, it's about freedom of choice after all. And don't get me wrong, I love the RP spin you approached that at, but why would a militia group or whatever be out with a flashlight, sneakers, a tee, and plain jeans during an outbreak of the magnitude it is. I get you're RP'ing out why you know what you know, but you must admit, it's still illogical. If your characters are all part of a militia, and all part of the same outbreak, how come they all show up at the camp at completely different times, and JUST showed up on the coast. I get this is a debatable topic, but I don't intend on keeping it going for too long :p You do you, I'll do me c: -

Forgive me for being disrespectful, but if you EVER return anywhere you stored stuff in a past life/old character, you're just flat out awful. Treat your characters like separate people, different lives, different memories, etc. If you return to a corpse or camp or whatever, or something similar, ugh, just no. Dont. -
Depends on your PoV I'd think. Compared to the old zeds, we take a ton more damage, and theirs no real way not to get it like before (Other than avoiding entirely), but hey, I actually LIKE that they're stronger. It's not like the game is impossible, just a challenge now. Don't be stupid and you don't die, usually.

I'm having the same issue as number 5 there, haven't experienced number 4, and yeah, zombies are a wee bit broken when they fly at you at what seems to be supersonic speed. But hey, they're easier to manage than my mother... ;) (Ha ha)

they killed DayZ for me and many others
Conrad_The_Comrade replied to Axezeroone's topic in General Discussion
Obviously as you said, you are playing stable branch. Switch over to Exp for a bit, because it isn't nearly as broken as what you are describing sounds (I haven't played stable in ages). Zombies are a hassle, and loot spawns are broken (Mainly due to the fact "rarity items haven't been tagged" or however it was put, so they spawn illogically, but you can manage to survive. Weapons are there, not the greatest, but there, food can be found (Yet it's no where near as flooded, which makes the game hard, but it's possible.). Overall Exp sounds like a much better experience as of now. Now on another note, the devs mentioned that persistence is no longer an option, and food respawn is not on, however it will be activated with the next stable branch push. You musn't forget that you are a tester as of now, not a player, and you signed up for an impartial, broken, instable, fraction of a game, you did NOT buy a game. Stable branch is still very much part of testing, it's just designed to not have any new functions/features/items/etc. introduced to it without those being plausible. Edit: Forgot to mention one final thing, the game is not going to be an easy game when it's a finished product, the intent is to be a hardcore survival, but hopefully you knew that xD -
I say eat them raw, tasty that way ;)
-
Just a heads up, if they've not done this already, they plan on enabling persistence on every server, no longer an option, however food respawn will be/is off. Sooooo, that said, you'll have to move further and further inland and at some point survive off the land till .56 is released to stable. Another tip, avoid zombies as best as possible, take it super slow, and use ranged weapons when necessary, remember, your life is worth more than your ammo.
-
I'm for it in the case of hardcore servers, or an option server owners can choose to activate or not, because face it, we all like having options

Now if only you weren't really dead and your friend shot himself moments before you woke up... cx
-
You're my fav just cause of the Julius Caesar quote, you're the best xD
-
You can actually induce a heart attack by using the defib on someone when the don't need it. It'll mess up the heart rate, and inevitably kill them. Did it to a friend once xD (Accidentally.... just like I accidentally fed another one gasoline.... and shot the next... all accidents I promise.)

It's technically noooot Russia, it's a fictional country that has roots similar to Russia, but I get what you're saying, and I'd suggest loading up a picture and whatnot for us lazy bums who wanna see the gun, but without the "work". But hey, I'm all for new weapons that fit.

So, do you guys think I did enough? Did I pass the test?

Did I Pass Lumberjack Initiation?

It'd be cool to have a megaphone too, especially since it's a tad more modern :P

Some people enjoy certain things, and certain ways about going through things. Some people just have certain knowledge, some people might like to RP an Ex-Mil type. Just because someone is different gives you no right to go and bash and disrespect them. If you don't like it, that's fine, but expressing that like this is just wrong.
