I just think the humanity system should go away forever. There's no way to tell who's a "bad man" in real life, so why should there be here?

[Standalone] Severe weather (No disasters)
CreepySalad replied to thecrystalghost's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I think rain should be common. They're near Russia, right? -
I like it. If the medical system is being revamped, they should add this and splints, along with wheelchairs and crutches. Morphine would speed it up, (the healing), but there would be a chance of addiction. Splints and rest would do the same, but without addiction, and the speed of morphine. Also, get rid of that prone thing when your leg breaks. Maybe you fall, but are able to get up and limp away. Slowly , but faster than crawling. Crutches speed up limping speed slightly, wheelchairs speed up movement speed a lot, but are unable to go through rough terrain, and lower the amount of fatigue you suffer from. yiss~

Choose body shape of avatar
CreepySalad replied to ZealousStealthSlayer's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I like this one. In actuality, there are little benefits to being overweight. Maybe you'd be slightly warmer? I dunno. But besides that, there are no benefits. It'd be cool for you to have to watch your diet. -
There's voice chat in the game. Communication can take up for body shape. There should be no reason you don't know who's friend or foe. Well, if you don't communicate, maybe? Maybe it was a simple mistake. It could happen.

Weapon Damage table changes.
CreepySalad replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Depends where it hits still. You don't HAVE to take a bullet out. It's done all the damage it can. It's no longer burning hot, or going through your body, so it does no more harm. Though I'll agree with you on the bandage thing. -
Having a giant GUI menu saying "HEY, MAKE BUDDIES HERE, AND PUT GIANT ARROWS OVER THEIR FOREHEADS" isn't an option we have in real life either. It also isn't immersing, or enhancing gameplay. Knowing where people are outside of your vision doesn't make up for the sense of feeling. We don't have spatial awareness that allows us to know where someone near us is 100% of the time. A big part of the game is being unsure about your surroundings, and this would get rid of this HUGE important part of the game. Realism helps.

I was thinking of instead of a pre-determined time limit before you're free, there should be something you can do based on how well the kidnapper tied you. Or no leg ties, and you need someone else to untie you. Or leg ties, and you need someone else to untie you. I think I like that. Needing someone else to untie you. I know people are going to say "that's not fair to loners!!", but, in a zombie apocalypse, nothing would be fair for loners. You'd have less resources and guns. Less firepower. Less defense. Less ideas. Yeah, you need less than a group. That's a benefit, but besides that, you're fucked. It wouldn't be the worst, as you'd probably starve to death if the kidnappers neglect to feed you, or you could convince someone to let you free. Or you could get a deus ex machina go down, and someone come out of no where to save you. I think there should be options during a kidnap situation. Like, Struggle (gives you a chance of escaping) Bite Tounge (suicide. makes you bleed out.) And like, a few different types of ties. Rope Cable Tie Handcuffs I dunno.

There's an awful lot of "THE NEW UPDATE'S TOO HAAAAAAARDD~" It's not even like, broken hard. It's slightly more difficult.

DayZ Suggestion (Small Ingame Stories 'Easter Eggs?')

Yeah, I was mentioning this a while back. I think this would be a great addition to the game. -
Bonus for long term Survivors Suggestion
CreepySalad replied to wireworld's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I wouldn't mind the whole "if you get sick, you are more resistant to it" thing. I DO mind, the "if you play nice/survive long, you get the ability to fly". Humanity and survival bonuses should not be in this game. The bonus is knowledge. -
please go No. Can you telepathically communicate in real life? Can you see where someone is outside of your vision in real life? No, right? Precisely. The only way to keep a group organized is to COMMUNICATE. Believe it or not, when you plan ahead, or talk to your groupmates, you'll be able to work with them. Shocking.

[SA] Now for something completely different
CreepySalad replied to Ghass2's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Music is a part of the game. Your suggestions don't fit with the DayZ's feel, and no one's will. That's up to the creators. -
I don't think these scripted event things should happen. I think everything that happens should be the cause of the players. Like ArmA. Players load up a helicopter, they try to fly to Utes, only to be shot down by a sniper. They'd crash, and players nearby would see, and hear the copter crash violently, killing all passengers, but allowing others to go to it and loot it. I think all events should be by players, not by a script.
-
I disagree. The point of this game is to pretty much FORCE people to adapt in a different environment. Just like in real life, there's no easy mode. That should be the case with Day Z. It SHOULD be hard to survive, and it SHOULD be hard to battle zombies. That's the point of the game. Not to make casual players happy. Casual players SHOULD be extremely uncomfortable as they adapt to the mechanics of the game.

The only reason I prefer the NEO Scavenger system is because it has a lot more variables. Such as worrying if the bandages will get filthy, and cause an infection, if you know botony, you can use plants to heal burns and stuff. It doesn't tell you what you have to do, or what would be ideal. I didn't know you could make splints until my 5th time dying.
-
I really like NEO Scavenger's damage and inventory system, and I'd think they'd fit well with Day Z. http://www.diygamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/74ebscreenshot-2012-07-23.png

SUGGESTION: Alcohol, and how it would effect gameplay.
CreepySalad replied to Filipino-Hooker's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Someone else suggested this as well, and I began to think of other benefits it could bring. Maybe it temporarily makes you warm, but causes you to get colder faster. Rather than taking, let's say 20 minutes to get kinda cold, it would take 10 to get dangerously cold. If melee combat is added, it could make your fists more efficient. I dunno. -
Audio/Music adjustments; creating an ear-joyable atmosphere.(Standalone)
CreepySalad replied to TIC's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I turn on my own music. I like being immersed in the atmosphere, so I play fitting albums. I didn't mind the little ambiance noises at first, but they quickly got old. I like this idea. Music is one of my main ways to be immersed in an environment, as they bring about strong emotional feelings. Though, if 90% of players disable music and the like, this suggestion should be of low priority. Though I do think it should be implemented. -

Or...You know... The people who make the game could do it. Considering that they, you know...make the game.
