No to the flamethrower, but everything else is A-OK. -

Spawn in random buildings/houses around the map
CreepySalad replied to Trunk Yeti's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I like the idea of spawning in different places and being dressed accordingly. It would be cool if it wasn't in buildings specifically, but maybe spawning near a crashed car in civilian clothing, or spawning near a ruined boat in...whatever sailors wear now. -
They just need to fix the lighting system for the whole flashlight thing to work. A flashlight doesn't work like it does in game. It sucks. If it were to be more realistic (lighting-wise) I wouldn't have a problem playing in the dark. In fact, I would love it. But the lighting system as of now is... Ew.

Optional team based friendly fire.
CreepySalad replied to whiteboy greg's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
No, we're bashing your idea. We're not on a high horse. This game is supposed to provide the tension of a zombie apocalypse. Adding teams removes this tension. So what if it's server optional? More people will play on those servers rather than the servers that portray what the game was meant to be played like. This removes from the game. Stop being a whiney man-child. -
W...what?

Arma2 + DayZ Historical Lore 1.2
CreepySalad replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I like this idea. I was thinking like, little stories to follow. Sorta like Dark Souls, but without characters to hint you out. Just papers, pictures, messages, bodies, etcetera, etcetera. If we add cameras and notes and stuff, we won't need what I just mentioned, though. We can follow the stories of other players who documented their adventure. Anyway, yeah, your idea is cool . -
Calm down. These are ideas, after all. It's not like the lore isn't subject to change. Anyway, yeah, it'll make people come together, preventing that "deathmatch with zombies" feeling. It'd also just be really interesting. No cure, though. Otherwise there wouldn't be zombies. Or at least make it one per server. I was following War Z, and they were saying that a cure would be implemented. I was kinda upset. Anyway, if this is added, there should be a low chance. (I was thinking only when you're bitten? 30/70?) And there should be no cure. That'd remove tension.

I like the idea of zombies being a HUGE danger. I don't want special zombies or controllable zombies, but turning into a zombie when bitten by one would be really cool. It'll make people think twice about firing their guns, or running into a town. I also like the reanimation thing, where your body comes back with all of your old stuff. This way, you can't just waltz over to the location your body was, and loot it. The immunity to the zombie outbreak seems kinda...eh, considering that there are usually 20+ people on a server, and how small the giant playground is. It's hard to explain. I hope you got it.

Player Skill. (This is not a leveling thread).
CreepySalad replied to CreepySalad's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Yeah, it's pretty much the same now. If you knew something before you died, you don't forget it. And you use that to your advantage. If you died by a sniper, you know where they are and if you should avoid them or not. And you know where all the good loot is, where a camp you may have found was, where a vehicle you saw was, etcetera, etcetera. It's about the player's experience. Not the character's. -
I think allowing people to free draw the tag would be kinda cool. Yeah, there'd be hella dicks, but EVERY DICK WOULD BE DIFFERENT. IMAGINE! BIG DICKS, SMALL DICKS, THIN DICKS, THICK DICKS DICKS No, it'd add authenticity. Every tag would be different, and some would be vulgar. Just like real life. With no rule against it, the magic of dicks would wear off eventually.

Optional team based friendly fire.
CreepySalad replied to whiteboy greg's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Gives me a mad face. Like when I saw Dark Souls II would be "more straightfoward", I got upset. And when seeing these kinda suggestions, I get kinda upset. Like leveling and exp and stuff. I really hope Rocket doesn't try to pander to casuals. This isn't a game for casuals. It will never be. Hopefully. Please don't let it be. -
Perma-identity. Nickname is permanent. Nickname as face. Cover face - conceal nickname.

Totally brilliant. Would add a new aspect to the game to simulate the hesitation that a person would feel before murdering someone. This is 10/10 -

please stop what are you even saying -
I agree with the flashlight thing. Your guy all of a sudden gets noodle arms and flails them around like he's Kermit the Frog as soon as you press W. They should fix that, moonlight, and the way flashlights work period. Flashlights don't shine a single linear beam of light that makes things inside the 3 inch circle of light yellow. Light bounces off of stuff, and a flashlight would allow you to see a whole room pretty much. Not 3 inches of the room.

It runs those games on lower settings. Far Cry 2 looks better at it's highest settings than Far Cry 3 looks on consoles. You guys don't seem to understand the hardware and limitations a console has.

Oops. Uh, sorry. I'm on my phone.

Yeah, zombies aren't real. But the point of this game is to put them in a realistic environment. "Let's add unicorns! ...What do you mean 'they're not realistic?' ...neither are zombies!" That's a terrible argument. Never use it again.

nono, It should be about player skill and knowledge. Not character skill and knowledge. I acknowledged this in a previous post. Unless, of course you were joking. In that case, it was a good one. -

Yeah, I was thinking the the UI wouldn't be all odd and out of place or anything. Just like, an arm if that's what you're operating on for example. Think a more difficult, stressful, and real time Amateur Surgeon. -

No, I'm saying reply on player knowledge and skill. Not player character skill. I hate the idea of exp in a game like Day Z. -

Ah, not if they have variety. If done correctly, it would bring a lot more tension to the game. Imagine having someone in your group shot, but having no one to tend to it correctly. If a better damage system was implemented, they could get an infection, which could possibly lead to death. As I said, this would add a new gameplay element that could prevent the kill on sight attitude. Being shot would be a lot more dangerous, and people out there know different things. If you're a bandit with a broken car, but have no one to fix it, you -
How about not allowing zombies to spawn indoors, and add barricades. Improvisation really would add to the game. So that way there wouldn't be a "safe" status. You secure the building yourself, and if any zombies notice your presence, they'll attack the barricades to get to you. Kablam!
