I was playing with some friends when the server crashed. We joined another one, but we all had to wait 600 seconds even if we only joined this server after 2 MINUTES. Why isn't the 30 second thing working anymore?

I just lost 4 hours of gear with my friend because we got KOS'd at the NEAF by some guys inside that glitch room. We lost everything. But I don't care because we had fun. I also laughed my ass off, though...

I'm glad you did not make a "OH IT HAS NO CARS, ITS UNFINISHED, ITS BUGGY, I KNOW ITS ALPHA BUT ITS BUGGY" thread. Just as Enforcer said, bandits are a part of the game, but KOSers aren't. REAL bandits will tell you to drop your shit and take you hostage, that's what bandits should be. Thankfully I did meet some bandits that take you hostage, and I'll tell you, if they are good bandits it can be FUN. REALLY FUN. Don't lose faith on SA, dude. It has so much potential, just have patience.

Zombies are still bugged but they do respawn. Barely. They are going to add physics soon, at least throwing shit around. They added a new city up north of Berezino and changed others. New pistols and some new guns (SKS and other pistols)

This is a simple idea. When you look at an item and you press the middle mouse buttom, you just pick it up and the item disappears, why not a little "Picking up animation"? Just your character extending your arm and reaching over to the item. The animation can be like the one when you force feed someone, but without the item on your hand. Don't know if it's possible or even useful. Just a simple idea.

You mean picking up using the inventory? Ah yes, I thought about that, maybe we should also use ARMA III as an example, because you don't have the picking up animation on ARMA III when using the vicinity. So maybe use it when you are not in your inventory.

Yes, If I'm not mistaken, there is a "picking up" animation on ARMA III, they could get that.

Considering giving up on DayZ?

Whatever you do, do not give up. DO NOT GIVE UP. I have a friend who bought DayZ and when he realised that he was lost, he just gave up on the game and ignored all of my tips and advices, and then I realised that he was just looking for military gear and big guns to kill people just like when he played the WarZ. Just... use DayZDB or learn the map by yourself or whatever, but continue playing! Some times you might find yourself with no gear, dying and lost, but that's ok, that's good, you gotta keep trying, don't go in-land to early, stay on the coast. find at least some supplies like a can of food and a bottle of water, get an axe or a wrench, survive. One day you will (If you don't give up), probably, find yourself doing some RP surviving, keeping low and crawling through whole citties with your gun, then, at the end, you climb a hill, sit next to a tree and just look at the view, eating your cans and getting ready for the next adventure. That's what I do. Don't give up, DayZ has SO MUCH to offer. If you need any help or have any questions, just ask here and we will answer. (Also, look out for other survivors, some might be cool, but there are some dicks out there. :D)

So I have an interesting story to share with you guys. I lost my geared character by KOS (Obviously) and so I spawned in again, got some gear and I found a hacksaw, it was pristine and I discovered that you could use as a weapon, and I did! After a few minutes I saw a fresh spawn running on the coast... towards me. He stood still and tried to punch me (Obviously)... So I ran around him for a few minutes, doing some funny poses while running... But I decided to just kill him. I stop running at the right time and started hitting him with the hacksaw, I hit him at least 7 times... He hits me 4 times and I'm knocked out. ...What? 2 minutes later I woke up... And he took everything I had, he only left my hacksaw (I don't know why)... But I wanted revenge! I was in Berezino and I saw a few zombies running towards that construction site... He was there. I ran as fast as I could and I found the fucker... and I ran after him for a few minutes, talked to him, pretty nice guy, actually. But a dick as a DayZ Player. Anyway, I ran after him and it turns out he had a friend in the hospital, so I had to fight them both... Easy enough, they were both new to the game, I obviously had way more experience than them since I play DayZ since 2012... I should be able to kill them. I hit them both dozens of times with my hacksaw... nothing. They took absolutely no damage at all from a HACKSAW. TO THE CHEST. And obviously they killed me, because the hacksaws in this game are made out of plastic and won't do anything even if I hit them in the EYE... Now, It seems to me that the only good melee is the hatchet and the fire axe. EVERYTHING ELSE does no damage at all, and I don't know why. Is that a bug or...?

But I would think that a hacksaw would cut them and at least make them bleed, and I hit them a lot, all over the chest and head. I think hacksaws are sharper than fingers.

So now you know what I do, right? You obviously know how I play. On DayZMod I would ALWAYS join high pop servers, I didn't like low pop ones because it was just no fun, and yet no hackers. On DayZ Standalone I don't join High Pop Servers because there is simply nothing to do, on a full server there is no loot, so you can't really do anything, I try to join servers with 20-25 players. ... And why did you have to be so mean to me? ;-;

Yeah, we are not allowed to send Links to Hacks, even if it's a video, most of them have download links. But other than that, I think you are unlucky, I believe that I have over 1000 hours on DayZ Mod and almost 100 on DayZ Standalone and, trust me, not one single hacker found. I just found a few on DayZ Mod but they rarely did anything to me.

Thank God, I'm not alone in this world. Maybe we're SUPER lucky or people are over exaggerating, either way, I didn't encounter many hackers on DayZ Mod but I did hear some people complaining about players not dying or just using Aim Bot, but I always logged off and joined another server, hackers only did anything to me on WarZ... Like... All the time.

I think... I think I'm not normal. I have HUNDREDS of hours on DayZ MOD and 80+ hours on DayZ SA and I have only ran into two hackers (Both on the mod). I'm not even joking, I NEVER had any problems with hackers, these only two times I just logged off once I saw them and joined another server. Am I real?

Gentleman, let's not keep this going any further. He is just butthurt because he bought the game and thought it was complete. I did see people saying they wanted their money back because the game was unfinished. Well, guess what? No fucking shit it isn't. I bought the game soon as it released and I was happy as fuck when I saw that it wasn't a "WarZ Alpha" type of game. With the game crashing every 5 minutes. And I was surprised that it ran better than ARMA II. Not even kidding. Let's just stop this now and let the rustled jimmies flow through his body, as he stays in the corner for mean kids. You shall not disrespect our Lord and Saviour Dean Hall. Also, just to finish this, you should be happy that Dean actually CARES about people. Dean and all of DayZ's Staff to be honest.

What Geckofrog7 said. Also, Dean already said that there will be mods for Standalone, so maybe we'll have DayZ Standalone Epoch and others, which is pretty cool!

DayZRP is a good choice, probably the best RP server so far. You can play it on the mod and on the Standalone, but I heard people saying that are players joining the DayZRP Standalone server and KOSing. If you want to RP on DayZ, get whitelisted on the DayZRP forum and play the mod for now and in the mean time you can wait for improvements on DayZ Standalone's servers.

Just press the right mouse button once. On the mod you could aim down the sights and do a second zoom by holding the right button again, but it only works on snipers now like the mosin.
