Number #1 What happened: I rolled and aggroed zombie because of it without making a sound. Where you were: Koma near a storage yard What you were doing: Crawling along a street & mistakenly hit 'E' instead of 'W' and when I rolled from pavement to grass the zombie at the end of the block took off and came around the building at me. The zombie was fairly far away (at the end of the block) and heading away from me. Maybe ATL 1 or 3. Number 2 Date/Time: Between 2:45 and 4:30 PM PST What happened: Zombie aggroed from outdoors whilst I was looking in my pack on the second floor of a building. Where you were: A town, cannot recall the name, there is a statue of a Tank, I was close to that, in a 2 story building away from the walls and windows. What you were doing: I went upstairs and saw some loot and was shifting things about in my pack (for maybe 35-45 seconds) when I heard unhappy zombie sounds. I went downstairs and saw him slipping through the wall in my direction. It gets so bad that you pretty much will give up and respawn. I gave up when my blood was 4k and the shaking was horrible.

So, I can be safe when crouched in a building doing something? Excellent, no more super sight zombies.

You've been very lucky. I would love to go three days without seeing another person. A vast majority of people will kill you on sight.

There is bullet drop, some rifles can be zeroed. That makes it so when you are shooting something at say 300 meters and the scope is zeroed at 300 meters what you see in the reticule is what you hit. The ones with multiple markings are not ones you can zero. They are used to guage bullet drop due to distance.

They appear to be the only damn thing I can find in Deer Stands.

People are selfish, extremely so when there is anonymity. I like to think ITSHTF in real life the people would band together. The truth is I expect only a few would and the others would only be out for themselves.

I dream about finding food and drink. I am down to my last can of beans and canteen. I have had crap luck in finding food lately and know not where the nearest water source is.

Try another 30 minutes and you will be dialed into the UI. It's just like if you changed the controller layout in any game. Weird at first. there are plenty of servers what are time inverted, there is even a thread that is working on listing them. Granted it's always REALLY dark when dark most of the time, but I have seen it be just as dark when camping myself. DayZ is, has, and hopefully will never stop being an extremely unforgiving game. Lastly, get used to playing at night, it's a big fat pain, but exponentially safer.

A good spot for camp will not be close to anything major and therefore kind of inconvenient unless you have wheels. I'm sure some have done it, but I think they might just be lucky. I have considered outside of the map past Kamenka. I saw a couple guys hoofing it way out in the distance when I swam in from the Debug Sea. I considered following, but since I was nearly dead from hunger/thirst (it was a long swim) I didn't. I theorize that a 7-10 minute run would be enough, since the average person just looking around would get bored after maybe 5 minutes of nothing.

I've died crawling out a doorway and down on small step. I've gone from crouch to prone almost (or actually touching) a tree and lost about 7K blood and broke and sprained myself.

I wonder how long until it would get....... icky. In reality, it could spawn some neat stuff, but I would be cautious of that.

I am getting more paranoid, I think someone went the other night. I was in a barn and I had a shaking suspicion I was being stalked. No proof, but felt like it. So I was in the loft of a barn and looking out the little circle window when I saw him with his flashlight on. I asked if the flashlight guy was friendly twice, no reply. Back when I still called out friendly. I figured staying put was the best course of action, until he entered the building. Pointed he long gun at me and I shot him. Only to get shot by his buddy who was waiting outside the opposite door. Now I stay quite and away from places.

Don't hold me to this, but I think it's 15 minutes. I try to skedaddle from the location if I see dead zombies.

Firstly, don't try and shoot things. When in doubt of your ability to get through a location with zombies, crawl. You have to headbutt them in the shin to get their attention when crawling. You location will pop up in the lower right corner when you log in. The middle is what matters, it's what town/thing you are near. Wilderness means you are far away from locations. No coords, just place name. Remember you could spawn south or north of say Kamenka (for example) so you have to take that into account when looking at a map. Small villages without a building you enter can still be great. Look in entrances fo buildings with an overhang, some small storage out buildings can have loot by them. And my favorite, outhouses can be opened for sometimes amazing hauls. If you shut the door on yourself you could break your leg and they can be a total bitch to actually get the loot from, but HIGHLY worth it in my opinion.

It would be great if this worked. I can just imagine how dangerous the paths to get there will be. Keeping it secret would be nearly impossible. I'm curious as to how long it would be until some jackass crashes a chopper into it.

Depends, take a serious look at yourself and ask the important questions. Can I handle an ALPHA tester's issues? Things will go horribly wrong and you'll lose all your stuff and probably die. Once gone, it's gone. Can I handle the utter brutality of the mod? You will get killed by people and they will not give it a second thought. Your stuff is gone and it's gone forever. Can I truly comprehend that this is not a bugless AAA FPS? It's not. If so try it, if you don't like it you don't like it.

I can deal with the night being so dark, it adds to the paranoia. Even rain at night, which is a pain in the ass is tolerable. The issue I have is when it's pitch black and raining and I am trying to stealth through a building and it's not just pitch black, but raining inside as well.

I believe this person found a ghillie suit and Bizon SD and wishes to wear the ghillie but is scared of the Debug Sea. He also has an enlarged E-peen due to the rarity of the gun. So find Bizon ammo, set up a trade and have a buddy threaten to snipe him.
