I think I suffered from some intelligence loss from reading some of thous reddit posts...no wonder I've never tried it before.

For standalone, I don't want to see these vehicles just 'spawn in'. I would like to see it if we can 'craft' the cars that spawn in. As someone said above, make your own technical out of a hatchback or something, you would of course need a gun and some other parts to make it work, as well as have to stock it with ammo (could be a simple as an AKM mounted to the top of a hatchback with a hole cut in the roof. Think that it should be made so that you cant just mount a m240 on a car, then jump from the driver seat to the gunner's seat via a menu, you should have to jump out of the car, then get back in through the gunner's door. To even mounting an actual heavy machine gun on a UAZ or something). I also think we should be able to 'armor' up vehicles a little bit, mount a steel plate/sheet of plywood over the windows for extra protection. Its been said that when they do add vehicles one of the things they want to do is let us 'mad max' em up a bit (wrap the car in razor wire, mount tank traps on the front as a battering ram, tie a naked femboy to the rear bumper...wait what? DAMNIT STEAK get out of my head!)

Did you just hone in on the word 'classes'? Because I listened to what Holy One said, "I say this word and its going to Haunt me (seams to have come true)...it wont be classes that we (the developers) make, it'll be classes that the players generate through their play style..." Most 'Hero' players play as medics as is, we have people who all they do is snipe, then there's guys like me who avoids other players whenever he can and just hangs out in the woods hunting wildlife and surviving. He's not going to add a Doctor class, or a Mechanic class, or a Solider class to the game. Players will do that on their own is what he's saying. -

Well that's kinda the thing, you can't really just boil seawater in a pot and it will be desalinized. Salt doesn't just 'cook off', if anything the water in the pot would just get more salty as it steams, at the very least you would need a still, and I'm not even sure if that would work to remove enough salt. -

Don't like the idea about spawning based on 'class'. It's months after the initial infection. Dunno about you but if I was a doctor/nurse I would not hang around a hospital all that time just because I'm a doctor/nurse. I'd be either cowering in my house or out in the forest avoiding zombies. I'd much prefer everyone spawn on the coast as a 'noob' (assuming skills don't transfer over after death), or even at 'random' points at the edge of the map (near a road or path or something) -

That would take a lot of work but would be pretty cool. Would definately lead to some trolling (what doesnt?). Don't put your box of ammo in a fire...(unless you're being robbed by a bandit at your camp) Don't put your grenade in a fire...(unless you're being robbed by a bandit at your camp) Don't put your jerry can in a fire...(unless you're being robbed by a bandit at your camp) Don't put your only set of clothes in a fire during the middle of winter...(unless the clothes were infected anyway) Don't walk barefoot over broken glass...(unless...okay I can't think of a situation to do that) Don't put water in your gas tank, don't drink water out of a gastank. -
This is the internet, people would complain about a solid gold statue. But yeah I could see complaints coming no matter what they do with a hind (or anything else for that matter) even if they add it in with no working weapons, 'OMG FUCKING OP! NERF NERF!' Make a meal. Can of beans and a porkchop is much more filling than either. I honestly think we should be able to cook/warm canned food as well for a 'moral' boost or what have you.

Zombies usually spawn in or near buildings, as well as randomly in fields. It's strange that there's so many but it might be the server you're playing on. Some private hives raise/lower the spawn timer of zombies or even the amount to adjust the difficulty.

Zombies usually spawn before loot, you're either experiencing a bug or some server lag.

This is probably the wrong topic to ask this, but it could be related. Was it ever said that we could turn on a flashlight, drop it on the ground, and it'll stay on? Could see this as either a distraction at night or a means of having hands free light. With a laser pointer I could see it being used as either a beacon or something for someone with NVG. 'I put my laser pointer on the ground near my camp facing the city, you can follow the beam to my camp.' or as a trap.

Don't think its gonna happen, I remember Rocket mention it in the past, some kind of limitation with the engine.

There won't be any vehicles or high end weapons at the start anyway in standalone, but they will be adding them in eventually. But a good sniper can kill just as well with a Mosin Nagat as he can with an AS50. Shining it in the eyes would be enough to at least disorient a person. If they do add in laser pointers, maybe we can use them against zombies some how. New Distraction perhaps? Or maybe a means of reducing a zombie's sight aggro for a limited time (30 seconds maybe?)

It would actually screw up night vision even if you don't get it in their eyes (natural, and Im sure it would be worse with a pair of NVGs on). Here in Hawaii we have a problem where people screw with the Coast Guard for some stupid reason. One thing they do is shine a laser pointer at the cabin of either the C130s or the Helis they use right when they're taking off or landing or just on patrol. Forces them to abort their mission/patrol and land, and then they have to cycle in a new crew for the mission, usually there aren't enough crews so they just have to abort all together. So far they haven't caught anyone. Does sound like a good idea, won't cause an 'insta crash' but could be a good means of discouraging airborne threats or snipers. If they add them as attachments to weapons too that might be a good thing, never know if the person shining a laser in your eyes is a poorly armed scavenger trying to scare you away or a Sniper drawing a bead on you.

Probably jumped in at a bad time for a noob. They just upped the infection chance and there's a few bugs regarding loot to my understanding. It's pretty much all luck of the draw, sometimes you can get lucky and find a box of matches, a knife, and an ax all in the same small town, as well as some other goodies. And sometimes you go through every city on the coast and only get an ax and a mac. -
Zombies carry personal notes after players killing them(Wallets, notes, memoirs)

I do like the idea of notes, they should be somewhat random though, 'crap loot' if you will, but a few notes might have something of worth. I've used this example a couple of times, but say you kill a soldier zombie, he drops a note with a crude map on it. Note would be in Russian (would say something like "Meeting up with UN medical team to provide armed escort to Berezino." "Refugees tried to hijack the shipment, then some infected came out of nowhere. NATO team is dead or infected, same with half of my team. The others fled south. Going load the UAZ up with all the medical supplies i can and take it to my uncles cabin near Ostry and try to hold out there." but there would be coords and a crude drawing of landmarks. Players could possibly decipher the note and find a UAZ spawn point with some medical equipment. -
Above ground construction is not something that's going to happen in standalone. Its just a bit too resource intensive. However I do like some of your ideas and hope someone with power sees them as well. 'Quests' for a hive cluster (guess we can call it that) sound good. The Idea for vaccines could work pretty good, reduce infection chance for that type of disease for everyone who gets an inoculation. Vaccines would have to be manufactured in a player base (underground) and distributed among other players. I could see Medic and Hero clans doing this, as well as any bandit groups either sabotaging or stealing the vaccine so they can use it themselves. Restoring power plants and industries would be something of an 'epic' quest for players of hive clusters. You would not only have to get the part of the power plant working again, you would have to get the infrastructure isolated/fixed. For example, say a group fixes up one of the generators at the power plant in Electro, if they just leave it there will be random brownouts and lights going on/burning out in the city and they would still have to provide fuel for the power plant (unless it was a hydro electric dam or something). But then they would have to isolate the power grid from the city and reroute it to somewhere else, say a player base or to one of the factories. But even then the factory would have to be repaired and supplied with raw materials (trash loot or purpose made loot)

...How many times does it have to be said that all the survivors are immune to the zombie virus. We're going to have to worry about a shit ton of other diseases in Standalone, and I believe that contaminating food and water sources will be a mechanic in SA. And honestly if you eat a random piece of meat you find on the floor, you probably deserve to die. And honestly poisons aren't that hard to find, you know the poison ricen? Comes from the castor bean plant. Couple years ago it grew EVERYWHERE and in mass. The bean alone is somewhat deadly (there's some kind of scale in place to show how many beans it takes to kill certain animals, mice=1 bean, cats =2 beans, ect) and from my understanding its actually fairly simply to refine it into the poison. Too difficult? Just look under your sink for a shit ton of ready made poisons.

While sounding pretty cool, machetes aren't really made for throwing, and even for axes that are purpose made for throwing (which Im pretty sure the ones we have now aren't) it takes a lot of skill to actually hit something, much less a moving target (even if that target is running towards you).
