Used to have Itunes running in the background with the sound low with my DayZ mix. (Dirty Harry, I want you, The Man comes Around, Taxman, Like a stone, Drink the blood of the Priest, Virus, Veridis Quo, Pennsylvania 6-5000, Thunderhorse, Stylo (for thous time I actually have a car), ect.) Kinda had to stop when I started playing on servers that required you to be on teamspeak.

Pretty sure they were, they were just to big to sync up correctly. Kind of the same reason big animals like bears were discounted as well. The animations wouldn't sync up properly and it'd look like the animal was spazzing out. EDIT Also, Cherno would look a little something like this...

Yep, that thing's getting stolen soon as shit goes pear shaped. I remember another idea for the solar chargers. In this one web comic I read, the 'MacGuyver' of the group basically takes one of those small solar garden lights, yanks out the lights and splices the wires to a cellphone charger so one of the group can check her voicemails to see where her parents went. Dunno if they have a Home Depot or WallMart in Chenarus, but little garden lights like this might be a means of getting a portable charger (one you can set up in your camp or one you can 'wear') for small batteries (flashlight, NVG, powered scopes, ect)

This kinda gets into the 'can' and 'should' category, as in 'Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.' After all, Steam might not rate or require ratings for games they publish, but I don't see too many Japanese Sex Sims on Steam. After all, That Game Which Shall Not Be Named was the first game EVER on Steam to warrant a refund to customers who bought it. We don't want DayZ to be the reason Steam starts to rate and require rateings for games. And after all, it only takes one 12 year old with a Lazy yet Overprotective parent to ruin things (GTA for example, you can have 'sex' with a prostitute, then kill them to get your money back, that caused a giant shit storm with people who thought that was the only thing you could do in GTA). Lets say Rocket goes crazy and adds in mechanics that usually get sent to the graveyard on this forum when they're suggested just because he can (sex ((player/player, player/zombie)), menstruation, rape, visual suicide ((where you see your avi perform the act rather than just drop dead)), ect) and imagine the shitstorm that'll cause. We need to think about things the consequences of such things, I know DayZ doesn't really have any 'sponsors' aside from Bohemia, but people tend to get offended and bitch and then endorsements start to be withdrawn. Would adding in kids and teens as NPCs actually add something to the game? Possibly, would it be meaningful? Not entirely. I would point again to another outrage/fake controversy of COD's 'No Russian', and (I think Battlefield 3's) Family vacationing in Paris when the nuke goes off. These were just pixels and people were acting as if a real 8 year old was featured in a rather violent snuff film on National TV. TL;DR: There's pushing the envelope, and then there's just rubbing your dick in someone's face because you can.

You should really edit your posts rather than keep posting every time you have an idea to add on. I believe batteries will be in Standalone (as for what/how/ect that's still somewhat unknown at the moment). There should be different types (not just sizes, but Rechargeable/Nonrechargeable, after all you can't just take any set of AAs and slap them into a charger) Car batteries would make sense as an item to be added, both for car repairs, and for crafting/other things. IE you turn hook up your car battery (either take it out or use jumper cables) to the gas pump at a gas station to turn the pumps back on, refuel your car, then put the battery back or disconnect the jumper cables (or if you have a spare and are feeling generous, just leave the car battery there). There's more than one way to charge a battery too, Car batteries are usually charged by an alternator in the car (small generator attached to the axle/motor to charge the battery while the car's moving). There's also been talk of portable gas generators. It would be nice if they add solar panels to the game (both on buildings that you can tap into the charge batteries and ones you can salvage for base building/or just a small one you can have as an inventory item to charge small devices). A long time ago I watched this one movie (forget the name, but it was set in the jungle) where a group of gorillas/drug makers had a large truck up on a jack, and either had a belt system hooked up to the tire/axle or welded a generator to the axle to power the camp. Something like this later on down the road for when they add base building would be lovely.

Proper Communications will make your squad. Otherwise you and your team are just sniper bait. Make sure you know EVERY one on the team, that way when a 15th person shows up you aren't running around like headless chickens. As said above, make sure everyone knows it's time to be serious, this isn't time to dick around and bitch about how your dad wants you to start paying rent, or if you wanna know if this one girl really likes you. Any comms should either be commands or reports. "Tom, Dick, Harry, go flank from the right side of the brick building. Larry and Howard, spread out and overwatch." "Movement spoted in the tree line South Southwest of us." Ect. Make sure there's a proper command structure and keep it as small as possible, if 6 people are barking orders different sets of orders no one knows who the follow and what to do. *Edit* I would actually recommend ditching Skype for Teamspeak or Ventrillo. I have not heard much good about Skype for gaming and would imagine there would be a lot of lag with a 14 person call.

This might be possible in Standalone. As said above, currently the Mag, gun, and all attachments are part of one model in the mod and Arma2. It's been confirmed you will have to find ammo and magazines separately. I'm pretty sure Beta Mags aren't currently banned (at least federally) in the USA (they were for a little bit but the law was allowed to lapse and wasn't renewed) but don't know if they were exported/how well spread out they are around the world and for what guns they were produced (I only know of the AR15/M16/M4 type mags currently). From what we already know, magazines will already be fairly rare (rocket said something along the lines of 'you'll cherish them and take care of them when you do find them). I would imagine IRL a 100 round dual drum clip would be a pain in the ass to reload. But to be honest, as long as it would be somewhat realistic for Betamags to be found in Chenarus I would not be opposed to them being added in as a VERY RARE drop.

So...you want them to add in a game mechanic that would only do something in fairly rare situations where two people are logging in/out at the same time or dying/logging out at the same time? Now that I've had some sleep I'm going to be a bit more polite. What made you think this would add anything to the game? I mean as rare as the situation you're talking about would be it would be completely unfair. Just think of how bad this would be with the combat loggers we currently have. Guy combat logs, some poor noob logs in at the same time, gets destroyed before his first loading screen is done and some error occurs. Standalone is going to be about personalization, hence why we're going to have different sets of clothing rather than just be a bunch of guys wearing jeans, longsleave shirts, vests, and baseball caps.

If you were playing Vanilla DayZ on Chenarus then more than likely the radio was hacked in. They had them a while ago but from my understanding they didn't do anything/much so they just removed them. While possible it's highly unlikely you found and killed someone who either had the radio for a very long time or was someone in a long chain of people who picked up a real radio from the last person who had it.

Okay...so if I'm understanding you correctly, which I'm having some difficulty believing...you want all the player slots to spawn in at the start of a server as NPCs. And as players join in to a server the NPCs will be randomly taken over by a player. And as they logged out their char would become an NPC again? Is this correct? I'm sorry to use such blunt terms, harsh language, and shit on your idea, which might actually be a good idea for some other game and genre, but this is just stupid for DayZ. I mean yes, most of us agree that the first and second rules of DayZ are: don't get attached to your gear...but still this is just stupid on multiple levels. First, what supercomputer do you think Bohemia has that they can run this clusterfuck on? Second, assuming Rocket has a massive brain aneurysm and thinks this is a good idea and starts working on it, how long do you think this will take them to program it just to get them back to the stage they are at now? Third, this would just suck, not knowing if your going to log into some random poor bastard thats infected, down to 300 health, bleeding and surrounded by zombies with no equipment, or if you managed to win the Powerball and log into Superking Badass McDualwieldingM107s fully decked out in gear and guns. Fourth, while I might just be a noob to Arma2, the AI (at least when I play) is bordering on Moronic and at the same time highly unforgiving and accurate. Whats to stop all these NPC survivors form just wiping out all the zombies or each other without themselves being wiped out by the zombies? Fifth, what happens when all the NPCs are killed? Does the server just reboot or does it add in some new NPCs as they get killed? Nope, read patch notes, this was put in a while ago. Zombies can (after a little bit) break windows on vehicles, hit players in vehicles that are missing windows, and even pull players out of vehicles missing windows.

If you don't have any hacks installed and haven't downloaded anything shady (the old FPS booster scam) then there's not really anything you can do other than put in a Ban Appeal on this forum or on the Server you were banned from's forum and/or find another server. I know very little about the hacks myself or how they work, so hopefully one of the more knowledgeable people on this forum on the subject can help you further.

In case your serous and not bullshitting us, ESP is a hack program used by filthy script kiddies to locate players and tents. From what I've seen it shows their location on maps, shows way points with their general locations and distances, ect ect.

I would say actually have the seasons match Real Life. IE the public hive will transition to the winter map sometime in late November and stay till spring rolls around.

1) From my understanding this will be/has been improved. Zombies will run indoors now. They won't just forget about you if you go behind a bush, they'll keep hunting you down for a while. 2) This would require a lot of work and would probably get the game banned in a few countries with overly protective censors. 3) Hordes are something Rocket wants to get around to eventually.
