I don't understand why people pay money (renting servers can NOT be cheep) in some shitty attempt to gear up. When they go to another server to PVP they're just gonna lose it anyway.

Sounds like the old broken leg hack, but it could just have been a sniper considering it was NWAF. I think it's been said that sometimes when desync happens and you're in a tall building you can die because the server thinks you suddenly fell even though you haven't.

I like it. Not enough wood grain in guns anymore. I mean yeah I want a rail or two on my gun, but does that mean the whole thing needs to be black/OD/desert tan plastic? I cringed when RedJacket mutilated that Thompson by removing all the wood and slapping on an AR hand guard.

I would not do that, there's a good chance they'll 'fix' that and you'll lose half your ammo. And it really only works for 5.56 NATO.

Requireing to be on TS, that MIGHT be against the rules. 'Admins only' is against the rules (as I don't think there are private hives yet), report that server and they should get their server taken away from them no refunds.

Dead NPCs are not NPCs, they're non moving objects. And yes, big walls would make sense in a zombie apocalypse, but big walls take time to build, time you don't have when the horde of infected are running towards you. Rocket has repeatedly said that players are the only ones immune to the zombie virus, so there won't be any NPCs to guard an area, build a town, hunt down bandits or whatever. If you want a 'safe' town clear of zombies, you need to get some other players to help you clear a town, put up barricades (not yet added in) and patrol the area to keep out undesirables.

Been said by rocket, Military guns are gonna get rarer as more civilian guns get added in. So the people like me that are practicing with flintlocks and single shot rifles are gonna have a foot up on you when the day comes :D

Architect student: Doors open that way for a reason, as stated above its part of the fire code. Really the only time doors open into a room is if it's a hallway (such as a hotel/apartment and it's not an egress point/meeting space) as a means of not blocking the hallway.

That doesn't sound like a good idea for DayZ. DayZ isn't restrictive. If you want to run straight to a military base from the coast you can. There's no real good/realistic way to close off an area, large walls don't make much sense. People don't build large walls now a days (we don't need to, no need to keep out marauding armies since now a days they can just go over/around or drop bombs on the wall ((Research Maginot Line)) ), not only that but who would be the one allowing access to the walled off city? Rocket wants this game to be player driven, and there won't be any NPCs. As for story, it'd be nice if we could find newspapers or journals to try and figure out exactly what happened, but it shouldn't be linked to any sort of reward.

Take what 'into consider'? That you bought an expensive computer that can't play a game you like without jumping through some hoops (bootcamp or whatever its called). There are people who play on Macs on these forums, go Google a guild on how to play DayZ on your mac.

Players weren't server hopping to circumvent loot not respawning, they were server hopping to gear up very quickly with little effort. If you play legitly, as in moving from place to place collecting loot as you go, the lack of loot respawn shouldn't be an issue. Frankly the server hopper fix is low hanging fruit they can do while building the ladder to get to stuff like zombies and loot respawning.

The 10/22 should have a 10 round (factory) clip, not take a snap loader.

Did a quick search even though I'm sure this has been suggested at least once before. We can lean (Q & E) to look around walls without exposing our entire body (or at all if we use 3rd person). I play mostly in first person and was on a server scavenging when I tried to look inside a window of a house to see if it had any loot at all (since it's kind of a crap shoot now) my head was just bellow the windowsill and I couldn't see in. I did this with a few houses and though, "Man, why can't I tip toe?" I propose being able to tiptoe/stretch in order to gain a few more inches in the possibility to see inside a building through a window or over a 'low' wall. I would have the default to be Q + E as the bind, and that you wouldn't be able to shoot/fire while on tip toes (I think you can fire while leaning but not sure, never had a need for it). EDIT 'Stretching' would also work while prone, to just lift your head up a little to hopefully see over the grass.

I avoid towns and players but...C. Look for a weapon then try to help out (if the other player's still alive)

I find plenty of food, get off the coast and the well traveled paths (big cities). My first stop is always tulga since NO ONE goes there and it has a water pump.

Didn't even think about reaching out of reach gear. Beans.
