Well, you CAN lock them now, but it's against the rules and you'll more than likely lose your server without a refund. I would imagine when they add in private hives you'll be able to lock a private hive server.
-
They probably won't have a 'black press vest' (kinda like the UN helmet can't be green or black but it's still the same model) but there will probably be 'police' vests or some such coming.

I don't like the idea of instakill backstabs or even some RPG 2x damage mechanic for 'sneaking'. There should be a difference between a stab and a slash with melee weapons. IE if you stab someone in the front you have a good chance of killing them (maybe not instantly unless you get them in the brain or heart) as opposed to slashing them from behind. BF/COD style 'press R3 to win' knifeplay, or throat slashing from behind or whatever...no thank you.

You'd likely find hives in hollow trunks of trees or in fallen logs, and you would get stung in the process (depending on the breed of bee) even with smoke and a suit. As for zombie animals...not quite sure, I've still not gotten my hands on the paper Rocket's brother did on the zombies/infected, but the virus might not be transmitted to other species, or it may. There are going to be food borne illnesses and such, so I don't see why you wouldn't occasionally get some meat that's infected or diseased, though cooking things thoroughly should kill most of them.

Yes, like 28 days later. Also players are the only ones immune to the virus, so there won't be any player zombies or NPCs.

The mosin uses 7.62 x 54r (I believe it's 51 in game for some reason) right now there's 7.62x51 and 7.62x39 which is what the AKM/47 and SKS uses.

Another one of these...*sigh* Zombies are not undead, they are rabid living humans. That means that a shot to the heart, or even bloodloss would result in death. Zombies are being redone to make them a bit more of a threat, but Humans (players) will always be the greater threat.

There's different teams working on different things. There's a bug team and a features team. The Feature's team only job is to add features, and the Bug Team's job is to fix bugs. Features are easier to add in than it is to find bugs and squash them. Honestly they could spend a month just trying to fix one bug, add in a feature then have that bug come back along with a whole host of new bugs. Hell they can fix a bug and have 20 new bugs pop up in it's place. I'm sure others have and will say it, It's Alpher, this is going to be the game at it's glitchist moment and that's without all/most of the core features.

Well there's also the worry about censorship. I think TF2 has to have slightly different versions in other countries (Germany in particular) where instead of bloodsplater and limbs rending it's nuts and bolts and other various machine parts. Most people want body parts flying for some reason, I think the majority want them because they want to see undead zombies running around without arms ala walking dead. Honestly other than a point blank shotgun blast I doubt there's any weapons we have that would send body parts flying (and even the shotgun blast is unlikely)

Because Alpher. I'm sure it'll come it's just not a high priority.

Some berries are poisonous. Don't know exactly which ones but I think it's the sambuca or whatever it's called.

They'll get banned eventually. BE bans are not instant from what I'm told.
-
Well that's one way to do trading. *Sounds of a shitty sniper* "You give me bullets, I'll give you BEANS!" *Headshot with a can of beans*

Why limit it to just potatoes? I'm sure a soda can can fit in one of thous, and a rag or something to act as wading.
-
Wouldn't a bolt action pistol be awkward as hell to operate? I know they have them (technically this is a Short Barrel Rifle, at least in the US) but still.

Holy crap, I didn't even know it was that far off the coast. Yeah no way in Hell they would make a bridge to Utes. Yeah, there's no real way to get to it so they took it out, otherwise they'ed have zombies and items just lagging up the server for no good reason. I've heard conflicting things, that they're not going to put it back in, and that they're going to put it back in when they add in air vehicles and boats.
-
Utes, assuming it's still in the plans to be added, won't be close enough for a bridge. If I remember right, Utes doesn't have much on it that would justify a long span bridge to connect it to the mainland. It doesn't have a major city on it, and the as a military instillation you would want as few easy access points as possible, especially not a bridge that would cost a couple billion dollars that you may have to blow up in case of an invasion.

I think English is not your native tongue, or that you need to make a more coherent thought. That said there's some 'windows' you can jump/vault out of. Though I don't think that's as intended. Being able to dive out of a nearby window, or even climb into a house via a window would be nice later on down the line.

Yeah, pretty sure it's copy right reasons. The M4, Mosin, and SKS get around this because I believe no one company owns the rights to them anymore and are produced by many many MANY different companies under different names, sort of Public Domain guns at this point as long as you don't attach a brand name to them. That and there'd be bitching about why an M4 is called 'Tactical Carbine' or some such nonsense. Where as a Ruger 10/22 is made solely by Ruger and as far as I know doesn't have many 'knock offs' so they would have reason to lawyer up.

What's wrong with a bit of rope? Also the forums are getting pretty kinky tonight.

Server files are not available to the public yet, nor do I think they plan to for a long while (at least Beta but that's only my guess). If you found 'server files' online for it I would probably do a couple of AV scans after removing them. For now the only way to host a server is to rent one from one of the providers.

I do think they need to tweak it, a headshot with a .22 LR should be deadly (someone said up to at least 300m), now yeah center mass shots on the other hand are a different story. Also the .22 LR is not the smallest caliber (I believe there are .17 cal rounds/guns out there, equivalent to your standard BB gun BB in size, and there are even SHORTER .22 rounds). The 5.56/.223 round is only slightly larger caliber wise than the .22, but as said it's the amount of gunpowder behind it (9mm is the roughly the same diameter as a .357, but the .357 is usually used to describe a magnum load) and there are .22 Magnums out there as well.

I have a suggestive/explict dayz themed experience that I'm dying to share

Someone discovered their Fetish! Congratulations. -
In one of the Tremors movies they made a 'potato' gun that shot arrows/rebar using smaller pipes and a garden nozzle to act as the touch hole.
-
Well yeah, no one's gonna be doing 1km headshots with a .22lr but still. 100m or less a shot to the head should be deadly.
