In controlling weather as in turning rain on or off, I've seen nothing about it. Setting the 'season' and thus the temperature will be possible on the other hand.

I was a bit curious as to how this was gonna play out as well, obviously it's not gonna be any time soon but think it'd be interesting to RP as a DayZ DJ. Was sort of against the idea of a cell phone in game, but I guess they would have some value if you can find a means to charge them. Smartphones would be the 'everything' phone, able to save notes, built in GPS (last time I checked my phone's GPS system worked even when I was out of service, at the very least the maps till functions), flashlight, camera, voice recorder/playback (Decoy device). Dumb phones would be much more limited (as in notes and flashlight and camera, date and time) but more common. Smartphones would last a day or less on one charge, where as a dumb phone would last around a week. You'd need to find means of charging them, like solar chargers or vehicle chargers. Even crafting a charger from a solar garden lamp. Obviously there would still be no internet/communications with phones, unless they added repairing the grid or getting cell towers working again as endgame.

I'm not sure that that'd be a good idea for most guns. You'd need tools in most cases to get a gun down to a small enough size to make a difference, and then you just have a bunch of small, vital parts floating around. Granted we can pretty much just swap out gun parts (stocks, handguards, ect) without tools.

I'd agree with that if it was a private shard/server, but currently they are not, and are against server rules, and if caught they can lose their server without a refund. Back on topic, it's suppose to be so admins can kick abusive players (hackers, spammers, out and out dickheads), which is difficult considering the limited tools they have to identify players. If what you say is true then you've gotten an asshole that pays real money to dominate people in an ALPHA of a game, either they want the server as their own private loot farm, or some other reason which is unimportant.

Find one server and stick with it. If it still doesn't save find a different server till you find one that works and stick with that one. As stated there's 1st and 3rd Person servers, and data does not transfer between the two. IE if you fully gear up with military stuff on a 1P server and join a 3P server, you'll be a freshspawn (or whatever you were last time you joined a 3P server). Also it's possible that you are being killed somehow when you log out. Your character stays in game for about 30 seconds (it may be longer), so if someone's been stalking you for some time and see you sit down, they can shoot you in the head and take your stuff, or if you were being chased by a zombie and log out the zombie has a pretty good chance of killing you before you disappear, then you'll respawn when you log in again. Another thing that I'm not sure of and may have been solved already is that GSPs (game service providers) may or may not transfer information between different companies. There's also bugs where your character fails to load, and if you log out fairly quickly and try again you'll get it back, but if you stay in you'll overwrite your old info I'm a bit curious as to why you have two copies of DayZ.

He meant temperature, IE it'll be cold as FUCK come December (which is why people fully geared up on experimental were suffering hypothermia) where as when summer comes we might actually start suffering from hyperthermia.., I would assume the OP meant weather as in rain/sunny. If he meant temperature then that should be fairly soon as that's an intended option for when they get it working.

I don't think the tools are in place to alter weather and timing on shards yet (and by timing I mean the flow of time, accelerated time was talked about as an option later on down the road)

Good idea, maybe something like a week? Yeah to either clear a heli pad or collect resources for a base, that might encourage people to team up as well, send a team out to go chop wood and load it into a truck so the base won't get exposed. Or the opposing end, chopping down trees near a well known, well established base to deny cover to attackers/scouts

I think the reason why it was removed (for now) was clipping issues. It'll probably be back once they resolve it.

For Public servers you can only kick abusive players/cheaters. There's no such stipulation for Shards. You may want to consider shutting down your server or switching over to a shard instead, keep in mind you'll be off of the main hive if you do that. Though shards do show potential, as from the sounds of it you'll be able to link different shards together to 'share' a hive. So you could say have 3 shards on the same hive.

Don't think you're allowed to do this, at least not with public servers. Though if you go to a private shard you probably won't have the problem of your server being full, unless people really like your server as I'm pretty sure Shards are on their own like Private Hives in the Mod.

Been suggested many times. First of all, there won't be any non infected human NPCs in game. Locomotives are difficult to start up, let alone repair (I barely know how to turn a simple switcher that I've been riding in for something like 8 years, let alone remember which brake is the engine brake and which one's the train brake). There's locos and boxcars in game already.

Assuming you weren't just banned for having a cracked version, you get it from Steam, just like how you downloaded the game. Verify your files. Unless you mean the mod, in which case I have no Idea as I don't actively follow the mod anymore.

Some kind of short range scope or even a RDS would be nice, as well as a silencer (when they function) and maybe a flashlight (weather it's a rail light or ducktape and a flashlight). The mags for the sporter are rare, but it's still a good zombie gun. Not really sure if the PU scope would 'fit' on a 10/22 without a bit of gunsmithing.

Eat, drink, and heal up. Sprinting makes your weapon sway worse. Don't use 3rd person or hip fire unless your using a shotgun at close range. Ironsights, not the dot.

Well, we're gonna have to boil water eventually to sanitize it. Maybe some uninsulated containers could also act as warmers? Probably a poor example, but say put a rock in the fire, take it out after it gets hot and put it in your jacket to warm you up faster. 'Cooking' can food would be a good idea too. Nothing better than a warm meal when you're cold, or alternately you could warm up the unopened can and either hold onto it or put it in your pockets and that would carry over heat.

There will be diseases, that's been confirmed. As for moving hostages/captives, don't really know how they'd go about doing that other than some 'dual' animation when you physically drag/move the person, like how they had a drag wounded animation in Arma2
