    I think player bodies despawn somewhere between 5-10 mins.

    Stuffed isn't that big a deal, but stop when you get it to orange. Generally speaking unless your dashing around everywhere your 'stuffed-ness' will decrease faster than your hydration and energy. Just make sure you're drinking high hydration/high energy food/drink or both. Canned Peaches are probably the best food to eat, highest calories and hydration per serving. DayZ wiki shows all the foods, drinks, their calories and hydration amounts, as well as their 'fulfillment' values. Not sure if its an error on the wiki, but water from PET bottles seam to be less 'filling' than drinking straight from the tap while at the same time providing more overall hydration (I wouldn't take mine or the wiki's word for that though).

    DayZ Tip: How to auto-run

    Step 1: Get some smallish coins. Step B: Insert coin so that it wedges under the 2 and 3 keys and over the w key. Step iii: Stack coins on top of coin from Step Bravo until coin is sufficiently weighed down. Step 4) Profit.

    Food Recipe's

    Just a thought. I can think of a couple of reasons to add food recipes to the game. A warm meal can help warm you up on a cold day/night. You could have more calories in a more compact package. IE my stuffed peppers idea. You'd have a serving of steak, rice, and peppers in a 1x1 slot. If they ever make some sort of 'mental' health stat, a warm 'prewar' meal would be a mental boost.

    Stuffed peppers. Grind/chop/dice your choice of meat finely and cook. Cook some rice (add drippings from the meat for extra flavor) then mix with the meat, dole out into bell peppers (with the tops and seeds cut out), sprinkle with 'cheese' made from powdered milk or tactical bacon bits, replace the tops and consume.   6. Most foods provide at least a little bit of hydration as well as energy. Weird thing is Sodas provide slightly more energy than hydration. So far the only things that don't provide hydration as well are bags of rice and powdered milk, they actually dehydrate you a little. Could be the values got tweaked the wrong way, we could have a smaller hydration stat than an energy stat, which is why it's 'filling up' quicker. Or it could be simply intended.

    Power Grids & Character zombies after death

    Player zombies not gonna happen. It goes against the lore, and they also won't do it for gameplay reasons as well as engine limitations. We will get infections and sick from zombies, but it won't be the zombie virus itself. We'll catch things like cholera and dysentery. From what I know we might be able to strip/loot zombies in the future, but to safely wear any gear you'll have to disinfect it first (people can even leave 'trapped' gear, say a couple raincoats smeared with infected blood in a high traffic area). Repairing a power gird is VERY tedious and hard work, not to mention keeping it running. One blown transformer can fuck all the systems till it's fixed. I highly doubt we'll be able to get the power grid up and running, though if we do it'll be endgame and take the effort of the entire server, not just one or two groups, and by that I mean bandits will have to agree not to fuck with the power (and possibly even protect it) in exchange for powering their base or supplies. On a scaled down system, generators and other means of power are pretty much all but confirmed.

    Always possible it was a script kiddie. From what I'm told there's scripts that can hide them from the player list as well as make them invisible. Now that I potentially doomed this to a locked thread there are other possibilities as well, most of them glitches, and without hearing more details it'll be hard to say exactly how you died. Dieing 10 seconds after spawn is rather suspicious. I do think Heart Attacks are still in game, yet to experience one myself (never experienced a hacker myself either but they do exist). Did a bit of quick reading on DayZ Wiki, seams heart attacks can only occur during unconsciousness and is random.

    Sleep Deprevation

    We don't need a sleep mechanic, we are our own sleep mechanic. Time is currently set to one real hour = an in game hour, so if someone's been playing for 36 hours straight they're the one going to suffer, not only physically but in game as well. You'll be tired, you won't notice that wookiee sneaking up behind you, ect.. Yes eventually private hive/server owners will be able to tweak time settings so that you can make a day be 6 hours (and split up day and night however you want). The sleep mechanic works in Fallout because its a single player game where you can skip ahead in time (and also has accelerated time as well), rather than an online game where you'll be starring at a black screen for an hour (or however long) while you 'sleep'.
  12. I'm aware of that, I was wondering if there was a 'plausible' way to mod a normal 10/22 into a Takedown. I glanced at a news post on a firearms blog about someone making kits to turn your 10/22 into a takedown but have been away from the internet for a few days so I didn't get a chance to look at it better.     Seasons

    As far as I know whether or not we get seasons (as in snow on the ground) we will have seasonal temperatures. IE it will get VERY cold on public servers around December/January in real life, and very hot in July/August. I think Private Shards will be able to set the 'season' to their liking. Now that said, in theory they could make 2-3 more maps to represent each season, but I would think they'ed be a bit of work as it wouldn't be just replacing the grass texture with a snow texture, and make the water solid. They'ed have to do a LOT of details across the entire map. If they did that they could 'switch out' the maps whenever there's a season change. But this is coming from someone with almost no programming knowledge so take it with a grain of salt.
  14. Didn't mean that but that'd be sweet too. Was talking about the Takedown Version of the 10/22 so we can take it apart and store it like the trumpet.
  15. Well that would require more than just a hacksaw. You'd pretty much need to be a gunsmith (With the right or close to right tools for it to work. I do like the idea of being able to cut down more weapons, and maybe when we get advanced crafting we can make AK pistols and the like. I'd also be curious if we could do some other type of gunsmithing as well with existing and future guns, like turning the Sporter into a Takedown.

    On the subject, I know they added the AK101, is it a crashsite only (east or west) or does it spawn at any military site? If its found anywhere that can be evidence that they're 'Westernizeing' their military along with Humvee wrecks.

    You use what's readily available. IE Daesh (ISIS hates that name so I use it) using OUR Humvees that we gave to the Iraqis. Before the war I would imagine that Russia was more than willing to sell Chenarus pretty much anything they could afford. Now that you said that, it would make more sense to start seeing Humvees around post war, being on cool terms with their major weapons supplier. Weapons systems are a bit harder to replace than vehicles, as what are you going to do with your stockpiles of AKs, 7.62x39,54r, 5.45, ect. They could even be doing a Finland, where they have their own variants of Russian weapons and most (not all, think their SpecFor adopted a 5.56 rifle recently) of their weapons using 7.62x39 and 54r so they can use captured Russian supplies. I mean shit the Chinese PLA are making their versions of Humvees, mostly with American imported parts but they're slowly making their own engines and replacement parts.

    They're just wrecks, leftover game assets from Arma2 and the mod. They could be explained away as US military surplus sold to CDF after the war (The US sells off a lot of it's equipment rather than shipping it back), or even purchased by CDF before the war (unlikely being closer to Russia and a former Soviet State they'd probably stick to whats closer and what they know). It'd be tedious to go and replace every Humvee wreck already in the game with a UAZ wreck durring alpha.

    The timeline hasn't really been fleshed out yet, but I think the majority consensus is that it does take place after the events of Arma2 (one of the devs said it's at least 2013 in DayZ, possibly later). One theory is that it's in it's own timeline where Red Harvest never occurred, which would explain a lack of Foreign (non CDF) forces in Chenarus aside from helicopter crashes. The other way to explain that is that US and Russian forces left after the crises was over (with the US selling some of their equipment as par the course, explaining the Humvees, and the CDF already uses a majority of Soviet/Russian equipment anyway).

    For number 2, players are immune to the zombie virus, it has been confirmed that we will/may get infections from zombies, but it will not be the zombie virus itself. The infections we get will be things like dysentery, cholera, typhoid, ect.

    Still, I don't know if you puke often, but it's not something one would do as a defense mechanism (against prey/predators that is, puking is actually one means of expelling toxins/poisons). If someone is feeling sick enough to throw up, they're more than likely not going to be chasing someone and use their puke as an attack. They're going to run, stop suddenly or stumble (at the very least slow down) and throw up, and depending on how badly they're sick, continue running. Assuming you're unluckly enough to get puked on by a sick zombie, it's not an instant infection unless you have open wounds or they get it into an orifice, you'll need to clean your gear and your body. Diseases and such will be added in, and getting infected from zombies will be a real threat. Not in the Walking Dead 'we need to amputate NOW' sense, but the 'fuck, now I've got dysentery' sense. Kids won't be added in if for no other reason than to make the censors happy. Fat people, I too would like to see them added in, they reason that I know of is that you can't simply make a fat person and put it on the same skeleton as the 'skinny' zombies, it'll just look awkward. They'ed have to make a new skeleton for them and more mocapping for animations. That said I don't think they'ed be more durable than the average zombie or be any stronger.
