What kind of base do you wanna build when base building is added to DayZ standalone?

I'd probaby do something simple and low key for myself. barbwire and tank traps to protect the perimiter, and sandbags to protect my tent/s and parking area with hopefully a cammo netting to cover my car. That would be my personal setup away from the larger base Im helping with, with a lot of treecover, out in the middle of nowhere, where few people like to go. -
Actually this could play in really well with transporting water to player bases. Police cars, civilian ambulances as well as Military ones would fit in with this as well.

Im actually curious as to how underground construction will work/look, like given enough resources could you make a concrete lined bunker like in namalisk? or would it look more like something youd see in The Great Escape or say a Viet Cong tunnel base. -
How About We Start Playing This Game?

Think you could branch it to three 'factions' and subgroups within each faction. Survivors, Bandits, Remnants. Remnants being whats left of the world governments/militaries. Survivors would be what we have now, dropped in the middle of nowhere and chose what you want to do, want to be a Bandit act bandit-ish, need to come across a Remnant base/faction to be drafted/enlist. Remnants would get 'the good shit' and have established bases but would have to actively partake in missions, (help survivors, hunt down bandits, kill X amount of zombies in Y town, retake and hold a powerplant or factory while another group restores it, gather resources for a 'cure' for what researchers are left to work on) but also be constrained by rules, (cant just go off and slaughter a bunch of bambis without either being kicked out/hunted down/executed/imprisoned). Survivors could band together to retake towns and such, along the lines of the republics you want, or you could just be the lone survivalist wanting to stay far away from the cities, content with a tent, a dog, and a rifle. Bandits of course would be bandits, ranging from jackasses we have now, to guys who will 'protect' a town for supplies, or take over a town and run it the way they want. Kidnap/enslave survivors to work for them. -
Jerry cans, used for water. Standalone idea.

All jerry cans currently in game come with in them, which makes them non viable for any kind of safe drinking. I agree with others that there should either be 'clean' containers to put water in (maybe a 'brand new' empty jerry can can be used for water, or gas but once its used for gas cant use it for water). Or maybe adding differnt type of tanker trucks (here they use large tankers of water at construction sites to keep dirt out of the air) so for example you could Take a V3S with a large tank on it (either one you found or one you converted into a tanker somehow via crafting) to a lake or dam, pump water into it and drive back to base to purify it (if they add that as a factor to standalone). I like the idea of rain water catchment system or possibly even being able to dig wells for bases (with the need to purify the water/reinforce the well) -

Was going through an Army Survival Manual I have and came across a 'tree-pit snow shelter' which made me laugh a bit because of the current favored method of deagroing zombies. Basically you dig a pit around an evergreen tree (during snow/winter) either to the ground or till you get comfortable, break some branches off other trees for more overhead cover and pack the snow around your tree to support the wall. Id like to make a suggestion along these lines of the ability to make traps. This could go along with the crafting system, can learn them either from books/guides you find in homes, or by studying them in the wild. Or of course, by looking at FAQs online...But there would be two different types of traps, hunting traps and booby traps. Hunting traps being snares and deadfalls, booby traps being things rangeing form non deadly, noisemakers, cans on string, possibly a mansize snare or net (not sure how theyed do that in the game) ect, to harmful/deadly, pungi sticks and 'poor man's claymore' (shotgun shell in a mousetrap). Now Id think it'd be interesting to see some Predator type trap setups out in the middle of nowhere but as the old saying goes, Keep It Simple Stupid. Also, the only time Ive ever been able to run up to a rabbit and hatchet it was because it was glitching out and rubber banding. The 'legit' times I have killed one was running one over with a truck as it ran across the road or catching one unaware from far off with a rifle. *Edited* Also add zombie parts as a resource, teeth, bones, flesh, ect. chance of getting an infection while 'harvesting'. Use as weapons/poisons (add zombie teeth to a trap to increase chance of infection, rub infected flesh on traps to transfer diesease, zombie bone shiv/speartip) or possibly an 'endgame' thing. Group of players can do research on zombie parts, say with a fully operational lab or hospital they could refine medicines/inoculations from the flesh, or find a poison that'll kill zombies, (lace it with meat and toss it into the middle of cherno to clear it out) -

Try pressing F a couple of times when you spawn till you see your Gunname Bullet count ect. Ive had this problema couple of times on private hives that give starter gear. -

I see someone else has been reading survival guides. Possibly add fishing in some sense to this? Either finding a tackle box and pole in the Cherno Supermarket and actively fishing, or passive 'traps' such as gilnets and stakeouts in a stream/river -
I've had a similar Idea I would like to piggy back onto you thread rather than get graveyarded for making my own. Can still give other players out in the wild blood transfusions, but you give yourself a blood transfusion ONLY in a hospital. You would have to find an IV machine and a blood bag (possibly a battery or whatever the electrical resource would be), sit down and interact with the machine which would leave you vulnerable for say 30 seconds (unable to shoot/move, would make it a trade off of do you want to play solo and take a great risk, or group up with someone to give you a blood transfusion) Possibly of expanding this to building a player/base would be going to a hospital, looting an IV machine and other medical devices to set up in a player base with the same rules.

Consolidated Weapons/Equipment suggestions

I would like this as well, but make it a double edged sword/flamethrower. Say if you set up a campfire/firewall outside of town, the zombies will walk in it and catch fire, SLOWLY dying (like maybe 5 mins for a 'full health' zombie or whatever they're calling it). A zombie on fire could catch other zombies/players on fire (player on fire would take much more damage than a zombie, literally have to drop and roll or be near water, zombie bumping into other zombies have chance of spreading fire, chance of catching on fire when attacked). Could be a good way to clear out a section of a town at night, however any/most loot on zombies would be lost/destroyed by the fire (bullets explode, cans of food become charred, possibly still usable, flares/painkillers/ect burn up).
