The challenge and saga of Zombie Pathfinding
joe_mcentire replied to SmashT's topic in News & Announcements
the trick is they've created their own little tool to update the map (or segments) whenever changes happen. http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/25pvxj/new_devblog_the_challenge_and_saga_of_zombie/chjln39 -

i say no. cause even on the internet it is a valuable lesson to learn that you're not welcome if you use racial slurs.
-
No! just NO! don't you ever just "casually" start to tolerate such things! NO!

repair, handle, maintain chopper = endgame and you could add several similar ideas and define them as endgame

Would you want back the reloading sounds when connecting?
joe_mcentire replied to GunnyITA's topic in Suggestions
what about a "wakup yawning" sound instead? -
unbelievable how magically fresh minds and different approaches can solve such an intricate problem in such a short time.

different ground textures may act as "containers" for basic materials (aka berry picking mechanic)
joe_mcentire replied to joe_mcentire's topic in Suggestions
indeed they did. as we can see with sticks from forest floor and berries from bushes. of course ideally we would have thousands of berries and sticks lying/hanging around everywhere. but especially with an MMO this is just an utopian expectation. -

[–]bbbbaconstripsFriendly In Cherno 12 points Awesome, I assume we'll also be able to get sticks from trees? That would make crafting splints so much easier. [–]rocket2gunsRocket 20 points yes, currently recovered from forest floor. source -

How likely are randomly distributed props and sceneries upon server-restarts? OR incentives to use the ingame map
joe_mcentire replied to joe_mcentire's topic in Suggestions
tbh i didn't think it was reasonable for the current dayz-development, more an idea if they plan dayz to become a franchise of some sort, so more for later derivatives. i thought it may be worth to talk about it, not only about dynamic "happenings" but also things that add always a bit of uncertainty to the map. the idea was primarily to find a way to give ingame maps more purpose, then somehow i came to this idea ;). edit: there are of course other and more reasonable (smaller/easier implementations) possibilities to give maps a purpose. -

Wow, they removed trees from chernarus.

more quality less quantity.., let's see what they can do but i don't really get why i would want to have let's say 6 more villages which all look the same instead of leaving more space, add certain props here and there and upgrade existing settlements with more "life" and signs of former life. unique objects etc... -
hej! you don't need to get fox devil's wild!

sceneric object/location - post a picture, what would you want to see
joe_mcentire posted a topic in Suggestions
Now we heard in the last devblog that Dean and his team are on the way to create unique buildings, land marks and objects for a more apocalyptic feel, which can be seen here: So i thought to myself, what would you want to add? Everything from small objects that litter the streets to a bit bigger sceneries such as a building or land marks. To spice things up a bit, i'd suggest to post PICTURES ONLY (maybe with a short discription)! edit: For the sake of avoiding redundancy maybe we could leave obvious additions such as Metros, Asylums, stadiums or prisons out for that one time ;) -

between and in elektro and cherno. ;) however there would be huge suburbs needed.. -
however this happens to me too from time to time. almost out of nowhere, but not in cities especially, but rather everywhere, even in the middle of a forest. it's really weird.

as long as it is a unique grand manor completely run down and clearly distinguishable from other buildings it wouldn't matter thatmuch to me. however fog is going to be ingame anyway.
