Well I found another piece of evidence supporting the assertion that it might be our ISPs that are the problem. I remembered a trick I used back when I was having problems with connecting on the mod, using my mobile wifi hotspot for work (only trick is I can't use it too much for Dayz otherwise I might make the company hit our bandwidth limit D:). It worked just dandy. One of my clanmates made a claim that the way the game does server browsing is very similar to the way P2P file sharing programs browse files and that my ISP might be mistaking it for a P2P program. He suggested I try to only join the game through steam by joining the game of someone on my friends list and that would skip the server browser and not alarm the ISP. Going to test this theory here in a little bit.

So has anyone even confirmed if this last patch brought the change that was supposedly going to fix this problem? I don't see anything in the patch notes having to do with anything networking wise, it's all in gameplay changes. If that is the case could a mod possibly give us a better idea of at least why it didn't get released and maybe give us at least a rough idea of when it should hit (at least confirm it's next patch or whatnot if at all possible).

Just gets weirder and weirder. So after a totally fresh install I tried to make a steam backup of DayZ. After that it didn't even give me one session when I tried to play it so I pulled up the backup and it was same thing. I'm going to maybe try now to make basically a manual backup of the dayz folder(s).

Well I'm finding that everytime I reinstall I get exactly one session on one server and the problem comes back. This is leading me to think it is some file that gets changed/corrupted after you log off of the first session. Any ideas what this file could be? If so then it should be a simple fix of making a copy after a reinstal and just replacing it everytime I have to change servers. Its a file that verify intergrity of game cache does not find.

I had this happen even before the latest patch. Small backpack had one unusable slot.

Well shoot. Reinstall worked for exactly one session and ofc I was lazy and testing and didn't have my usb headphones plugged in so I restarted the game so they would work and now it is back to session lost. Were you able to play multiple sessions?

I've been having the same problem for a week before the patch and the patch didn't fix it either. Perhaps I should try a re-install.

Well I just contacted my ISP (TWC Austin area) and had them reset my modem from their end. Still getting session lost. Clanmates were telling me the server was saying my signature check timed out. While I was on the phone with TWC though they pointed out that perhaps the game has a problem with the fact that on their home ISP service they use dynamic IP addresses. Could this maybe be a problem? If so is there anyway to get around it as the only way for me to switch to static IP is to buy their business class service which I am definitely not interested in paying for.

.....still getting session lost after update. Clan suggested turning off AA and Vsync, no dice. Tried resetting modem, no dice. Going to contact my ISP tomorrow to have them reset my connection on their end and hopefully this solves it.

So was the hotfix for this supposed to have already come out? It's a month after the initial report that they were going to hotfix this issue. Really sucks that I just joined a new clan a week and a half ago and I'm already having to take a LOA until this issue is fixed. Only gotten to play standalone about a month and a half combined since new years : /

Just started getting this on every server last night (including hardcore). First off I get initial login lag that I never had before, takes about 3 min to be able to pull out a weapon. Then about a minute or two later I get session lost. Anyone got a fix for this (hopefully besides reinstalling the game)? I seriously doubt this has anything to do with my connection. It started last night, I was with my clan. At first we organized and went to our destination on our home server. Everything worked fine for over 2 hours on this server. Then we went to a populated server only to find that it filled up before all our peeps could get on (was on that server for about 10+ min with no problems). Then we find a 3rd server and after 5 min the game crashes on me and I now have this problem on every server I join.

So all last patch I had problems with this on most servers. Yesterday I started having problems again after 5 days playing clean. I realized today that the new patch had reset my screen name to my computer name and that I had changed it yesterday before trying to play. Go back into the main menu and change it back to the computer name. Was able to get on 4 servers in a row without desync issues but of course I had to make sure so I went back and changed the name again and sure enough problems on every server I go on. But now it won't fix no matter what I do with my screen name. Someone should try changing their name back to their computer name and DON'T change it to see if the problem clears up at least once when that is done.

hmmm : / Still seems like a good clue for the devs to go on to mop of the last of this desync crap.

Nearly every server I've joined since the last hotfix has caused major desync issues. Most often they are capped at 100k but occasionally I will have ones as low as 1500ish which is still rather unplayable unless you are just sitting on a low pop server regening health, hoping noone will sneak up on you. Only 3 times since Monday have I found any servers that didn't have this issue and in all cases it was only temporary that I could actually stay on the server (40min-3hr). This is ranging on everything from extremely local low ping (20ish) servers to ones in the high 90s. This is causing me to have extreme trouble moving, picking up objects and just a bit ago killed me while I was trying to go downstairs in a building. Didn't even see my death, one second running down stairs, next "You are dead". Really bums me out since I had alot of gear that took me ages to collect (namely the stupid can opener). Is this perhaps due to a setting in my router that needs to be changed since the last patch or perhaps the game no longer likes my Belkin wifi usb stick? Anyone got any ideas if this is a client issue I can fix or if I have to wait for Rocket to make a fix for this?

If my 2x6950s can handle 3 monitors at 1080 in eyefinity with about 40+ fps I'm sure you can get a rig that will at least pull an acceptable 30.

For those still desyncing have you changed your in game name recently, like perhaps right after the patch when it reset to the computer's name. Try putting it back on the name of the computer and see if it solves your issue. Just be warned if you switch back to another name it might not allow you to go back again. I had it work like that once and then 2 more times I got it to work by changing the computer's name then the ingame name to a new one. Now nothing works and every server is severe desync. Was rather odd cuz I got a good solid 5 days out of this patch till desync reared it's ugly head again....totally thought I was through with that crap ><

Bump anyone else gotten this to work? Doesn't seem like near as many people have desync/rubber band issues as last patch. Perhaps not many have changed their in game names yet.

Well this fix seems only somewhat temporary. After a while the server I get on will start to give me desync issues. Still 3 out of 4 times changing my computer name and then in game name has worked to give me at least a few hours of play before a server craps out on me.

Got it to work again after changing my computers name itself. Then I went into the game played a server with old computer name, desynced and quit that one, then changed the name to the new name and its working

Did they take the loot out of these in the last patch? Just combed through a very obviously unlooted NWAF earlier and the tents were all empty. Used to be a great way to pimp out my M4 (Barbie gun lol) pretty nicely in those tents. Perhaps the server I was on just had a fluke spawning the loot there?

I uninstalled AVG and still have the problem, lucky you : /
