DAYZ Standalone VS. ARMA 2 MOD version

Let's re up this post, with the addition of the recent updates.
  2. basedgodtripp

Yesterday I played the Mod after 200 hours of Standalone.

I've got to agree with you, they're making this game extremely easy to get get ear, with a police station now in almost every town, and the zombies usually all die with one shot. I had logged over 600 hours on the mod(sadly) and am close to 175 on SA, I love both, but the mod is much harder than standalone.

    First DayZ experience

This makes me sadder than you know, I miss the first time I played, it felt so awesome finally being able to play the game I've heard so much about, gathering loot up and down the coast. Putting together a clan renewed that feeling, we acted like the police on the server we played on! Then one day I got on, and sure it was still fun, but it didn't give me that feeling of, "What new and awesome thing will I do today, will I kill some bandits, some a couple of survivors, or finally fix up that helicopter at the airfield?!" I had played it so much, that it eventually stopped bringing me back to it. Yeah, I still play it, but not as much as those first few months. This is why I can't wait for standalone to come out, I hope it'll renew the sense of adventure inside me.

    Got free NV goggles

Well, this happened to me and my group once, we were all fairly ignorant noobs, we had some good gear, AK's spread out among us, and even a SAW. So, the five of us decide to go to the NWAF for the first time, we heard the stories about how dangerous the NWAF was, but we thought, "Hey, we're five bad asses, who would want to mess with us?" I was the appointed navigator, because I had one of the only map and compass combos, and looked on one of the loot maps on the wiki, and saw a barracks close to us on the south eastern tip, so we decide to go there and flew out muscles. We were in the barracks (this was still the time where we pissed ourselves at the sight of a zombie closer than 20 meters) having successfully crawling in their, legs shaking because of all of the zombies. We walk in their and it's the god of loot came down to personally grace us with loot, there was an M4A3 CCO, an M24, and even an AKS-74 KOBRA.(At the time, that was still a great gun for us) We're taking all of the stuff, and then I peek my head out of the room I'm in, and I ask, "Hey guys, who has the bandit skin, it looks awesome!" Because one of them looking at a pile of loot on the ground. Then one of them replied,"Erm... Tripp? We're all still nooblet survivors." (heed me, me and another guy, *****Shadow were the only two people in there, the others were watching outside) "Wait, then who just got it, there's a guy standing at the end of the hallway?" *****Shadow comes out of his room and looks at him like,"Wut." The guy turns around, (We still think he's someone in out ground who isn't talking) and unloads several bullets into 'Shadow. My bambi senses are tingling, so I bolt, trying to run outside the door, I just make it past the doorway when I hear a couple of shots, my legs break, and I see my blood count down from 140-0. My group is screaming around me, (in skype) asking what's going on,"Please kill him :(" They walk in there, he's looting our bodies. Revenge was nice, but it was still my first trip to NWAF.

    Being a Hero

DayZ's #1 rule, never trust anyone!

    Being a Hero

That was my general excuse. But on that particular server, I melded in with one of the bandit groups.

    Being a Hero

Discovering that the new bandit skin was back, I turned on everyone on one of my servers, while we were having a 'barbecue', I had an M249 SAW, and I just stood up while everyone was in the sitting position, and shot them, there were around 10-15 people there. Some got up in time to run away, but I had already reverted to the bandit skin, and I was happy.

Looking for someone to play with on my server

Besides offering AI, make the name of the server big, demanding, and noticeable on something like DayZ commander, people like a lot of vehicles, good loot etc.

Implying that we harm the people we heal! But most legitimate also have some rules in place, to keep them alive. Like, if I hail someone and they don't respond, I'll make my way some where else, to prevent a fight. It'd be fairly hard to 'exsterminate' them all.

    Being a Hero

Jeez, I joined a Namalsk server recently, this is about my second or third playing Namalsk, so I was kind of a noob. This server has about 25-40 people on, most of the time, so I felt pretty good about becoming a hero. Then I learned, there was only one hospital, with one of the only supermarkets next to it. This was before I found out how hard it was to find food. so I jaunt on over there, and woe and behold, there's a player being nommed on by some zed, I beat them off with the Makarov I started with, get a blood bag from the guys backback, and heal him up. He ha this really nice skin on(I now know it was warm clothing) He says thank you, and I ask him about it. All of a sudden, he gets VERY defesive, saying stuff like, "You know, you can't take people's skins if you kill them." I tried to assure him that I was just asking what it was, he runs off, telling me to keep my distance, he skulks off, his name was CrippleingToken, or some such. Does this normally happen, people doing this over the warm clothes?

    Being a Hero

Another little update, there was a call of side-chat, requesting me to run to the Polana general store for a blood transfusion. I run there, through the forest, and when I'm about to break the tree-line, I see two guys, one with a DMR, the oher with an M16A4 ACOG sitting on the tree line, guns directed at the general store. I scroll over their names, woe and behold, one of them is the guy who called me. Feeling a bit hurt that someone tried to lay an ambush for me, I shot them both. Just got a question, was me killing them justified?

    Being a Hero

Another little story, me and my friend were running around in the fields in between Starry and Novy. My friend had chosen a different walk of like as a bandit. So, we were running around, talking, when all of a sudden, an AS50 shoots my friend. I dive for cover, and another hero runs up to me and says, "You alright? I got that bandit guy for you, I think he was about to shoot you!" I'm a nice guy, but he had just shot my friend. Needless to say, I now have an AS50.
