    If they want to do this then it should at least be plausible. Like giving the military zombies who are wearing a plate carrier (or throw in infected journalists with the press vest) some more resistance to body shots that would hit the ballistic plates. Anything else I'm fine with them going down in one shot, it's not like I'll turn around to take pot shots at them if there is a horde on my ass. People seem to forget that we are nowhere near the intended role for zombies in the game yet. No need to go tinkering with the infected buggers on the individual level.

    At the end of the day all something like that would do is give rise to the amount of 24/7 daytime servers and every nighttime server would be virtually empty.

    Just a note here, when the provider isn't listed we don't know who to report to. Would be nice if the server provider is always displayed in details.

    Or just physically knock down or disable them. You're not gonna keep coming at me if I've just shattered your sternum, popped a kneecap or hit anywhere along the deadly T for that matter. There's many factors at play here, calibre, point of impact, bullet behaviour once inside the body.. Not that all of it can be recreated in a game but DayZ deals in infected human beings, not supernatural-superhuman undead.

    Zombies will be dangerous enough even if they die from a single shot when there simply is a lot more of them. I doubt SA will fall into the same trap the mod did when they tried to up PvE "difficulty" by making the zeds walking AI wallhacks with 3km pin point hearing.. appearing out of thin air like ghosts all over the map.

    And that is why we double tap with preferably a high stopping power calibre such as a .45. I don't care if the damn zed cares... it's physically getting stopped. You can always put one extra in for good measure once they go down Edit: I do that 2 bambi.. ehr players too btw :P

    Going with the lore of DayZ here: They're infected with a rabies like string that makes them aggresive as fuck and lose all but the most basic cognitive function. They're still human beings, they're still going to die when you damage the right bits. Now that they might take some more hits from certain calibres I can understand, plenty a drugged out wanker has taken more than a couple of 9mm hits to go down.. But headshots only? No

    Nothing out of balance in the weapons in the mod to begin with. A buddy and me have pwned 4 guys who came riding in with a huey using an AKM and a lee-enfield. A bullet is still a bullet and these guys where catching loads of them before they knew what happened. This isn't cod where the guy with the higher-unlock has a distinct advantage regardless of skill.

  14. Make interaction mandatory and stop KoS? Think for a second. I know what will happen for me. I allready interact all the time since I'm playing with a crew ranging anywhere from 2 guys to 5 guys at any given time. Anyone outside that group will be killed as soon as the oppurtunity presents itself.

    Well not saying it's impossible of course. I'm reasoning from a first shot hit. Hitting something beyond 800m with a 7.62mm is very well possible but chance becomes a large factor and a first shot hit becomes unlikely even for a well trained sniper. In the mod we'd put down (non stationary) ppl from a max of 1300m but that took a hell of a lot of trial and error. Anyone in dayz will be long gone after the first impact near them. And right now long range shooting isn't all that viable anyway since someone with a lot of gear on him takes so many friggin hits to die :P

    There's no weapon in that is viable at 1000m right now though. Anything over 800 you'd go for either a lapua or a .50 BMG

  18. It defines hopping as the source of the perceived problem being KoS. If anything the anti server hopping measures have made it easier to get guns, not harder since not every military spawn you get to is robbed blind yet. Not that curbing guns would matter. I'd still axe people to death just for the lolz.

    Shooter - Spotter. Classic. In the mod me and a mate used to have 2 sniper rifles with us but in the case of only one target one would get a rangefinder out and call the distance.. Good times hearing your buddy say "sending it!" and then watching the red puff on the targets head ^_^

    I see how a damaged sight would fuck with your accuracy especially if it screws over your zeroing. Handguards... not so much unless they're that damaged that you can't properly hold the weapon anymore. Still would mess with your aim, not so much the accuracy. You could correct for a sight being off if you adjust by the fall of shot.. I doubt the dayz weps have that consistency at this point. Maybe we'll get there at some point ^_^ Right now I too make sure to look for those pristine magpul beauty's :P
