Regardless of how it is installed, if you are using the same CD key you will have the same DayZ character.

Ok So i installed the game via steam if i load arma2 through steam librarby, and load a DayZ server - I connects me to my pre-existing character So now I have a £50 Character testing this alpha. Any ideas how I can get the CDKEY from steam and enter it into the Reg, or does DayZ do something mental like log your PC ID and only allow one account per PC? Looking at the registry, steam has updated my ARMA2 key, but not my ARMA OA key so DayZ is looking in my reg, getting my OLD key and using it to tie me into my OLD account How can I apply my new CD key into the registry? it appears to be encoded

I don't actually use steam for my current Arma2:, I downloaded it from another online shop (cheaper at the time) If I install a version of Arma2 via steam, will this still work? or will it overwrite my none steam version cdkey ?

Greetings, I was wondering if anyone had any concrete info on using two CDkeys to play Arma 2. Some of you may recognise my name from my youtube channel where I produced a beginners guide (when I was a beginner) and more recently high end videos showing Ghillie/M24/DMR and Squad play. Since the new patch dropped I am itching to experience the new beginners experience however I don't really want to suicide a 7 day old character geared to the teeth. I am more than willing to buy a second set of Arma2+Arrowhead retail keys to facilitate my ability to produce content for new players. Does anyone out there currently swap between CD keys to effectively have two DayZ accounts. All the posts I have been able to find previously have been 'you could try' 'maybe you could install it twice' but no follow up on how it turned out.
