I basically don't like the different zombie types because is doesn't make sense to me in the in game fiction. I don't see how the same disease would cause all these outcomes. But I'm not a writer. Maybe they could convince me. -

My idea was that FF off could be an option(server optional) that you choose when you make your caharacter. All the people who choose friendly fire would not be able to kill eachother. Meaning they are looking to team up . These people could stil be killed by people who don't want to choose this option. It would create a divide in players who want to team up and those who want to watch it burn. But people here are crazy control freaks who think the way somone else plays on a private hive server effects the way they play on thier own. It's freakin insane. -

I guess I'm not really making this clear. It would not be team based. Basically i was using this term because it would be easy to designate the no FF option to one "team" This would just allow people to trust people easier. Really I just want this so I can play this game occaisonally and still be able to find people to play with. And maybe not you as much but condesension is the overall tone of the replys. So I stand by my "get the fuck off your high horse" or maybe your just don't know what that saying means. -

It has been suggested. But it's been suggested because it's a good idea. I personally think it's too difficult to design so they made up an in game excuse for not having infection.

PLEASE GET THE FUCK OFF YOUR HIGH HORSES FOR A SECOND. I play dayz 2017 becaues I like the realism and scarcity. THIS IS JUST TO MAKE IT EASIER TO FIND LIKE MINDED PLAYERS. SERVER OPTIONAL SERVER OPTIONAL SERVER OPTIONAL. PRIVATE HIVE. Nobody would be forced into no FF You could play on that server and STILL KILL EVERYONE . But seriously fuck it. Most Dayz players are going to see this post as invitation to boldly proclaim how hardcore they are rather than actually thinking through what I'm trying to say. Edit; or bash console games like cod or bf3. easy targets. -

Why is this a problem if they are private hive private server? I prefer the Dayz 2017 mod myself but the way people play on a server with crazy starting loadouts and tons of vehicles does not effect how I play on my favorite servers. Its just kind of whining. Women use a smaller balls in the WNBA, it does not effect my enjoyment of the NBA, -

I'm really just suggesting things that will make it easier for more casual people to enjoy the game while not affecting the way hardcore people want to play it. But I get it. There is only ONE way to enjoy dayz and it is YOUR way. I'll say it again because it needs to be said. You need new players coming in to be fodder for the elite. If all you have is the hardcore vs the hardcore those numbers shrink and shrink until you have about 1000 super Dayz grognards who live in dayz and THATS IT! It's the influx of new blood that makes multiplayer live. -

I saw your smiley and I didn't tell you to fuck off. I just put as much thought into my response as you did in yours. I think people are getting hung up on the "team" thing. Basically you would just be choosing an option to not kill certain players. Team no-ff could have 3 people on it and 47 on the team kill everyone. And when you say private server options are ruining the game that's kinda like saying gay marriage is destroying your traditional marriage. Who cares what people do in other servors or in thier own house? -

This game is going to be fun for hardcore players no matter what. Options like this will give less hardcore players a chance to enjoy the game allowing an influx of fresh meat for the hardcore to feed on. -
I would still have fun if I could climb ladders well and fall from 2 feet off the ground without breaking a leg.

True enough my man. I have come across grenades but for the way I play I havn't used them yet. You make a valid point of the downside of no-ff. The ability to make yourself look unique would defnitely help a lot. But to give the clothing any real meaning you would have to attach an artificial barrier to it. Like recieving a gold baseball cap for not shooting on sight for a certain amount of hours. -

I hear you Clumzy. But I don't really like slippery slope arguments in general and DayZ is not real life. And this definately speaks to my level of play but I've never even seen a satchel charge. The scenario you just painted sounds like fantastical dreamland to me. For somone like me who doesn't get to play as much I'd like the option I suggested would streamline meeting up with like minded players. -

I figured it had been discussed so I did a forum search and I failed to find what I was looking for. But team1 vs team2 is not really what I'm suggesting. All you would be doing is opting out of killing certain players. If you wanted to you could choose to kill everyone. And again, server optional. -
Since there are no zombies in the game shouldn't the Z be taken away? I know that Z day is just another way of saying last day, but it just remind me too much of the novel World War Z. Seems like it's attaching itself to the current zombie craze with the walking dead and such, It also seems to cause confusion as tons of people still call them zombies.

I saw the trailer on a hulu add I believe it and peaked my interest. Found it was a book first and read that. Really great. Then I rewatched the trailer and thought it as you say.........shit. The first 45 minutes are reportedly amazing but the rest has been through several rewrites. Anyways it the movie looks like it doesn't resembles the book at all. If you havn't yet it's well worth the read or at least give the criminally abridged book on tape a listen. And Australia is the best. Spent 6 months in Perth. Nicest people in the world.

Yeah, I actually totally agree that slow zombies would need a change to the map that is not reasonable for the SA. I just don't like people saying "slow zombies too easy" and moving on like it's not even worth discussing.

Thanks for the time my friend, What your saying is that slow zombies can present a challenge but it's just not what you want. I'll adress your responses. 1. This could easily be fixed by not allowing zeds to open doors. Meaning a building teaming with zombies would have to be cleared out room by room. 2. Unless your being chased by zeds out of town when do you worry about zeds in the wilderness? 3. Of course silly goose. Now zeds run indoors too so fucking better pick that gear up quick.
