I used to be afraid and care. Now I let the zombies kill me time and time again until I spawn in a place near Elektro/Cherno - fresh spawns has nothing to loose. I avoid firefights in PvP areas, unless neccesary. Once I got the basic survival gear, I am picked up by my friends in a vehicle and we head up north to loot parts for the car and gear. Possibly picking up other fresh spawned friends on the way. On the side: I wish there was no vehicles in DayZ at all...

I take them for players like myself, not KoS every time he meets another player. Then I go from there by conversation. If he does not answer, I shoot him like everybody else. Or get shot like anybody else...

Craux, what do you want to say with your topic? First you tell everybody you are new to the game, then you're saying you want to stalk bandits in the woods at nighttime - it makes no sense, 100% chance of bullet in the head. Where are you going with this? What do you want?

I see endless possibilities: -Imagine having 20 zombies chasing you in the SA - and your dump-o-meter is down to blinking red... -You can track down another player by following his "leads" -You can leave your kind regards in front of every single tent in that bandit camp, you just found ...etc etc

I just realized, I have been a lone wolf for too long. I guess I am looking for one or two mature players. It does'nt matter if you are a newbie, as I can find my way around Chernorus and a couple of unofficial maps for us both, blindfolded. But I do prefer players who already decided this is the right game for them, and you should be able to play at least 2-3 evenings every week around timezone GMT+1. I am not interested in joining TheLocalHillbillyMarineSpecialBoatServiceRifleAssociation (= wear a clantag). But if nobody shows up, I would as an alternative like to join a group of bandit hunters. I play on public servers, but if you found your home on a private server, I'd be happy to try something new.

Czech backpack, matches, hunting knife and hatchet and I am all good to go. Any silenced weapon is heaven to me (I actually prefer hatchet over a non-silenced gun) Camo clothing over a ghillie, a strictly aestethic choice. Sometimes an assault rifle to defend myself, but M1911 is enough until I find a M9 SD or a M4A1 CCO SD. Next target is a tent and the woods for me :)

That's why I refuse to play on small private hive servers - there is always a reason why the admin built his own kingdom with admin panel and all..

I think Script Restrictions #40, 41, 44 and 45 = scripts.txt is not fixed during setup by the serveradmin. Only takes 5 mins. I googled it.

I dont mind keeping my character, but bandits and zeds have quite the contrary opinion on that subject. Trust me, starting over again and again becomes boring, too!

Heatpacks does not work at all, they are completely obsolete. But sit by the fire in about 1 minute, and your coughing stops. This could also be a burning oilbarrel.

If you want to sell the idea of this game to anybody you'd want by your side (and not some triggerhappy BF3 airhead) you would have to manipulate him a bit and put weight on the survival part. When indicating DayZ is not "kill or be killed shooter no. 14100 to be released this year", the poor fellow think friendly survivors and bad zombies - and you let him ;) After 14 days of playing, he or she is: 1. Still with you or 2. Once again installed in front of Minecraft or Civilization V.. This game is nothing but BF3 in slowmotion for people 40+, disguised by an apocalyptic story only made to reduce weapons and vehicles. But to survive, you have to get better at looting and shooting other people, not being able to settle or build a camp, always on the run. And I hate myself for investing precious time to just hunt skills and get better at shooting out of pure need. We all just want a good time with our friends and not spend a billion lightyears hunting the far too sparse gear. Because life is short, tomorrow is work again. All you really want is a ride in that boat with your friends on TS and loot that island, or whatever. I do'nt care shit about that kid who wants to shoot me, it's like he needs our attention and say "hey I am here too and you better notice me, or you are dead!" Annoying like hell... If DayZ does not provide these few spare hours of quality time and let hackers and losers take your gear again and again, I guess it is time to move on for the sake of humanity, the economic world crisis, and our family lives. ...So that is just what Old Grumpy here did. And if I may say, it sure feels nice not following the sheep herd anymore, waiting for the next big advertised thing (SA) :) Like Major Lazer says, get free :)

YANCY, I think you need to step down. I spent three weeks of looting to find only 2 pair of NVGs. Being newbie is ok, but when everybody say your offers are unreasonable and you do not listen, you will eventually be ignored. Ok?

I'm Danish. I will definately look for you on the swedish and german servers, but I am not very keen to join clans or anything with ranks and their need for waterboys :)
