This may have been answered already, but I am going to ask anyway. When you log in and immediately need to drink, is this something that will be adjusted in the future or is this a game mechanic that will continue? Just curious.

I passed a field full of sheep on my way home from work yesterday. All that I could do was think that each of those bitches could give me 5 steaks! -
So I was going to meet up with a buddy. He was on Teamspeak with me, so I told him to just let me know when he got close to the spot in the forest where I despawned and I would log back in to the server. He gets close... I log in... and just lay down on muh belly while I wait on the side of this hill under a tree. On my belly, I crawl around the trunk... bump it... crawl a little more.. bump the tree again and die. :angel: Death by Fir. *sigh* Luckily, the flies guided him to my corpse when he was nearby. I respawned at the coast and jogged the 4km back to where we were meeting... and got my loot back. But I lost my 6 day count and 250 kill count. :/ Ah well... could've been much worse. Just thought it was kinda funny... :)

Exactly! It was on the side of the hill and I could see the roots of the tree sticking out... that is all that I can think of that would've caused it. :p -
Just a thought... will probably be unpopular, but... Perhaps resetting all players to base equipment each time the game is patched?

LOL. I hit a deer stand after the patc last night. Killed 3 zeds... another 2 popped up... killed them... then it was a freaking terror spawn from hell. I made it into a building with like 20 behind me! -

Find a couple of rally points just inland that you can get to solo without much trouble and go from there. You will get used to what you can handle and where you can get good gear for starting. Once you have that, then you are immediately at an advantage for survival. If you die, get to one of your points, gear up, and move inland. I found that my first lives were shorter because I didn't realize that my guy could cope with a lot more than I had initially thought. My caution let my last life go for 20 days (I was killed on spawning after that) and have quite a bit of fun just feeling out the game. My newest life is only on day 4 I think, but I have better gear and an almost equal kill count than I had accumulated on my previous incarnation... ... it is just a matter of getting used to the game.

This is actually a really awesome idea. Maybe an available skin in the finished product could be that of a bus driver.

Deciding when another player is a threat.

Usually if a player is moving, then I consider them hostile. Outside of that, the only time I will shoot another player is if they are not moving. -

The Bandit game is very difficult, but only when you are fighting other bandits or organized forces. The Bandit game is easy when playing against those assuming a non-hostile survivor role. -
WWII Online Battleground Europe had a similar system.... worked like a champ.

So what is a socially acceptable time to disconnect in a long range fire fight? Here is why I ask: Three of us were leaving Stary last night to the NNE. About halfway between the town and deer stand, shots rang out from the rise to the east. One friend is hit, but not dead. He and my other friend hit the dirt. I am out in the open in the field, so I start juking to the west and find some cover. A few rounds hit near me, but nothing connects. I end up making it to the hill by Stary and scanning for the source of fire, but find nothing. My other friends patch up and work toward the treeline. So after we are shot at, there was probably a good 7 - 10 minute span where the sniper could have finished us off... but we never heard anything else. We ended up leaving then... Personally, I don't think that qualifies as disconnecting in a PvP fight, but what about you guys?

Thanks. I feel okay about it because I was moving out in the open and not getting shot at fir a few minutes, but since is can be interpreted differently, I will just be more cognizant in the future. Thanks guys. -

LOL... nah, I felt okay about it, but everything is subjective and I just wanted to sort of validate that I am operating within the loosely defined parameters surrounding the disconnects. Basically, I don't want my name on (another) list. :p
