    Shaking Hands w/Compass & Binoculars only?

    Have you been eating human meat? Eating human meat can give you Kuru, which makes you laugh/cry uncontrollably and shake. It's not like the cold shakes (Which is shivery and more of a vibrating shake.) but almost like someone is thwacking your gun really hard every couple seconds.
  2. Have not played in a long while... Do the new zombies still have buggy detection? What put me off a ton was the fact that even if prone sometimes zombies across the map would somehow get agro'd and rush me, and once they become agro'd it's nearly impossible to lose them.

    Does swimming still cause one to lose gear?

    I remember back in the mod swimming used to make your backpack/items on your back fall off randomly. Think it was an intended feature. Not sure if it happens in Standalone, but I assume so.

    That bug still exists, at least on stable. Have not tried experimental yet.

    Is the double barrel broken again?

    I have not toyed with the double barrel or sawn off much. I remember there used to be slug ammo for the shotguns. Wonder why it was removed? Sure firing slugs out of a sawn off is a bit "weird" but why remove it?

    DayZtv twitter says it was "Postponed" and "Shit happens." I assume the testing didn't go so well. Either way I assume we might see it next week? Maybe even this weekend? I dunno if the devs work on weekends.

    Fire Weapons

    Eh a mini flamethrower could be possible. Find some spraypaint and a match or something, and spray. Could have a chance to blow up and kill the player, etc. Molotovs would be fun. Only issue is the engine. I dunno if Arma can simulate fire on the ground, or have players being set ablaze and taking damage over time, etc.
  9. I am curious if a FAMAS bullpup rifle will be added, athough it would make almost no sense to find a french rifle in Cherno. I think a CZ-75 Automatic pistol could easily be added, since the semi varient is already in the game.

    Several people on the reddit say the FPS was improved. http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/2tynul/dayz_servers_are_back_up/ Hopefully 0.53 is released on stable today.

    DayZ minimum/recommended Specs and your rig

    i7-3820 processor 560ti video card, windows 7 64bit. "Ok" fps in forests (Around 40ish?) but in cities I drop to like 5 FPS. Yes my rig isn't the best out there, but surely the optimization can be improved.
  12. I think the zombies use a RNG based sight system, meaning the closer you are, the higher chance they "Spot" you and become agro'd every second or so. This results in weirdness like zombies seeing you a mile away in the dark, etc. Also, the zombies still phase through walls.
  13. Currently, infections in DayZ seem way too deadly, especially considering how rare antibiotics are and how common infections are triggered from zombie attacks. What if we had two distinct types of infections? The first type of infection would be a "Regular" infection triggered by normal zombies, cold temperatures, non cooked food/non boiled water, rarely triggered by regular wounds, being close to infected players, infected blood bags, etc. (Basicly how infections are triggered normally in dayZ) This infection works almost exactly like the current infections, coughing, blood dropping from 2/3 to 1/4 (Instead of killing the player) spreading to other players in close contact, etc. However, if the player stays warm, well fed, and hydrated, as well as "Resting" (By not running around much) the infection will go away on its own after a few hours. As the infection clears up, the blood level will very slowly return to whatever it was before the player was infected. (Blood lost from damage however will not be restored) It can also be cured by antibiotics, which will cure it instantly. (Blood level will return to normal slightly faster then by waiting for the immune system to fight it off) The second type of infection would be the "Zombie Plague". This is only triggerd by the viral "Super Zombie" varients. Unlike the "Normal" infection, it causes the players blood to drop steadily untill he dies (Basicly the current infection behavior in 1.7.7) The only way to cure it is by antibiotics, resting will have no effect on it. This allows antibiotics to still be useful while making "Normal" infections less of a death sentance.
  14. So we'll be able to wear burlap sacks on our heads? Why can't we cut little eye holes in it so the wearer can see? Once the chainsaw is added I want to be exactly like El Salvador from Resident Evil 4.

    Getting naked

    No they removed nudity? Half of the fun was the absurd hilarity of a completely nude guy somehow assembling an m4 out of thin air and mowing down other nude people. XD

    Drones

    Hell yeah, drop hellfire missiles on the zombies! But seriously, it seems a little too much. Maybe surveillance drones, but combat drones would be a bad idea.
  17. What would be interesting to test is how much protection the ballistic and motorcycle helmet offer. Does the location of the round matter? Like will a bike helmet protect against one .45 round? (Weakest round in the S.A. atm) Does the shot placement matter? Like will the bullet hitting the helmet square on or in the visor (Which I think is weaker IRL) do more damage compared to one that glances off the side? Does distance from the shooter effect the amount of damage? etc.

    Sewing kits?

    What about using them to sew up your wounds, increasing your health? (Would ONLY work with zombie attacks or gunshot/melee wounds. Wouldn't work with hunger/thirst damage, sicknesses, or hypo/hyperthermia.)

    Do you support "Killing on sight"?

    I got problems with KOSing unarmed men. Once i was KOS'd 4 fucking times in a row by the same group of people, ALL of them I was unarmed. It's not funny to have your brains blown out by a mosin for the 4th time within a couple minutes, even if you announce your friendly. Sadly, because of this, I blow people's brains out on sight, afraid they'll do the same to me. Likewise, they will now now begin to kill on sight, and the people they kill might get fed up and also KOS. The results of all of this? Eventually, dayZ will just become DayZ of Duty: Zombie Op's.

    m4 spawn nerf too much?

    Ironically it's the opposite for me. I find m4's and PLENTY of ammo if one server hops at NWAF. However, aside from NWAF, I never really find guns. I find so many magnums sometimes it's not even funny. The problem? I only found ammo once. For the semi auto pistol, I find ammo uncommonly, but the gun almost never, and mags I think only once. Mosin ammo I find pretty often, but again, NEVER ONCE found a mosin. Where are they? They are not in houses, and not in the NWAF as far as I know. Meanwhile I get my brains blown out 4 separate times by several people within a few minutes, all of them have mosins, where are they getting them from?

    Energy and melee

    I like it, but what if we had a "Stamina" stat instead? Like if you run around a lot or melee a lot you burn through it and also reduce energy? (Kinda like l4d2 where if you melee a lot you have to wait a few seconds.)
