It all depends on which part manufacturer you choose, really. Some AMD manu's are cheaper in every sense of the word, and same goes for all the other brands. You never get an MSI NVIDIA card hehe. Also, depending on what you plan on using your comp for, some manufacturers make better parts for gaming, processing, rendering, etc etc.

Woah shit! That's not good. Have you watched the clips outside of Vegas? Maybe the recording software is funky, or some settings are off on it. Are they both legitimate copies of the software?

Does it render blocky? Because the preview box on Vegas shows everything as blocky unless you have it preview render at higher quality (which reaaaally runs down your system).

I usually have it on for maybe 6 hour stints per day? That's for my laptop. Desktop runs on Friday - Sunday maximum 30 hours?

I can run DayZ at 30fps tops and I have a pretty high end comp. The only thing is, it depends on if you're using the computer as a workhorse or a gaming system. Mine is a workhorse, and I play games a lot on it. FPS doesn't matter too much to me, so I never get the fuss over it all :\

If he's just going to be playing games, that is too much. Unless he plans on rendering out Blender files at the 11th hour... A standard intel i5 2.8GHz, 8Gbs RAM at 1600, 1Tb HDD, 750 watt PSU, and a 1Gb NVIDIA/AMD card will do wonders for a gamer.

I had my Electras from Jan. 2012 to July 2013, and they worked wonders. I highly recommend them IF you want to have them for only about a year and a half. The earcups are great but bust about 14 months after you get the headphones (just after warranty, coincidentally). I contacted the support to see if I could buy a new pair or two of earcups, and they responded with "we do not sell the earcups on the Razer Electras because they are non-detachable". When I could get them off fine. *sigh* Otherwise the headphones are great. I was thinking about getting a pair of the Hammerheads to replace the headphones. I miss earbuds too much ^_^ Also I need great sound quality because of music production and mastering and such. Cheers!
