Didnt buy anything in addition to what? I assume you bought Combined Operations, and if his crosshair has sharp textures he bought a package which already includes BAF (Arma X or Arma 2 Complete Collection).
-
You have to own the BAF DLC in order to get hi-res textures on the AS50, since it comes with the BAF DLC and is only low-res if you don't own it.

Really bad fps on pretty good pc (all details included)
nik21 replied to dzrealkiller's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Remove the cpucount launch parameters, it's nonsense. -
60+ fps is actually very important in games where low reaction times are needed. The lower the framerate, the higher the input-lag. It also depends on the game and Engine, Arma 2 is actually very playable with 40+ fps while games like Battlefield/ Counter-Strike don't play very well under 60 fps.

Getting a new Mainboard will most likely require a fresh OS install. There are cheaper alternatives than the 3570 (e.g. 3550P, 3470) which you can overclock slightly (up to 4,2 GHz I believe) by adjusting the turbo.
-
A 3570K wouldn't make any sense as you can not use the open multiplier with an H61 Chipset mainboard.

SetVariable Value #86 Breaking Point
nik21 replied to Codename_Tick's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
You will get kicked from servers that have this very entry in their setvariableval.txt as soon as you do something that puts you in the log. tl;dr change your name, problem solved. -
Post the exact kick message, otherwise noone will be able to help you.

SetVariable Value #86 Breaking Point
nik21 replied to Codename_Tick's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
The kick is most likely caused by your name (Codename_Tick) See line #98 in the setveriableval.txt https://code.google.com/p/dayz-community-banlist/source/browse/filters/setvariableval.txt 5 "code" -
Fify But seriously, read (or in this case: watch) before you post nonsense.

Counter Hacks? HACK ALL THE HACKERS!!!
nik21 replied to whitefur22's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
"Counter-Hacking" doesen't make any sense at all in this game. Think before you post. -
Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking.
-
Dafak did I just read.
-
The "blurryness" of the overall game/ compass is caused by the low 3D resolution you've set. If I was playing on 960x540 I wouldn't wonder why my game is blurry..
-
Are you using Arma 2 Free?
-
Doubt that steam's verification will repair it as the file is not part of the actual game. Easiest way would be to completely delete your @dayz folder, create a new one and then extract the full 1.7.6.1 Client (http://fr1.dayz.nu/) to your @dayz/ Addons folder.

*The drivers I would rather aim to get a 690, as it has the performance of 2 680's but less issues with microstuddering etc (even though it's not needed at all for ONE Full HD Monitor). Also, you can't change the view distance in DayZ as it's fixed server-side. And depending on the server you might still get less than 50 frames, just sayin.
-
Doesen't matter as the OP's system and performance is different from yours.
-
http://www.computerbase.de/artikel/prozessoren/2012/test-amd-fx-8350-vishera/32/ I don't think it would make much difference (<3 fps).

battleye: player variable value restriction #48
nik21 replied to Loading (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
So change your name/ profile. (See smasht's post) -
There is your problem.

Bullshit, those settings won't do anything to his FPS as his Video card usage is only about 35% and all the Settings you mentoied are GPU dependant. And the GPU is definately not the bottleneck here. Again, AA and postprocessing are not relavant to the OPs frames, in fact he could even turn the 3D Resolution higher than his actualy monitor resolution to downsample the game and increase the image quality without bottlenecking his fps at all, his GPU has more than enough resources. View distance in the game options won't do anything as it's not relevant to multiplayer/ server-side (tl;dr View Distance is fixed in DayZ). To the OP, your fps are alright. The bottlenecking part is your CPU (Running the game on SSD/ Ramdisk will reduce/ eliminate stutter, but most likely not improve your overall fps), there's not really anything you can do about it apart from turning down CPU dependant settings. The DayZ mod is kinda poorly optimized also and all the zombies/ extra objects in comparison to the SP do have heavy impact on performance, especially since the main threads of Arma 2 are only running on 1 or 2 cores.

"banned for no reason".Fact or Fiction?
nik21 replied to taco241's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Registred today and 1 post. Tells me enough... I have yet to see any trusted long-time ARMA community member banned "for no reason".
