And because they know they are facing at least weekly banwaves while they felt secure with their private cheats.. until now.

Battleye is now on experimental servers.

A possible way to get rid of the hackers?
nik21 replied to Anarki (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
DayZ is actually limited to Steam and you can not purchase it twice. However cheaters can, as mentioned above, simply create a new steam account - they have to re-purchase the game at full price again, though. -

So what would be "real Chat Security"? Why are you saying that BE is crap? And now don't come up with made up "facts" or some other bullshit.. Both will be used, in fact VAC has been enabled since Day 1... Also, a VAC ban only affects the game that has been cheated on, except for some HL1- and Source-Engine Games (for more info read here). There are always multiple ways to bypass any AC-Software, however BE is known to have a very fast reaction time and high detection rate on both public and private cheats unlike most other anticheats.. Unlike in Arma 2 (OA), it also will be able to ban cheaters effectively from the game since DayZ is Steam-only - no more CD-Key theft, no more cheap game keys. Also, technicially BE bans will be more effective than VAC bans because they will now carry over to other BE games on Steam - that means banned in Arma 3, banned in DayZ - banned in DayZ, banned in Arma 3. -
... So what?
-
VAC bans are per game, engine bans are only for Valve source games afaik (you can play MW3 with MW2 VAC banned for example and you can play CS:GO with CS:S banned).

Is Arma Engine not AMD processor friendly ?
nik21 replied to [email protected]'s topic in General Discussion
What matters is the raw power of the CPU and not it's manufacturer. Current Core i CPUs simply have more power per core than current AMD processors which makes them perform better in most games.. Ofc it also depends on your video settings, the scene that is currently being rendered etc. But I am really tired of seeing bs threads stating that the performance is dependant on the hardware manufacturer - why the hell should it be? You can't "optimize" a game for a specific CPU manufacturer... claiming that is just stupid and proves lack of knowledge. It's like saying "This game is badly optimized for nvidia cards, my GTX 8800 can barely run this while my friend has a HD 7970 and it's from AMD... OMG!!" -
Because you know Jackshit. It actually is enabled by Steamworks.

Player gets global banned, logs back in no problems. says it was a glitch?
nik21 replied to haywardgb's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Are you 100% sure it is the same GUID? Is your game server connected to the BE Master? -
What about client performance & optimization (multithreading etc.)?

Patches can always be found on arma2.com: http://www.arma2.com/supply/game-updates/756-arma-2-combined-operations--operation-arrowhead--reinforcements-patch-1.html

Public value restriction #74 - the immortal bug?
nik21 replied to Myjacy's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I strongly believe that this issue is connected to his name, as soon as he executes an action that gets logged to a specific filter he will get kicked because his name contains a certain String that is blacklisted by the specific filter (that's at least what happens in most cases). Are you playing on DayZ vanilla? I would try changing the name/ profile and see if the problem persists. -
Public value restriction #74 - the immortal bug?
nik21 replied to Myjacy's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
What's his ingame name? -
I bet it was a server issue, it makes no sense whatsoever why it should run better with 3 cores.
-
What if I told you that he already has 6 GB? /thread A new processor will do the trick, however you'd still have to play on low settings/ resolution as the video card is pretty low-end as well - also you will need a new motherboard and new RAM (CPU won't fit on your current socket and DDR3 RAM is required).

You're probably banned by BEC or a similar admin tool for having CE open (BE Kick: GameHack #38). You need to find out wether you're banned on specific servers only or if he's on the streamed/ shared banlist of the used admin tool, in which case he has to contact an admin of the tool. Emailing BE won't get you anywhere due to it being an admin ban (technicially, it's probably streamed across servers via the admin tool). Also, you should be more specific about the kick message... can't tell if it's 100% what I think it is.
-
This ain't DayZ, with this system he should at least get ~30 fps in cities. So there appears to be a problem... are you HW temperatures okay? What software is running in the background?
-
Global Bans are permanent, and I won't give you any further info on how to play on BE enabled servers again.
-
No. And noone "hacked your DayZ"... you either attempted to cheat or downloaded some shit and executed it. If you actually got your key stolen, contact BI support. If not, don't.
-
v2 replaces v1 which was deprecated as insecure. Leaving it off (0) is an open door for cheaters.
-
There was lag and the guy with the Glock had nothing to do with the crash.
-
No, I had a good day, thanks. You're doing something useful? Reporting people as hackers when they're most likely not... because they broke your heli? Do you think it takes cheating do disable a heli or what? You're the only one acting like a jackass here, coming up with some bs and likely blaming innocent people and then assaulting me for pointing out that just because someone broke a heli it doesen't mean they're cheating? Why should cheaters combat-log anyway? Also, you can see the GUID of every connected client by typing "#beclient players". Good day.
-
Definately. Not. 0 proof and saying that they are "hackers" because they broke a heli? Srsly...

setpos.log entry (not sure if a hack or normal)
nik21 replied to haywardgb's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Erm... if the entry is a #0, the player definately should've been kicked since the first line of the official setPos filter (assuming you're using that) is a 5. -
Actually, it's possible to change the damage value of any weapon (and other stuff) via memory hack (can turn tin cans in grenades, 9mm bullets into bombs etc.).
