Afterburner is a GPU tool, it just displays stuff like fps/ GPU load/ temperature/ memory load etc. It is not a recording tool.
-
Yes they can, however server admins can find out easily by checking their remotecontrol.log & selectplayer.log.
-
I'd say the frames are alright for a laptop. Considering that you probably got a 5400 rpm HDD in this thing,
-
I'd assume Admin Ban.
-
Sounds annoying.
-
No, as it will be linked to steam. The only way would be account theft, but that's another story..

Banned For Teleporting. Didn't teleport.
nik21 replied to Arrix's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
He said hive server.. ofc admins can do what they want on a private hive. -
You can not be globally banned for something like this ( = scripts being injected into a server), however a server admin can ban you for it if he he doesen't recognize the real origin of the scripts.

Banned For Teleporting. Didn't teleport.
nik21 replied to Arrix's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Server admins can't teleport you. Unless they're cheating themselves. -
I'm pretty sure they will do something in this direction, however there's more important things to do first. Things like that are not THAT important and will probably be added later, remember the game will be released as an alpha and some things just have priority.

Script restriction #44 is not a ban. The kick is caused by an incompability of the DayZ mod patch 1.7.5.1 and the old scripts.txt.
-
Cool story, bro. It doesen't matter if there was a hacker in his game.. he's either a victim of the CD-Key theft or cheated himself.
-
Join a server with an updated scripts.txt ...
-
First. ;)
-
Just like that.

Your CD-Key has been stolen and someone else got it banned. This is entirely your own fault. Also it isn't relevant who or what used your CD-Key for cheating it isn't relevant for BE as every GUID caught cheating gets banned - regardless who used it. Also, if you know you cheated you shouldn't hope for a second chance - you won't get one.
-
What you wrote has been suggested in the first post already...

This thread is like 3 weeks old ok..

May be, hovever the detection rates of HackShield in comparison to BE are bad. Of course BE has heuristic and certain checksums (more than VAC has), I was reffering to the picture you linked. You can't expect BE or anything else to detect some random external application which is read only. Furthermore, VAC is client-side only and has no server component, which means it can be cirmcurved easily. Wait what? Only VAC has been confirmed for the standalone, also you can cut out the "good admin" part since VAC does not offer any kind of admin features.
-
BE is doing it's best and I highly doubt anyone could do any better. But in fact, the circumstances for BE in Arma 2 could hardly be worse (Engine Architecture, CD-Key Theft...). Yeah. Navi. 'Nuff said. Um... do you know any game or Anti-Cheat that prevents that? I don't. Also the fact that you call yourself an "educated programmer" and say that you've been "hacking" for months tells pretty much. You are not hacking anything, you are simply reading the game's memory, that's cheating, nothing more. Also, you can't expect BE or any other Anti-Cheat Software to catch something that is not available in public/ self-made. Private Hacks = Paid stuff, ! = self-made stuff...
-
Private Hack User: "Solution: Wait for standalone and wait for (hopefully) full framework support, along with useless anticheat called "VAC". That'll solve our problems. The rate of detections is so high the hack is virtually unusable now so I advise you to stop wasting your money on cd keys, instead try to play clean with a bunch of friends or not at all. Kinda what BE wanted all along, good for them. Anyway the standalone should be here in a few weeks so it's not a long wait for some real fun." Shortly after, this (really popular) cheat site dropped support for their Arma 2/ DayZ Cheat. Archieved by any other Anti-Cheat before? No.

Warning: Background programs might get you banned
nik21 replied to Joe Freedom's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Lol, of course, if these "background programs" are in fact cheat programs. Also, you don't get a global ban for having CE open. You get a GameHack kick and that's about it. Even though admin tools like BEC will auto-ban you from this server (or all BEC servers, depending if it's streaming or not). I don't have to explain why you get kicked for CE, do I? It's a cheat program and if someone knows how to use it, he can do a lot of stuff with it. In fact, CE is a quite powerful hacking program. -
It won't. In fact, there will be more cheaters than in the DayZ mod since it will be a lot more popular and VAC will as always fail to keep up. Maybe they launch a few banwaves on private hacks at the beginning of this game's lifecycle, but that's about it. Public cheats will stay undetected a lot longer as well as private ones, even though those cheats may will probably be a lot less game-breaking than scripts are in Arma 2. Even though that's not something VAC archieved, but the engine itself. People may actually think that there will be less cheaters because they won't notice them. And think that it's because of VAC. But I can ensure you, it's not. However, VAC has a far easier job than BE has right now due to the CD-Key theft and the engine Architecture... but that doesen't mean that the numbers of cheaters will decrease. It is true, simple as that. We don't need to believe a script kiddie anyway, do we? We hear enough lies every day in the ban appeals section... not to mentoin BE's email box.
