    This is going to take some time to get correct we need to find a base system to judge everything from now the sound for zeds is sort of working. We removed all chance based systems so we could get a feel for the zeds during this update this is where the feedback from you guys will help alot.

    Its going to take a few trys to get the zeds close to a good level for everyone. Feedback is the key here.

    I don't think it's misleading at all. The topic is asking about private hives. The post is asking about private hives. I just included my reasoning behind liking private hives way way WAY more than public hives.

    Thanks for answering my question though.

    Sucks that there won't be any private hives at the start. Ghosting and loot hopping will be rampant.

    There are just as many cons on private hives as public ones,if not more

    Badmin,madmins,clan dominated,pay for weapons private hives just to name a few .

    aussie bobby, you should rent one and run I44. i'll play on it.

    Nobody in their right mind would rent a server when their in this state of disrepair.

    This morning I was doing a emergency morphine,blood run to my sons character and server after server the same,down,not working and rolling back to 1.7.6 same shite.

    We did find one server that was working and the three others that joined in had the same problems.

    17 public servers and one functioning..yer..I wont to throw money on the ground....Ef that

    Edit: none of the 1.7.6.1 public server are running now.

    7 server of the above were down for three weeks at one stage( Hosted by Orcon) and now back up are hit and miss as to when they are working.

    The 1.7.6 servers have 10 players,and they are randomly working as well.

    Things don't look good for the standalone down this way anyway.

    The better the GPU/CPU and the eye candy that comes with it,the worse off you are in this game as Iv found out.

    I got sniped and was thinking ..How the frig did he see me in all that grass and shrubs?....Haxor

    Then my son told me.. dad,turn your graphics to low and the grass disappears,that's how he seen you.So I had the 7950s maxed out and couldn't see my son in the grass.

    Turned everything down to minecraft very low and it was like he was lying on the sands of a desert.

    I have an old Nvidia GT 9400 and Im better of with that than xfire 7950s..Go Figure

    I was playing as a fresh spawn today. I was in a hero skin and i was unarmoured and had nothing of value on me.

    I got shot 2 times within 10mins.

    Why do people play DayZ like it was call of duty?

    Why do people feel the need to shoot a player who cannot harm oneself?

    And what is a hero skin worth if you get shot on sight regardless?

    I'm not saying you shouldn't play as a bandit. They are what makes this game good. Just be reasonable.

    This is just written in a hope that just some default skin players would consider keeping their hands of the trigger and just think for a sec.

    Hopefully players will have changed their play style when the standalone comes.

    I just got sniped today after 54 day run.

    So I went back to my body and they hadn't touched a thing.Just sniped for something to do .

    I don't know if it has to do with the age of the players or just the fact the influx of new players have come from games like CoD/BF etc and just want instant gratification. They don't want to look for gear because that is "hard" or some say it is boring which I wonder why they then play the game in the first place. With the servers just full of these extra Vehicles and weapons makes finding a good home very hard to do. Especially if you live in Australia like myself. I guess I might just have to deal with the extra latency and find some of these servers that have not got everything served to you on a platter. I very much hope the guys doing the standalone don't see that adding this kind of crap in will give them a wider audience. Wider audience usually means the end of a game, Hackers I can deal with they are going to be in most games. Even at the level of hacking going on at the moment I can put up with it. But finding a server that is both fairly hacker free and playing a version of the game that isn't designed for someone with the patience of a 5 year old and the IQ of a glass of water.

    Not many servers to play on theses days.

    I see the NZ/Orcon servers are up today after being down for the last 3 weeks.Some of the AU#500 servers are just as unreliable.

    So this just leaves the privet hives and they are Wastelands with zombies.

    Oh and one more thing...

    If i let a fresh spawn run through Elektro and let him leave with a map, compass, food, drink and a gun i will not see that player for up to a week as he will go into the wilderness and hide there.

    He will not interact with other players nor will he seek out any action.

    His primary objective will be, find a vehicle. Fix it and drive it to the remotest parts of the map and hide it there.

    Why should the server have to deal with his bandwidth? DayZ is a multiplayer game... Why should we let players treat it as their own single player experience for weeks on end?

    If you plan to be a hero, medic or bandit then fine by me... Just don't make excuses for being out in the middle of nowhere where you can't interact with other players.

    That is why i stay in Elektro, the chances of finding another player there increases tenfold over finding them inlands.

    Firstly.

    I own the game and Ill play it how I like and its not for you to tell others how to play.

    2nd)

    If you are to scared to come down from your tree fort(Elektro) and come out in to the open,then stay camping there and stop complaining.

    Now that Iv got the hang survival thing worked out,I have no need to go to Elektro or any other sniper/bush wookie fodder locations.

    So Im started a expedition from Kamanka to go around to whole map back to Kamanka.Been a changeling so far.Almost got killed by zombie at Sosnovka,very low blood and desperately hunting for meat to get my blood up,following tree lines and tops of ridges so not to expose my self.

    They tell there are some boats to be had at Berezino and I heard rumors of a mythical Island of the coast ...this true?..Oh wait,you wouldn't know.

    I have never ever been shot by a sniper or bandit as a fresh spawn, though I hear it is common, is it really so prevalant that there are snipers at every single spawn location? If you are looting a high traffic area or "predictable" as you put it, the survivor should be aware of this and perhaps choose another location or scout the surroundings first. If you are on the beach, well you have nothing anyway and yes I know it's frustrating, but there are alot of servers out there. I also believe there are alot of players, including myself that flank these locations in the hopes of finding a sniper with his guard down. If you can't handle this kind of PvP your choices are to join a PH with all friendly, no KOS vehicle overload or to persevere and enjoy all aspects of the game, even if it doesn't go your way all the time. I am getting sick of the pessimistic attitudes about the parts of the game that are vital. If you dont like the feeling that some one could be watching you down the end of their scope at any time.... don't play DayZ.

    It happen 3 times in row once and others were complaining in chat about it

    And I just got killed by/again a server hopping prick.

    Runs into a building after being shot at knowing there is only one way in...and we all know the rest.

    Iv not had this game for 2 week and can say that the game mechanics are wide open to exploitation.

    Iv played on some privet hives and almost trip over guns ammo,food at every turn,so their not for me,plus the issue of Badmins and Madmins running the servers just for them and their mates.

    Best bet is to wait for the standalone and if its still open to the same abuse,Im not going to buy it,Arma 3 yes

    If just switching to the flashlight wouldn't be such a hassle...

    Its a nightmare.

    I found a goat at night and decided to kill it for the meat and was low on ammo and I had to use the axe to kill it.

    I had to go to a road,drop almost my whole kit.Pick up the axe and chemlight and kill goat.go back to piles of my kit.Drop axe,pick up knife,go back to goat,gut it and then go back and pick up my kit.

    Im only play night time now to avoid the "Cod Deathmatch type of gameplay".

    One thing that needs a tweak is NVGs/scopes...a limited battery life and hard to find or removed from the game.

    So after camping for 20mins looking for some easy kills, the NVGs are now flat and all you have is flares, chem-lights and torch.

    Ill bet alot of snipers will wish they hadn't camped on that building/hill.Only now having flares, chem-lights, torch to find their way down after the NGVs have gone flat and sticking out like dogs balls.

    I had a lot of awesome adventures spawing in the game and getting shot by a sniper on the beach.. Oh my such adventures

    The spawning system is awesome...for snipers and bandits.

    Just sit/camp at one of the predictable spawning locations/loot and let the game bring them to you.If the pickings slow down,just server hop for some more spawn kills.

    OP has a cool story when you leave out what is really going on.

    Iv been killed 3 times in a matter of hours using this exploit.

    Examples.

    Someone shoots at me,I run up stairs knowing there is only one way to get to me..up the stairs and Ill nail them if they do come up stairs..

    WTF..The player is behind me and kills me..how?

    Sees bandit going to house,takes pot shot,missed and there is only one way out of house..I can wait..

    WTF..Bandit is now beside me and shots me.

    So now I know what "some players"are doing.

    Log-out,log-in to another server move behind player or what ever,log-out and then back into the server to be in the position you wish.

    There needs to be a cool down of 20mins longer before rejoining the same server or any in the future release of DayZ.

    Not sure if this comes under cheating or the theme of this thread...move or remove.

    Ask me..Its cheating,buts it a suggestion on how to stop it
