Ignorance is bliss. BIS is not a PC exclusive developer. They have developed for consoles such as with Carrier Command Gaea Mission in 2012. They Have also developed for mobile gaming with ArmA firing range also in 2012 and ArmA tactics in 2013. Never seemed to hurt or alienate their fanbase in anyway. DayZ Mod however did split opinion in the BIS forums iirc. Also the 2005 OFP port was actually pretty good imo, waaaay ahead of its time for a console game and limited by the spec of the machine it was running on. At the end of the day it encapsulated the essence and spirit of OFP if limited in scope and hampered by clunky controls. I mean it even had a mission editor that although not as good as its pc brethren, was actually surprisingly good and a feature that sadly is not seen in many games on both pc and consoles to this day. Now all that being said I do think that the SA should be completed 100% before any decision is made to attempt a console port, I do feel that such is the scope of DayZ it would be a mammoth task to bring it to consoles whilst retaining all its fidelity and gibonez is right in saying doing both at the same time could be catastrophic.

When I have children (who obviously will not grow up to be as attractive and skilful as your children), I will show them this thread and recount this glorious tale of such an epic (super)human endeavour until they ascend past mere noobs and - with your blessing, allow themselves to be called 'ok'. What would DayZ be like without any firearms whatsoever? Not saying that should happen, but would there still be mass fire axe kos??

Thing is that backpack is so big it's hard to look over your shoulder as it obscures your view, this might seem trivial now, as all servers have third person view's, but when some servers change to 1st person only. I will happily trade 5 slots of inventory for better visibility. Size is not everything my friend ;) And also this :-

Also you might have an infection. AFAIK you wont re-gen blood whilst you have infected wounds. Some antibiotics should clear it up.

I want to know how to stick pieces of the map together with tape im sure Rocket mentioned you could do this in an old dev blog or vid somewhere.

I think certain mental and psychological states should be introduced that have a permanent (one life only) impact to your characters well being. What these could be and their effects is something that would need to have a lot of balance to suit all playstyles. Examples could be post-traumatic stress disorder, paranoia, depression. The only problem with doing something like this is that most of us are already paranoid and suffer with PTSD, if we didnt then we wouldnt be spawning and heading straight up north and avoiding major towns and military installations.

Unfortunately this is proof that it will probably never be fixed. Its not like the entire ArmA community liked having fps drops and considering the game is now nearly 5 years old I doubt they will find a way to optimise it better. I do hope I'm wrong though.
