  1. Well, the lower the number of folks who realise the SA is released, the easier Rocket and co.'s jobs are going to be.

If a release date's announced and folks have time to prepare for it, Day 1 will be chockablock with folks trying to play.

If they don't announce it at all, they're less likely to be inundated with players.

EDIT: That's not insider info. Just my take on things.

This, to me, is a very... weird... logic. Uh... they're going to release the game (Alpha) under the radar to prevent too many players from playing it?

  2. Now, I want to keep this on topic, and try to make it as serious and realistic as possible.

My question is, what would YOU do in a zombie apocalypse with your "love life"? Let's say that a zombie apocalypse starts IRL. Your family and closest friends are dead, and you're all alone. You are running scared around the streets, away from all the madness and you find shelter in a small building. In there you find 4-5 other survivors, scared as well. You talk to each other, decide to team up and escape the city. You set camp in the woods and stay there for a long time. You become close friends with everyone, you trust and protect each other.

Now, there is a goodlooking boy/girl ( accoring to your taste) that seems to be interested in you. Would you start a relationship? I mean, would you be attached to someone in the middle of this shitstorm? Forget the factor sex, I'm talking about feelings. Would you prefer to be with a person even if he/she may die the next day or you prefer to be alone so you'll not be too attached to someone?

Haha, you're talking as if you could control your feelings. John Rambo over here!

  3. To me it sounded a lot like he's setting up for a let-down, what with all the talking about not buying the game in early alpha, it having a lot of bugs and still needing a lot of work (few months till playable) etc.

But this is just how I interpreted it. I hope that both I am wrong and that the game is progressing nicely. I really do wish Dean and his team the best.

  4. Are they going to follow the ArmA 3 model and release it as a playable and stable alpha, move on to beta, then go to full release? I hope so, because this game will lose quite a bit of hype if they don't. I'm excited from the game play, but how longer am I going to have to wait until I can pick up a version, unfinished or not, that I can play legally? I know I'm being an un-patient bitch, but am I going to have to wait more than a year?

Yes, it will follow the ArmA 3/ Minecraft model (Alpha-->Beta--->Full release (LOL)). Hopefully it will be soon, Rocket said it will be soon, but yeah... :D

  5. Well for one, I would assume that everything in a forum post is personal opinion... hence why we have things like forum tags and usernames to delineate my thoughts from others.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here, voicing dissatisfaction with something BEFORE it's final is exactly what alphas are for and is the best time to voice criticism.

I disagree. If I state facts, such as: "the release date for Day Z SA has not yet been set. It is still in pre-alpha stage and thus a work in progress", I am being objective. There's nothing wrong with subjective criticism as long as it is made clear that it is something you have a problem with, especially if it is about something that may or may not be there (seeing as Day Z SA is being worked on, nothing is final).

That being said my previous post was not meant as a personal attack. I was merely pointing out that before you write personal opinions as truths, make it apparent, because some people might actually mistake them for such.

The game is still being worked on. A few pages back there was even a quote from Rocket himself, saying that the animations you saw were a placeholder- not final at all!
