as of yesterday: this guy pops out on me in the tower at novodmitrovsk, as often happens. i say "hey" he shoots me as much as he can with his shotgun. not even bleeding, i immediately remove my trousers and follow him out. he apparently spent all of his ammo ruining my pants and stands in a corner, apparently believing he broke my legs i shoot most of my .357 rounds in his general direction and fill him full of bullets, while saying "what was the point in even trying that mate?" failed KOS player who can't follow through even with first shot and friendly opponent.

oh steak my other gripe is that you can't fit 15 people into it -
maybe you were lagged out. was the server full? playing on a 40+pop is all very well but you may suffer performance issues and even die as a result of the number of players (not combat) the large numbers of players sometimes causes actions to stay on "receiving" this means if you're using a shotgun, trying to eat, fill a bottle or making a splint you can't. it sometimes stops you during action, too. i've seen people trying to reload after failing with 2 shotgun shells and only ruining clothes, and had the pleasure of shooting them in the face at my leisure because i didn't waste all my ammo.

honestly this version of dayz has come out very nice compared to arma dayz. it's a whole new game, again. zoms aren't finished yet, so the game isn't either. KOS goes bye-bye when there are this many zombies chasing you

yesterday a guy shot me at point blank with a shotgun in 1p and ran off because he assumed he'd broken my legs i laughed when i 1hit him with hipfire imho it's strange the dot doesn't sway - but that's the point of hipfire right? i think that the whole "switching to 1p" thing is a collusion by streamers to get people to switch out of sight-cheating mode _______________________ that all that about shooting with dot is fine, but it's harder to see sway using 3p so you gotta spam splints. obviously you want to use scope/1p if you have pso-1 or LRS personally i enjoy playing the game entirely in 3p. that's just how i got used to dayz. it makes me motionsick if i stay running in 1p too much. if you're using like an AKM or something 3p is totally the way to go, since you can spray 30 rounds at once

you're not drinking out of it, you're shooting through it. you just need to reinforce the shape of the bottle and it'll still work.

everyone else is moving around the map at the same speed as you unless they camp a spot, so you're always statistically unlikely to meet a player unless they're bad and slow, or are coming in the opposite direction. even then i reckon about 90% of the time players don't spot eachother unless they're in a city. also, most people just like deathmatching in novo/cherno/berezino/elektro. if you want to see a player go to the tower in novo and just wait

i get connection lost all the time, or join servers then they restart right away. and there are a lot of badmin servers. those ones with two people on that say unstable usually. i need to get to reporting them. honestly there shouldn't be any penalty that's indirect like a silly timer. make it so that you can leave/join 2 or 3 servers before there is any negative impact, since it's very often i join a server and i'm crazy lagged out for some reason, or i get kicked or it restarts within 30 minutes. once diseases are added, add a serverhop timer you can't see that means if you are "constantly" hopping servers, IE join, loot barracks, leave, and doing it regularly, your character develops some form of dimension-changing dementia, throws up and starts seeing double, as if he's seeing the world in 3d glasses. this goes away if you stay on the server you're on for more than 30 minutes.

i really don't want the game to be finished by modders. i hope the release of mod tools happens after the majority of content is already added to stop people from "finishing" the game badly. -
like i was saying. the long ranged scope and PSO-1 are not modeled below pristine. all the scopes appear as pristine. people go for pristine for no real reason right now. the scope works just as well as a pristine LRS with mosin (tested) just like there are no damaged models in use for bayonets currently.

i needed some clarification on what persistance actually meant, past respawning loot. i'll give that a read i suppose. that confirms what i thought, though i wasn't sure how long stuff stayed/decayed. will the tents always be wiped on a Wednesday? seems to defeat the point of all that space. -
chopper loot and vehicles are really obvious and easy to find if you know the two circles to drive your v3s around

i like to fill up PET bottles with gasoline and leave them lying around you can decant any liquid and fill any container with gasoline. you could refuel your v3s with tinctures too you can also fill jerry can with 20l of water. jerry can will eventually be what you keep at your camp to stay hydrated, as well as having one for fuel. theoretically you could fill up a jerry with tincture, but it'd take forever to find enough

Yeah they're in the game, general military just very rare. often missed too since they're small. rarer than the vests by far. today i also found my first CR527 mag from (i think) grandma's piano house near cherno. the gun is really nice imho, i actually like it better than a vanilla mosin.

yeah you can. it's 150ml/3 swigs but drink all gave me the same effect as with 1l PET storing 6 away would give me all the value of a protector case

there's some correlation in there, but hi-cap isn't anywhere near as "rare" as M4 relatively, but it's something every player sort of wants, so it's probably worth more, or at least on-par. it's more likely that people are going to want PSO AKM or mosin + AKS than M4, but the M4 is more rare, so it's probably a bit above them, but the M4 is below the smersh vest and PM by a long way. why? because people want the smersh vest and PM more than they would want an M4. i don't know if that's purely because they're rare, but i know that ghillie players really want hi-cap, smersh and pockets vest for the space alone, so they're going to be some of the higher value items, over M4. same for can openers, aviators and balaclavas.

you don't assign it based on rarity, you assign it based on what people want. all civ loot goes here, including makarovs, all lower weapons, mosins. ________________ price line. anything below this line is probably worth 1 burlap sack. anything above this line is worth at least 5. the rarest items are worth more than one stack (10) any pistol other than P1w/mag, cr75w/mag or FNX45w/mag or amphibia SKS (common) ballistic vest nopouch (common) LRS + mosin compensator, PU, can opener, axes, gorka/TSSKO, balaclava, aviators (highest possible value civ loots other than pistol suppressor) AKM and AKM mags aren't rare but they should be the same price as AKS/AK101 mags and AK74/AK101. the AKS should have a higher value since it is a backpack weapon. prison uniform? firefighter uniform? chopper crash loot re M4s and augs go here, above AKs. probably also the skull balaclava. out on top of the AKs and m4 in price should be the AK rail. M4 attachments go here M4 scopes go here, maybe PSO-1 too. protector case/M65 jacket/amphibiaw/mag/sword/SMGs w/mag go here, grenades, P1w/mag, cr75w/mag or FNX45w/mag, possibly also stab vest and press vest. jerry can goes here re 1 protector case, hi-cap goes here, below smersh vest and pockets vest. silencers, pistol silencers and other pistol attachments other than flashlights, pockets for ballistic vest, smersh vest. large mag for the pm73, pm73, ww2 grenade, possibly PSO-1 depending on who you talk to. tents (people will pay anything sometimes.) you can probably trade a full stack of burlap for anything worth less than an m4/chopper crash item. two stacks might get you anything from the list other than large pm73 mag and ww2 grenade. 1 protector case (p) = 2 stacks of burlap (20) - as is anything from this part of the list. PM73 large mag/ww2 grenade are possible the rarest items in the game. ww2 grenade estimated to only spawn 1:100 or less in barracks and PM73 25rnd mag is probably the rarest chopper item. given that these are possibly twice as rare they get to be twice as valuable. PM73 is probably worth 6 protector cases or something.
