yes. as soon as the patch was released i instantly found an AK-74 on the floor in the lobby of a school. i also found mags on military trucks, jeeps and etc. orel gear, police gear, RAK, MP5 and all sorts of junk spawn on the downed tanks (meaning NEAF is actually #1 military base behind severograd's trucks in this patch) rak mags,mp5 mags and etc spawn on police cars barracks = not where to look for guns really at the moment yellow gunhouse also doesnt spawn guns regularly anymore. -

like i said, i've not had cause to play like this until today, and not even had problems finding food, though i do believe i was in an apple-sparse area - and to be fair, the guy wasn't exactly friendly. we were far from unlooted civilisation along the north of the map -

Apartments are very inconvenient places to loot.

if they had the same loot density as the other buildings they'd have 1500 items per building and just filling the current apartment blocks near cherno would make the rest of the map empty (the same amount of loot items) so it's not possible to make them any better. the same goes for the furniture. this is paraphrased from what a dev said, and also why we don't have 50 room buildings all over the map and also why novodmitrovsk spire is only 3 floors with 9 rooms. they should just make all the loot in apartments spawn on the top floor for now as a placeholder, so people can actually loot them. -
the same lootbombs of orel unit gear and junk always come up at the same places actually

because loot staying where you leave it and respawning is more important than respawning unlimited grenades akms and 75rnd mags with server restarts although i don't know who would leave all their clothes and three cans of peaches in their outhouse

with the new zombies hitting twice as fast and running right at your toes chambering a weapon is an even bigger disadvantage, and with the introduction next update of a new single shot chambered weapon i think there's room to attach ammunition to your hotkey bar to reload your current weapon.

i found a can opener on a water pump recently, and according to the dayzdb map they can also spawn waterbottles and fruit. so it's apparently always worth checking a fountain for loot now.

uh okay buddy. go play COD if you want to TDM also zombie bodies shouldn't last. i get stuck in buildings quite often since 0.55 and can't jump out. -
so. my last player interaction before 0.55 was a beastly firefight between me and another guy both with mosins, duking it out in a piano house. he'd killed a reasonably fresh spawn and went to hide in the top room, i sensed his presence by closed door and body downstairs and sidestepped as i opened it. the guy took shots as soon as he could, but ended up getting shot bang to rights with a nice peek. since 0.55 i've come across four players one was pretty much a new spawn, i told him about what i'd seen in 0.55. moments later he was begging me to save him from zombies. we shortly came across another player who wanted to KOS, so that ended in everyone dying. but it's a good start. just now i drop in on two guys who'd spawned near turovo. they had no weapons to speak of and were more shocked to see a blackskull balaclava and RAK peeking through a bush than anything else. they didn't try to kill me. i'd usually have expected that to end in my having to kill them, just because of how fast we came upon eachother, but in this case i decided to give them an m65 jacket i had spare as we parted ways. here's to hoping more people are willing to talk in the future.

yes it is. just gave an m65 jacket to a tssko guy and the server restarted, his tssko was on the floor still.

i dont understand the no more loot people. since patch i've found RAKs, MP5s, m65s of all colours, the firefighter uniform parts i'd never seen, paramedic stuff, orel and police gear. the patch basically made all the stuff you never saw really easy to come by, and that's great

on the good side of this update, m65 jackets and blackskull balaclavas as now civ/general military spawns. stab vests and press vests are all over the place. AK74s spawn in schools and mags on trucks. barrackses spawn nothing interesting, and loot spawns like mad in the houses that you avoid. oh and gunhouse is not gunhouse anymore. and tents spawn like crazy. you can find all of them anywhere. found in the small 1 room "church-looking" building - i speculate that there is other clothing loot from choppers that i haven't found yet that spawns elsewhere, perhaps SMERSH vests or something. it seems like choppers are now for only M4s and AUGs. found on military truck. found mags in police car. afaik it also spawns at police cars. mp5s spawn here too. trucks also spawn police, orel, prisoner and paramedic. firefighter helmets/gear spawn at any civ location bs balaclavas spawn at military spots but also any civ house on the -uuuuuh side of this update some trucks and police cars and other cars seem to lootbomb like crazy. the problem isn't about areas with no loot, it's the areas with 50,000 loot items. the loot economy is still not ready. these lootbomb items should be redistributed elsewhere. i mean come on. the police car and the trucks near stary yar i could have outfitted an entire server with police gear and MP5s or even RAKS of all things. about no food/weapons in berezino/cherno... get of your butt and go to novo or severograd. stop sitting in barrackses and looking where you would have looked for a gun, you're now just as likely to find a gun in any house. you find more better loot faster from looting cars. by the way the RAK sounds amazing. you should all get SMGs while they're spawning with mags out the wazoo barracks loot seems to be removed to every other building. to those who were saying tents died on being put down a few days ago they don't.

i've found a mosin since the patch. it was with a TSSKO jacket (P) and a tent in the tiny 3 roomed yellow building that never spawned much loot before. sawed it off and left it i always do that to mosins i find, no scope for youu oh and i did find a uk vest on a truck, but i've seen more press and stab vests -
each police station should have it's own supply of weapons and police clothes. we've really seen this in .55 and i think there's a way it could be a bit better. 1) link the police cars to the police station they "came from" before they crashed. 2) start the police station with X amount of loot 3) distribute the loot amongst the cars, as though they were on the way to an emergency. if there are more cars linked to a police station the station will have far less loot, but the cars will have enough to kit several people initially. (a reduction from current loot numbers for po-po cars fyi) 4) add a pre-looted mechanic for in-city cars that doesn't spawn any loot outside of the car, only inside it. example: severograd PD sent out 3 cars before the apocalypse, two are in town and one is in stary yar. this means that there could be 6-12 police's worth of loot amongst the cars, and a little left at the police station. since three cars went out from here it's not likely a weapon will spawn in the station, but there will probably be one on one of the cars.

yeah. the only reason i can see for the current patch's equipment is that they want everyone in m65 jackets and police gear testing the SMGS right now it's about 5000x easier to find an SMG+mag than any other weapon this is probably the only way they could get the west to be high loot, because there are more cars in the vybor area -

from what i can see they made the old "high loot" buildings spawn nothing interesting and put the loot into buildings that were a crapshoot before.
