so what i'd really like to see in dayz is the ability to do the following: 1) pick and grind up grain from fields with appropriate crop 2) yeast, sugar, salt and other baking ingredients, including fresh milk, milk bottles, butter and cheese. 3) baking bread of various sizes (ie 2x2, 1x2, 1x1, 3x1) in the improved fireplace. the bread will be like a zucchini before it is cut, you get a few good pieces. 4) slicing bread with any knife. sliced bread takes the same amount of space, but gives you a "stack" of bread. 5) crafting sandwiches using the bread you just baked and cut. each sandwich will combine several slices of ingredients, (IE apples, banana, peppers, but also tuna and meat products.) the more you get into one slot, the more energizing the sandwich will be. for instance, i could put 10% a can of tuna, a slice of apple, a slice of cheese, some butter and a slice of wild boar, with tactical bacon and banana mushed in as well. a fully crafted sandwhich with pristine ingredients will instantly energise you (balancing for having to craft like 4-6 from scratch to get any, i mean think about it, if they were added like this you'd need pretty much an empty backpack to make sandwhiches, since you'd need to carry enough ingredients; with the flipside of them taking much less space for much more effectiveness than the ingredients on their own.) 6) wildlife giving different cuts of meat from RNG. as opposed to getting "1 slot" of food from killing a boar you could get a 2x3 leg of boar which you can slice pieces off once you have cooked, rather than just "eating all" 7) ability to hoard several kilograms of sugar and fruit to make jam in a cooking pot 8) ability to craft a fermenting bucket which you can fill with apples to make cider 9) lunchboxes 2x2 which can take 2x3 foods 10) hot drinks like coffee, tea, hot chocolate. 11) recipe books for cooking and relevant books with information and fluff on local areas, possibly even giving small portions of map inside the book. 12) thermos flask 13) ability to carry a full animal carcass to your camp 14) ability to spit roast and keep the carcass persistent until it starts to go bad. (let say 24 hours.)

they should add cloaks and ponchos etc. hoods are already in the game they just don't work yet IE raincoat and hoodie

yesterday i was getting ready for a player trade that never happened (trev died before he got to me.) when i came to log in today my inventory had changed. this isn't the first time it's happened. since the latest patch my inventory has barely been consistant, with items often being replaced by others (IE on patch a LRS and compensator were replaced by SKS ammo) just now i lost a full stack of burlap strips, leaving me with only 5 anyone else noticed weird inventory bugs like this? ____ also getting memory leaks after latest patch, oops!

Bloodbags vs energised+healing vs KOS according to a recently locked thread, and also the development timeline, it seems like in the future solo players will be well and truly screwed as far as it comes to health regeneration. reasoning: 1) if you are a solo player and ask another player to bag you up you die from a gunshot wound to the face. 2) if you are a solo player and loose a lot of health you die 3) if you aren't a solo player the game gets a lot easier for your group because everyone you encounter will be on greyscreen. (zombies are placeholders. if you can't heal eventually, when there are entire fields full of zombies, what are you even supposed to do? 4) from what i can see no planned mechanic for self blood bagging/pre-taking blood for later/blood stands for solo bagging. i feel like if blood bags were pushed on everyone that there'd need to be changes to bleeding. right now if somebody punches you four times you're pouring, just gushing out blood from four holes. in a game about realism that seems like a junk mechanic, especially if there's no way to heal. sure, it's an ARMA system, but bleeding is junk right now. blood bags as the only method of healing will never be fair, work or even make sense until people's first reaction to a man sitting on the roadside, waving at them, is to wave back, not shoot them and take their empty blood bags. making the only viable healing bloodbags will just push the KOS even harder.

all i wanted to do was take a picture of the new compass, it's a surreal experience to be overjoyed at finding your new model-compass and then discovering your character has self esteem issues -
would be cool to see a camelback added to the game. an option that sacrifices backpack for a large hydration system you don't need to stop to drink from, and can sip small amounts regularly. spawns: the same buildings as the long ranged scope in civilian, IE the corner yellow house; as well as more commonly at military spawns. _____________________ variation; tactical camelbackpack kudu, a backpack with 15 spaces and 12 liters of water, just with the same hydration system as the other camelbak. spawns only at military locations with the same rating as pso-1 for rarity, or chopper crashes.

fancy pen you can stick in your jacket pocket without taking an inventory space, fountain pen. requires ink cartridge to work and always spawns without one. watches, rolex-tactical-"nurse" jacket pin-classic random watch-cheapy digital watch-expensive digital watch leg pouches, leg holster, fanny pack, roll-up drop sack sleeping bag and waddling animations speedos chinese "i hate the sun" hat weapons spawning less than pristine more commonly + more weapon stripdowns + assembling good weapon from 2 ruined ones, IE two ruined 1911s split down to one with a ruined grip and one with a ruined slide -

yeah so always put strange shaped items or 4 shaped items at top left from now on -
just confirming some information for you guys. offers 0 protection while the vest says there are pockets they are rare. i have seen four or five pristine vests so far but not one pouch. the vest weighs 12kg and has no space, and takes up 2x3 in your inventory. (meaning it's almost impossible to wear it with a ghillie suit before you find pouches for it ala smersh vest) the pouches do spawn but they are apparently very rare. according to the wiki they spawn at general military but this is yet to be verified by video or picture, however, we do know what the vest looks like. this is what the vest looks like with all pouches attached. it has a 10 slot capacity in this state, as well as a holster. ____ oh god my inventory is full of improvised suppressors

so i saw this, and thought that it would be a fun thing to be able to make in dayz. maybe get a canonball in the barrel behind the cork and charge up the PSI.

i like to lure all the zombies in cherno into more kitted players when i'm a fresh spawn if i could do this then launch potatoes at people at the same time i'd love it.

from what i hear the bug where you lose items is based on not being able to load the items into your backpack. example there. what if you had the choice to rotate your oblong loot like nets, PET bottles, burlap sack stacks, wellies, plate carriers etc? that way the game can auto-rotate something until it doesn't loose an item i've encountered this bug in .54 with burlap stacks, LRS and mosin compensator.

by the way guys, according to leddit the pouches and holster DO spawn, but only at helicopter crash sites. this is unconfirmed. -
they wouldn't be rare because all you'd need to do is run along the rails until you find one

yeah the problem is that this also occurs without any truck. every time it happens i seem to have my inventory slightly modified. it's really very strange. -

yeah the game is pretty much unplayable as of the latest patch. can't play for more than 15-30 minutes at once. as a note to everyone about improvised suppressor: the improvised suppressor only works for one shot, after which it becomes ruined. the first shot is only silenced if the PET bottle you made it with was above damaged condition. -

i've found 4 or 5 plate carriers and not a sign of a pouch. if they do spawn they're ridiculously rare. they also weren't included in the patch notes or pictures of new models
