I can't get my head around this. I play with maxed settings besides post processing and vsync, which I turn off.. And can't get above 30-35 FPS.. With a £450 graphics card and an almost as expensive processor. I can play BF3 with just under 90 fps at ultra settings. What. The. Hell. I see youtubers with decent rigs getting better framerates and just a better looking game in general, and I can't seem to pull it off WITHOUT recording. Any of you guys with high end rigs willing to post your settings and average FPS? Any tips on boosting performance? I already use the nvidia CP with everything set to maximum performance output.. I've done exactly as I did to get it working using arma2_free, but still nothing. I am rather versed in the art of getting dayz to work, and have screenshared countless friends to fix it for them... But this has me stumped. Upon launching dayz using commander, or my own shortcuts through the beta, I am greeted with "Addon 'CAAir_BAF' requires addon 'CACharacters_E'" and a black DAYZ screen that doesn't move. No idea how to fix this at all. I use a steam version of ARMA2 OA, and a retail cd version of ARMA2. Any advice or fixes? I have used the search function to find others, but no fixes mentioned. **FIX** After a load of help from the fantastic Forum Team, a fix has been found. Anybody who has yet to update ARMA2 should do so here: http://www.arma2.com/index.php?option=com_rokdownloads&view=file&Itemid=20&id=777%3Aarma2-patch-1〈=en Install the patch, run the game once, launch dayz after checking your Dayzcommander/playwithsix directories for arma2 and operation arrowhead are correct. Thank you guys for all of your help. I'm 3/4 through downloading this patch, and I hope it'll be the fix I've been looking for! I appreciate all of you guys' responses. All from the forum team, too. Wow.

I have also done this. I launched it to the multiplayer menu. Anything in particular I should have done? Actually played the game?

Oh, ofcourse. Apologies, I failed to mention that. I've completely removed A2free and all associated files. I've also patched arma2OA to the latest available beta using commander. I have tried moving arma2 to the same HDD that I launch OA from, too. Still no luck. Currently triple checking everything whilst awaiting potential responses from you fine fellows. After removing my side panel and checking my build, nothing seems loose. This definitely seems arma-side, as other games are non-issues

Negative. Just this game. I can play prototype 2, bf3, war thunder, fallout 3.. loads of stuff at maxed settings with a stable 80+ with my rig... But arma is being a bit of a tit to me lately. wouldn't be so bad if it didn't make me feel physically sick with the freezing and pauses.
