    - Since this wouldn't do for the gamma, because players will go out when night falls, change gamma, go in and problem solved for the next 6 hours, its much more useful when it comes to FoV since those who exploit it surely are changing it every minut or so depending on the situation. I dont think most of them would endure having to logout and login all the time xD So, good idea imho. I like 3rd person, I like viewing my own character but I DONT LIKE people seeing me (or me seeing them) when Im not supposed to. Those who only like 1st person are already playing HC and dont give a shit about this issue anymore. Problem is with the rest of us who enjoys looking at our character, clothes, movements and animations but then have to put up with a game breaking wallhack problem. So we politely ask for a solution. The question here is not if 3pp-wallers-yes/3pp-wallers-no, the only question here is "which solution we use" and "how many resources will take", because I dont think anyone could defend wallers as a legit way given the realistic nature of the game. Not that Im saying is not fair, it is fair since we all use it. But the problem doesnt go away just because we all beneficiate from it. See this, if we all had god mode that would also be fair, doesn't it? but would you play a game like that? specially if its intended to be realistic?

  4. ?? divide by 10 those numbers and you got it right. Takes from about 30 minutes to go from Balota to Berezino sprinting non-stop right now (tested it myself).

  6. - Smoothnes of the game (not talking about fps), like it is in every other game. Feels a bit broken and no natural at all to play this. All the times I died was not because I couldn't handle a situation but because my character did the fuck he wanted instead of the fuck I asked him politely to do (by spamming keys ofc). Ex: is a lottery to actually hit anything with melee.
  7. I actually think everything in backpack should be accesed manually, through inventory management. Only things in your pockets vest could be accesed through hotbar or action keys like reloading, etc.
  8. You should be able to fit weapons in your medium/large backpack, not taking a lot of space actually (like 20% per weapon), and showing up from the top of the backpack. At least this is what I would do large weapons IRL if I don't have a sling on. Also seems pretty reasonable to me to fit 5 weapons in one backpack (Rick on Walking Dead anyone?) This includes large melee weapons. Also, to carry a weapon on your shoulders, finding or creating your own sling is a must. Those "floating" weapons on my back doesn't feel really immersive to me xD At the end, I think you should be able to carry an Axe across your back between the backpack and you (not taking slots therebefore), and 2 slinged weapons, one each shoulder. P.D: Pistols should be able to be carried on your waist (as I would do IRL), not taking any slot. In fact, the game lacks a few items, like belts with consequent belt pouchs, belt gun holster, and so on. Same for legs. But Im pretty sure they will eventually come out with something, since its too much obvious to ignore.

    Yep, and servers that show you when someone dies, and also who killed him, and with which weapon, from what distance, etc. Seen crap loads of that shit on private servers during the mod. Never understood why, since theres already a lot of games offering you that (I myself play some of them). I think its because those people actually suck playing games intended for deathmatch, where the rest of the players are also hunters not just preys, and therebefore they come here to try to find unarmed players cuz its the only thing they can kill. However, not my business, been discussed a lot, dont give a shit anymore. Good thing about those servers is they will take away all those losers from vanilla servers. So private servers actually do solve things in their own way.

    This and side chat was what turned this game into Call of Duty, people shooting people until the message appeared, and then people insulting people through side chat for killing them.

    Side chat should only be avalaible with walkie talkies, voice included, and toggleable on-off. And should be heard/read by everyone around you (zeds included), unless you're wearing earphones. Also, walkie-talkie should be a bit more common. 'Unlocking' side chat would be one of the first thing I would do as a new spawn.

    How often do you find a Long Range Scope?

    I think devs are playing and testing with the spawn rate of stuff (controled from the main hive I assume) and altering spawn rate of everything from one day to another. My reason to think this way is because just to say yesterday I was finding attachments non-stop (including long range scopes). In 1 hours me and my 2 friends found more than 6 scopes for SKS (also pristine some of them), 2 long range scopes for mosin (badly damaged both), like 5 ACOG (2 pristine), maybe 8 handguards, 4-5 buttstocks, 4 bipods (pristine ALL of them), enough amphibias-S, magnums and CR-75 to create my own gun store, and a fucking CRAP LOAD of 5.56 magazines, all shapes and forms, everywhere, all the time. I ended up with an ammo box with 600 hundred bullets, so did my friends, and like 5 extra magazines 40/60 bullets capacity also full for each of us (and because we couldn't carry more, we left dozens of magazines behind. Seriously, haven't seen that much ammo spawn rate never in my life). Fun part is, in all that time we found just 1 single M4, and only 1 mag for magnum, amphibia and CR-75 xD But my point was that this never happened before, and I must admit we we're server hopping and it was like that on every server. Also, those sudden changes from the spawn rate of some items has been common lately (at least from my perception), though never so accused as last night.
  13. Another way could be to bound char to one server, and also limit chars to 1. If you change server you start as a fresh and also lose your old char (maybe applying for a server change is an option). This would solve the problem of different chars so I can just play deatmatch with my joke character, therebefore fucking up the experience for the rest of the players on that server just because I don't care. (Seriously mates, if not, deathmatch will go over 9000 with people just not giving a shit, rushing to your back with an axe, dying repeteadly and going back again and again just for fun while his main char is safe on another server. If he wants to do that, fine, but he deserves to lose his main char). Totally agree. My bet for a valid fix for 3P is to add that plugin for Arma 3 someone made that makes players out of your line of sight disappear. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/179477-arma3-third-person-fix-modthoughts/ Also, raising weapon should be bound to 1st person (therebefore, shooting too)., switching automatically to it when you press space to raise weapon.
  14. If your game crashes you can enter the same server you we're playing. So you get the delay anyway to avoid self-crashing to exploit the system. Problem with private servers is people tends to play 2 or more different servers, one for seriously playing and one to fool around, camping hot spots, killing people... ya' know. This already happens with a friend of mine who has a Hardcore character for serious game and another char on regular just to play DayZ deatmatch. If it was for me, there will be only one difficulty mode, one hive, and all the servers would be synchronized in time/weather for the entire world (so no more 24/7 day crap) and the servers population wouldn't be public. Just 2 modes: below half (20-), over half (20+). So you don't know if the server is actually empty or has up to 20 people in it even if you join a below-half population server. This way we all abide by the same rules. P.D: obviously a 3PP fix and a different day cycle (like 19 real hours = 1 day ingame) would be a must. P.D.2: ofc there's always ways to exploit this, like having your own server, you can autokick you and have no delay (but this would also limite the server-hopping to 2 servers, yours and another). Or having 3rd party programs or webs to know the actual population of servers, and so on. But by this you reduce the abuse by a crazy percentage anyway, so its already a win.
  15. 30 minuts delay when server hopping, avoiding people of entering any server but the one they we're playing. And not taking any effect if server crashed or you got manually kicked by an admin (auto-kick doesnt count since it could be exploited, and you can rejoin the same server). Solved.

    Player Controlled Currency System?

    This is up to the players. If they want to trade things and use ammo as currency, it will become mainstream and normal after a while. If its food, then food. The players will decide, no need for the devs to interfere.

    Regaining blood is way too hard

    I find regaining blood is way too easy right now. I like the way its done, but it should be a lot slower than it is. Fully heal yourself on regeneration 2 should take more than an hour, to say the least.
  18. ... how is this game gonna be made, because right now the performance is poor, REALLY poor (not talking about content, not talking about playability, not talking about anything of that). I am talking about things like when you open your inventory, right-click on your Soda Can and it says "receiving" and a few seconds later appears the options.... this means the client has to ASK the server what are the options for that object. Same for inspect, or just landing your mouse over the object and waiting for the small window with name and description to appear. Same happens when equiping an item from the hotbar (and gets worst when, having to click more than once, your character starts equiping and un-equiping the weapon... hotbar on everyother game would be just to equip a weapon, but not this one, this always does things on a special way). Same when you jump, why does the client has to ask permission to the server to vault/jump? that action should be client-side, and there before, instant. Or the reason why zombies clip through walls, as simple as because those buildings aren't there, the actual map (the one the zombies see) is just an empty map of grass and trees (and im not sure about trees). wtf? I mean, why is this not coded into the client like in every other game of this planet? Pings are not high, desync is something common in every game, but in this one its AWFUL to play because of the way its made. They way things are done are just the opposite as any other game.. why? And dont give me the alpha bullshit, because I know, they going to "optimize" the netcode? really? optimize? its not optimitzation what it needs, its a complete redone from the scratch to make it the same as every normal game. Even if you reduce the ping and the desync to a 1/4 what its now its still gonna be worst than by just making those things client-side. Server just should send a simple hex code of the inventory items. Example: 0xA176ADF0 = Closed Soda Can Pristine. And thats it! doesn't have to send to the client the options for that can (opening, eating, equiping, droping, whatever) because those are already coded into the client. Wherever theres a building, shouldn't be grass under it, the map should INCLUDE the building as an original part of it. Meaning theres nothing else there than that. Same for everything else. This is the only thing breaking the game for me. Not the KoS, not the poor content, not anything else. Just that suffering when playing because it doesnt feel smooth and natural, and I always have to keep and eye on my character because if I press 1 to equip my axe, wether if my char its going to do it or no is a lottery. P.D: Bold letters are for those who are for sure going to answer "alphaaaa" like if this means all the problems are magically going to be solved. What I am mentioning here, haven't seen a single dev adressing this problem and an eventual solution to it except for that "optimize netcode" promise that even on best scenario, its not going to be enough.
  19. First Question: - How does work the way zombies break stuff?? Today I been in a really fun situation (fun for anyone but me, ofc). I was there so happy with my new brand military pants and jacket, both pristine :D and when I was leaving the airfield a zombie aggroed me. No big deal, get my axe, wait for him, wait, wait, wait, blow him a hit, miss (wtf, aim was good) and the zombie manages to hit me ONCE. Prstine pants ruined, everything inside pants also ruined (including a brand new pristine colt 1911, thanks god I still got my CR75 pristine). But what the fuck? from pristine to ruined in one hit??? I also was bleeding so I was bandaging myself when another zombie (I swear she wasn't there 5 seconds ago!) agroes me from behind and comes to hit me. Because my character is so metodycal he decides to calmy and slowly keep the bandaging no matter what I do so the zombie has time to hit me twice before I kill him with my axe. Pristine jacket ruined, everything inside jacket ruined (including my CR75 pristine pistol, its like God wanted to make fun of me). Dafuq?? Also, bleeding again. So this time MAKE SURE theres no zombies around before bandage. Look, look, ok, no one around. Lets bandage, start bandaing, all going well, all goin *GUUARRRGH*... DAFUQ??? again a new zombie from behind, got me while bandaging, first hit ¡BAM! arm broken, 2nd hit ¡BAM! legs broken, I desperately take out my axe and try to kill him, nothing happens (with arm broken I feel this may be normal, but my sensation was the game didn't respond). 3rd hit, you are dead. This respawn seems a bit unfair to mee, either space out the time between respawns or the distance the zombie respawns. But that instant agroed-respawning is too much. And don't mistake me, Im all into hard zombie, being killed in a few hits makes me fear those zombies. But what bugs me is my gear getting from pristine to ruined in 1 hit?? Second Question: - Is there a protection against looting your own body? how long lasts a player's body before disappearing? I went back to loot my body (lame, I know) and when I found it, I couldn't do anything. No options. Zero. Null. Instead, a friend of mine had no problems looting my body. Is there a protection against looting my own body? (not that I complain, but would be good to know) And same way, how long last the bodies? Aren't they supposed to stay until server restart? because few minutes later my body wasn't there. Same with a guy we killed (self-defense!). And Im pretty sure no one came and hid the body. Thanks for answers, and hope you guys had a good laughs reading my story as much as my friends had while it was happening -.-. Though, after an hour I was also laughing at this. But why I have always to be the jinx? -.-
  20. - Can I get wooden sticks from the bushes/trees? I need tools for that? - Can I get rocks from the ground or I have to find them as an already existent item? - Can I open food cans with rocks? - Can I open cans w/o tools, smashing them into smth? (I been wandering around for like an hour with 6 cans of food while starving, because I cant find any tools at all - Can I restore items (like damaged clothes with a sewing kit?) If so, is there a guide of how this works? - Can I wear a jacket, a T-shirt, and a pistol holster at the same time? or 2 out of the 3? - All the fruits I find are rotten, can I get fresh fruit from the trees or how do you get them? (extremely low spawn rate?)

    Newbie questions from a newbie player.

    Are the devs stated the intention to add some of those features to the game? they seem pretty logical to me. Btw, more noobish questions: I got a shotgun today and matching ammo for it (1st time I get it in the game). Ammunition 7.62x51, got 20 of them. Via inventory I can load 2 of them to the shotgun, however there's my questions. - How can I know how many bullets left I have inside the weapon? I like it not showing on the HUD as its more realistic this way, but at least should be a way inside the inventory to know how many bullets left I have. With a 2 bullets shotgun theres no problem, but an M4 with 30 bullets... different story. - How can I make the 'R' button function to reload weapon, it seems like I have to manually reload the shotgun from the inventory every time. (I didn't test a lot since a only got 20 bullets, not gonna spent them that easy. So sorry if the answers are obvious, didn't find the way).

    Intel HD Graphics 4000 a good spec? Not that the rest is good cuz its not, though it may work well. But that card... not meant for videogaming bud.

Bought the game yesterday, been testing some things today, those are my concerns so far: - Shouldn't the character throw down to the ground when running and pressing 'Z' at the same time as it was on the mod? I can't imagine being in a shootout or having to fast hide from a zombie and watching my player 'slowly and carefully' lie down on the floor xD - The mouse movement is AWFUL (dont know if its only me or what) but it's not consistent at all. The distance travel of the pointer on my screen seems to depend more on how fast I move the mouse than on the distance I move it over the mousepad. And it seems to move the less distance the faster I move the mouse (even stops). Also, I can't seem to deactivate the acceleration, the only option that appears there is 'Acceleration: activate'. - Pressing secondary mouse zooms in, as it was in the mod, but it doesn't work when you're aiming down your sights as it did in the mod. - Some controls are duplicated on the assignments list or is it me? (Like Turbo and Sprint) - Zombie bodies are disappearing after 5 seconds of killing them (server side maybe?) - My character configuration doesn't seem to save properly, every time I die I get a new random character. My configuration of sex/skin/clothes is completely ignored. (Server side again?) - I can't seem to understand zombies, sometimes it takes just a few hits to kill them, sometimes it takes a LOT (even died after trying to kill one for over 2 minutes to hit each other repeteadly xD) Also I experienced the usual problems like zombies going through walls, etc etc. But since theres 198275981 threads, there's no need to add say anything. Likes: - I can now finally open/close doors easily like in any other game. Opening doors was hell back in the mod >.< - Love the new zombie skins, and the buildings interior (though some gore would have been apreciated) - Hats, hats everywhere! And payday masks! :D

    Bought the game yesterday

    When you aim down your sights with a weapon the game zooms in, but not as much as the secondary button of the mouse (as far as Ive seen with the only 2 weapons I found for now). And in the mod, you could extra zoom with the secondary button (or the +/- key from the numpad). I used that feature a lot and now I miss it really bad. So my hopes were that now you had to bind zoom to another key (since the secondary mouse when aiming is for holding breath). However for your answer I assume that is not possible? :( just LOL. What happens if I bind both actions to the same key? (I would try myself but can't play right now).

    So... now what? (The DayZ Paradox)

    Day Z is pretty easy to win actually, log in, look around for like 30 seconds, log out. Voilà! you already survived, you won. But if you want a deeper experiencie, set objectives yourself, try to acomplish them and prepare for inconveniences. This is what the game is for, you never now what can happen to you, and how things can (and will) go wrong. Dozens of time I logged in just to do a simple thing that I thought would not take me more than 30 minutes and 6 hours after Im finding myself in the middle of nowhere wondering how the hell did things gone THAT wrong. But that's the fun of this. Time to go for those military bases I suppose.
