Why is development time being poured into more new towns?

The dev guy making the new towns only knows about one thing, making towns (well, mapping). Forbid him from that wont make for a better dev speed in other areas. -
1- Proper engine response like any other fps (movement, jumping, switching, opening doors) 2- Animations synced like nowadays fps (funny to see how my hand flys over the gun when reloading, and the gun cocks itself like Im a Jedi xD) 3- Proper game feedback (open doors makes a sound, picking up item makes sound, opening backpack makes sound. Animations to pick item, open door, etc). I think ArmA series always had a lack of feedback to the player about what your character is doing. 4- More apocalyptical scenario: corpses, gore, debris, dirtiness everywhere (think of metro 2033 epic ambientation. Even Nether has better ambientation than Day Z) 5- Seasons (winter, summer...) with correspondent effects (snow everywhere, white chernarus *.*)

I have like 30 fps when playing BeamNG so the CPU calculation behind all those amazing physics is too much for a MMO game. Wont be able to handle this plus everything else ingame.

Obviously bases should also have some sort of logout. This would allow for fortress and fun sieges instead of just hide & pray base style. For balance and fairness both vehicles & bases must have some sort of mechanics like you can only have one vehicle, you must use it within 48 hours, and idk, actually Im pretty out of ideas on this one. Having a respawn would also be a must, but also stackable like you said having 60, then 90, 120 would be too much. So really, I dont know. Point is, If I have a base or a vehicle, I want to lose them when Im online. And as me pretty much everybody would want that. So if we can figure out some solution to that... (and hope the devs actually give a fuck about it...) -

With your ideas and your responses you must be fun at meetings, but not helpful at all. Gonna explain a little better so even you may understand. OP came to this forum with a problem, a problem bothering a lot of people playing this game. People can spot other people hiding in the grass from long distances just because grass is not rendered, and we are looking for a way to fix that problem. That is our priority. - Then someone says we should force people to upgrade, which is not acceptable because is not fair at all. - Then someone says we should force people with low tier pc's to downgrade his view distance, which is also not fair at all, so not acceptable. - Then you arrive and say, "well, since this happens to everyone, means it is already fair" which yeah, is fair, but doesn't fix the problem at all, and remember, that is our priority! Which means, even this is 100% fair with no doubt, still is not acceptable!! So, long story short, we're looking for the fairest way while fixing the problem. Less than that is not acceptable. Da GrEeN SkY beats ur' ass bitch!!

When vehicles are added people will start playing on same server and ghosting and server hopping will become much less of a factor, except for lone wolves who don't give a shit about vehicles. But right now those are top everything (gear) and when vehicles and bases are added, even if they have top gear, not being bound to a server will imply being on a huge disadvantadge towards those who are. At least was like that back in the mod. Bound vehicles make sense, if not, clans would just hoard Helis and all sort of vehicles from different servers and put them together in one server, turning this into battlefield 3. And no, thanks. I already have BF3 for that. P.D: what makes a lot more sense is having some way to logout with YOUR vehicle, making things still fair for everyone though. Because back in the mod, one of the big problems was losing your vehicles simply when you were not playing because you were busy with RL. If I gotta lose my vehicle, ok, but I'd rather lose it "on track" while defending whats mine, not because im at the office. -
What made no sense is the fairness argument, and I showed you why is that. Fair doesn't mean acceptable.

Its not unfair but it's also not about fairness... that argument could also be used if we all went with god mode, which is also fair as long as all have it, but it is not really suitable in the game isn't it. Really like this solution.

Lets set some facts straight. Night time sucks right now. No flares or chemlights, clairvoyants zombies, flashlight taking both hands, gamma exploit not fixed, no sense of touch, etc. I loved playing night time back in the mod, and I never play night time now in the SA. But problem is people uses those facts as an excuse for "game needs a 2h day cycle!!", "night must only last for 15 minutes!!", "nights need to be on a scale of grey!!" and more casual videogames bullshit. Well, take note guys: night time doesn't have to be enjoyable right now, because game is an Alpha!! Yeah, I hate that argument too, but in this particular matter its suitable. Why is that??? well, because we need to see how the timezone/day cycle/night time going to be in the final product, fixing the only core problem that relates to actual day cycle: playing server with same timezones implies playing always day/night if you're used to play same schedule every day (with most of us are). So I want to see the final solution to that. When this is done, we cant focus on the rest of the problems night time implies, thus making the night enjoyable, which I think is just a matter of adding content (flares, chems, fireplaces, nvg, some sort of hud to make up for the lack of sense of touch and much more things I cant even imagine probably).

If the game takes 2 seconds to register a bullet in your head to apply the effects (dead) what makes the difference when trying to apply a side effect of innacuracy? will take too long anyway.

Not if bodies are integrated in the game. Adding new objects in the DB with new physics and code interactions would crush the performance. Which is what you are doing in an editor map, adding a lot of overlapped objects and expect the engine to handle all of them in real time. But if its integrated in the map is no different from adding a tree. Just part of the scenario, nothing else. About average IQ being too low, ofc. But people do learn. And if you see a black stain next to a butchered body, even lowest IQ will make the relation. Besides, dried blood is not thaaaat black.

I do. Game needs a lot more gore. Finding corpses and body parts and dried blood when entering a house should be a common thing.

Best playtime I ever had in Day Z was at night, I had lots of epics nights playing nighttime with my friends. I want this game to be the same. However, until flares, chemlights and fireplaces are added, you can't actually do anything at night. Did you guys even know that u can see where north is looking at constelations?

20 hour day cycle, so if you play same time everyday still will experience all time sets within a week and still make day/night last enough to make it enjoyable.

You didn't answer my question. If thats what you like, whats wrong with cs:go, or bf, or ArmA 3?. "You can't do that in COD", do what? kill people? Kill unarmed people? is the only thing you can kill? Thats why I think im more skilled than you, because I love killing people in a lot of games intended for that purpose and Im daamnn good at it. So when I come to DayZ I look for something different and I don't actually give a flying fuck about rest of the people... except if they have something I want (Im no hero at all). What would I do when Im fully geared? well, at this moment Im fully geared and what I am doing? not playing.. xD I play mostly cs:go and will only enter DayZ when someone of my group needs help or to try new updates (like today, maybe I may play). But play just to kill other people... fucking waste of time. Have a lot of better games for that.

Whats wrong with CS/BF/COD or the ArmA series itself for that purpose? I love fortuite pvp in this game, but I have this strong feeling that those like you who enter a game like this just to KoS people do it because it's the only way they can actually kill something, like an unarmed new spawn or someone unaware minding her own bussines. Because when it comes to equal chances and the hunter is also the prey, things dont go that well right? well, If you suck at fps pvp learn, dont go the easy way dude xD

This reminds me of smth. When vehicles are added, players must be able to shoot from them (even inside them, for if an intruder trys to enter my car. I remember now a fun story from the mod xD). And I hope also prone and crouch actions will make players cover themselves when in vehicles...
