Not true, they will just find a new way to protocolize and eficience the gear-up part of the game. Seen that on thousands of MMORPGs. (Unless, ofc, you make the gear-up part completely impossible). I find the OP is right, not for gameplay reasons but for the realism intended to be in this game. This sentence just got me. It makes no sense actually that medical supplies can be found in huge amounts in a hospital, because this place would be plundered in a matter of seconds if the civilization falls apart. Same with supermarkets, or the police station, and so on. If you wanted to find supplies or weapons you would have to loot mostly homes, finding small amount of pills, cans, water or even weapons/ammo each home. May be you may be luck and find a store who has not been plundered (at least not totally) but this would be mostly con small towns. Just the opposite of Day Z. Just though, if this was added, not only would add to the immersion and realism of the game, but will also reduce the permanent Deatmatch cherno and electro are these days. And it wont make the game impossible, because as I said, good players will find a way to eficience the gearing up as usual. Instead of 2 hours would be 4, so what? -

Randomness may also destroy the game. Be aware how those things are implemented, creating a game where random > skill will make this a big online casino instead of a survival game. Don't make this mistake, I've already seen that before and it is the main reason why people quits a game. //EDIT: I am not talking especially on looting systems, some randomness in this part of the game may be welcomed. My statement extend especially to every other part of the game like for hipotetical example "we added a chance to fail when repairing a wheel on your car, and the wheel will be gone" <- this would plenty suck. -

If you go play to an empty server you will find yourself bored in 2 days. Because the survival part of this game es too easy when you know the game. As the server is empty, you will find an unused vehicle and also a choppa quite easy and with this is a matter of hours to get full geared with a 6 vehicles + 10 tents camp. And then what? I don't like KoS, but I understand why the game has degradated to this. And then is when here comes the people wanting for a harder game (which is a must) but instead asking for annoying stuff because they don't understand the difference between difficulty/challenge and annoyance. What I find now fun to be playing is to start over on a server with 50/50 almost permanently and set up a nice camp with all my group plus full gear up, getting a MI17, a Huey, BAF and Ural. When we get this, we usually quit the server or start over again. This is what I consider the top game, and trying this on a 50/50 server isn't a 2 days jobs as it would be on an empty one, it takes weeks due to having to be really careful with every step we do in town and constantly finding human resistance. Zombies? like if they weren't here almost 90% of the time. Try this, is quite fun and also challenging. But there's a handicap, you need real friends to play with...

But we also want an almost vanilla Day Z, without a single extra spawn item (this is a must) and not 298175981751897519 vehicles around (A few more it's ok). I did not see any custom spawn items in the OP so I guess this server is suitable for us. -
Good idea here. Every time you log on a diff server you respawn at the beach, with your gear and all, but at a random place as if you were random starting again. I mean, if you are swithing servers isnt like you have a camp where you did unlog right? there wont such camp in the new server so you dont need to respawn there anyway..

Items spawn and zombie spawn are now handled by client. Just by changing that they will reduce hackers by 99%, and Rocket says this has been done alrdy. If there's no way you can spawn legit items, there's also no way you can modify those files to spawn unlegit items, because there's no such files. Hackers will have to hack the host, and this is not only much more difficult, but also highly illegal. However, ESP hacks will be as rampant as they're now. I'm pretty sure about this.

I had a vanilla public server once. Was looking for a server with GMT-6, nameplates off, crosshairs off and deathmessages off, imposible to find a single one like this, so I made my own. Seems like there was more people with my problem because since the first week it was full (40/40) almost everyday on prime time, I would have keep it if it wasn't for the vast amount of hackers I was banning everyday and I had no time for this as it almost required 24/7 monitoring. But I been thinking lately to host an almost vanilla private hive when I have spare time again. Been considering of taking away starting backpacks, I would not add extra vehicles besides a SUV (just one, because I love this car) and the ability to tow vehicles and lift them with the MI-17 (loved this in ACE mod). That would be all.

Nameplates sucks as it shows also the range and they also can be seen through covers like bushes. I would be ok with nameplates if it wasn't for this. In fact, I think it is a must having nameplates in any game, at least for your group/friends (which would imply some sort of friend list also)

Everyone on that 80/80 server having a better computer than you? probably yes, your computer isn't like top tech huh? that cpu sounds a bit old to me. I have a shitty computer and my CPU is still better than yours (not the VGA though) and im playing hardly at 7-15 fps on open fields. However my fps doesnt lower when entering cherno/electro. They are stable.

Aiming w/o sighs and crosshairs is also possible for well practiced gamers. Try killing floor and experience it for yourself, its been ages since I don't need a crosshair for close range anymore. Pure instinct. Crosshair aren't needed, and looks like those who say they do are not good enough nor experienced enough playing games. Rocket say this game is skill-based, so if you can't aim w/o crosshair, get better instead of QQ.

Zombies being harder is a must, problem is the way people wants to make them harder. Some of them dont want zombies to be harder but impossible (and I mean literally impossible) and others doesn't have a trully perpespective of what would happen with their ideas. "Zombies are gonna be harder by just making them hit harder and ammo more scarce!!! yay, this way Im gonna be killed less by PvP :D!!!" ...../facepalm.... The only way I spend ammo is against players so doesn't matter if ammo is scarce, I will always have a bullet for you :) Unless you get rid of fire weapons from the game (this is when the "imposible" level enters in as I commented). "Make food extremely rare, force players to survive!" ... /facepalm v2.0 ... same as before. Unless you make them to a impossible level, when only luck and not skills can save you, then it will always be a way to become fast and eficient and the only ones having problems getting food will be the newbies. Those who suggests thinks like that never ever played an MMORPG? Lots of companies have tried to reduce the gap between news and old players by hardening the stuff and they just get the opposite. Unless, ofc, it reaches impossible levels, when only luck & randomness enters the game and then the difficuly turns in annoyance. Balancing a game is an ART, a difficult art needing of subtle psychology. You have to aknowledge the huge difference between difficulty and annoyance and to visualize if your updates are part of the one or the other. You have to "force" players to play the way the game is intended without actually forcing them, and there's many ways to do that. You have to know the gamer nature better than your own, to have pscyhologyst knowledges. And then, only then, you are prepared to create a balanced and fun game. Speaking in terms of Day Z, this game screwed balance since day one. And adding updates & stuff aint gonna change it (at least not in a good way). Things should have been focused a lot different from the beginning. -

Lot's of games now have plenty of support for groups, especially steam ones. One of you creates a group, the rest join in, and the leader of the group choses the server, the map, the team, etc. (Killing Floor, L4D, BF, Aliens...). I think this game needs something similar, you create a group and you join a server with your group and you all spawn at the same random place ONLY if you are newspawns, and if you split after this, that is your problem. Next time you log in you will spawn at your last known location, regardless if your friends are there or not. Think about it, this games is supposed to be played long term and to survive for days and weeks. The only time your entire group would be newspawns it is when you join a server for the first time. It cant be used as a legit teleport.
