NO!! omg no!!!! not at all!!! We're all tired of all this new generation games where everything is so fucking easy it isn't even fun to play anymore. Real games where the old ones, when you actually had to strive yourself in order to achieve something. There's arleady enough games and franchices for casual gamers who doesn't really care for real gaming. Don't dare to take this one also!!

If we're asking for wind and more realistic ballistics it isn't solely for snipers, it should be applied to everyone weapon ofc.

You aint gaining levels, or magic skills like in a MMORPG where you're power ingame is proportional to the proximity between the geometrical shape of your chair and your ass. Having a character that needs 1000 hours, independently of how good or bad you play, to gain the maximum level is another way to force the same I was complaining before. Here, if you're good, if you're talented, if you're not a 12 yo, you can be one of the best with just one week of playing. If you're just lame playing this type of games, you won't be a good player no matter how much time you spent in it. I should call your post the Call of Duty Syndrome. Expecting the game will be randomized to the fullest so losers can have a chance to win. Well, that is the point. This ain't no shooter. I dont like the .50 cal being removed, I want them being harder to use, with more realistic balistics. So only one in a hundred may know how to properly use this weapons. Same with choppas. This render the rifles and helis useless?? well, maybe for you mate. But that is also the point in getting better at playing. This is not Call of Duty where everybody is forced onto the same level with dumb-based mechanics and nerfings and all that crap. You suck at playing? what a shame. You rock? enjoy it. This has and must be a player-skilled based game.

If not this would turn like the usual MMORPG where your game results doesn't depend on your skill but on your luck and on how many time you spend on your computer gaining level so you can 1hit-1kill people which has less spare time (well at least we still don't have the level thing here). But this is how it starts. 0 skill in just having more luck than others.

And what did I just say? people farm NOW to get AS50 because of the limitless supply the servers give, no matter how low the % spawn rate is. With my system, if there already exists enough AS50 on the server (or game, or hive. Whatever) the spawn stops. Farming is in this case impossible. With the actual system, even a 0.1% spawn time renders an unlimited quantity of AS50 over time. With my system, even a 50% spawn rate will render the AS50 much more rare, because after a maximum set number is achieve, the weapon stops spawning until some of those weapons disappears from the DB. So "farming loot for about a half of the day" is precisely what we're avoiding with this.

As I always said the M107 and AS50 need to be more rarer, but not by decreasing the % spawn rate (this, simply, doesn't work at all. People just farm those weapons on empty servers if needed), but by smth more complex. It is about calculating the total of 'played' AS50 & M107 going around and returning a spawn rate base on that. If no one have those weapons, the first one finding a Heli Crash will surely find them in it. After many people have this weapons, the spawn rate decreases, even to 0. Just by teaching the mod what a 'played' weapons is, maybe based on the number of hours online this weapons acumulate. Because if a character with an AS50 hasn't been playing for the last year... well, we could say this AS50 "doesn't exist". I would like to see something like this instead of just removing those weapons completely from the game.

No matter how harder and stronger you make the zombies, there will always be players capable of beating the zombies and still find a way to KoS you. And as soon as people learn how to, those players will be the vast majority. Unless you make the zombies impossible ofc, but that would be pointless. Is funny how people wants to fix the problems of Day Z with the mentality of a 5 year old kid: make them stronger!, faster!. Doesnt work? more strenght and speed! Still doesnt? Faster dude, faster!! This is not a matter of basic patches, you need a much more complex psychology than just a "stronger+faster" botched patch to create a feeling of danger in the player from zombies. An improved AI with walkers will be MUCH MORE dangerous than those idiots Usain Bolts we have now.

We have one rule in our group. When we're repairing a vehicle, the 'repairer' gets into the driver's seat and gets out before repairing anything. And for the rest, DON'T FUCKING TOUCH THE CAR. Works fine.

I cannot play 24 hours a day, and in an hipothetical zombie apocalypse is not realistic at all that my camp is abandoned 22 hours per day, so isn't that unrealistic to have safe zones ingame. At least when Im offline. If Im online then Im on my own defending my properties. But I would rather people to lose his stuff 'on track', not because they're at work at the moment. Im not that much into underground instances, I like them more for the thrill to have a underground bunker than for useful purposes. But I would enjoy a way to save a camp while you're not playing, like the camp unlogin with you or something similar. -
What do you guys consider an acceptable ping?

Vanilla servers doesn't necesarily mean Public Hive. I play on a Vanilla Private Server and its always 50/50, try it. MYDAYZ.de

How fast does the character jog/run in DayZ?

You WALK at around 7km/h (well, on a monday morning. More like 5km/h on a normal day). Ingame your char runs at 18km/h which isn't thaaat much. The Navy Seals Applicants have to be able to do 2.5km in 7min which is about 22km/h. Also Usain Bolt reaches 40km/h. -

This iss much better. And I must tend to agree with you. Plus, the countersniper measures will come also from a psychologycal way, because if we decided not to force them to not do it, then all we can do is 'help' them to not want to do it. As I said a few times on some other topics, Day Z screwed balance since day one and this ending in a deatmatch was inevitable. Hope they don't screw up again with the Standalone. -

In Lineage 2 it takes you YEARS to get a full geared/leveled char and it may be gone just because the admin decided to ban you. So your point is? I used to play L2 for 7 years, and even in official servers we had problems with some unfair banns (or at least what we considered unfair). But in private servers? Was much worse. Well, I was playing on a pretty serious one and still from time to time they decided to ban up to 1000 people all at once for massive abuse of a bug. And without any doubt I can tell you some of them -a small percentage- was innocent. The staff decided it wasn't worth the effort to analyze each case one by one and banned them all with an algorithm. When some folks complained in the forums about losing their years-old-characters the staff basically said "this is a private server, you pay nothing to play here, go fuck yourself" in nice words. So yeah, private means private. Abuse is gonna be here ALWAYS because thats what private means. And if your playing on a persistent world game such as any MMORPG or Day Z is, you better do some research before entering a server precisely because you will lose your work of days if you dont know where you're stepping. There will be always kidservers and serious servers, look for the last ones.

This feature exists since Arma 2 exists. But if it is pitch black darkness out there, u wont see shit. This happens ingame and in RL. One problem I see is you cannot run with your flashlight pointing front. Or the most important, your character cant use a flashlight and a gun at the same time, he must be retarded.

As it is and always will be with every game on this planet, yes, private servers have private admins that have absolute power over it. This is why they're private. Never played a CS1.6 server where kidadmins where banning or teleporting or turning everyone into a chicken? Same with BF? Same with WoW, Lineage 2 or any MMORPG you can think of? First thing you have to do when playing a private server is finding a serious one. I never joined a server (not even Public Hives) without a previous research. People tend to report abusive servers u'know.

Ahh Im ok with the torch removed. However, there's still the Makarov... If a weapon is that imprescindible, then give us a crowbar. Didn't like the full moon lights also... xD

Hurra for the removed backpack, but why remove the torch? what now if I start playing at night? I wont see SHIT: And I assure you, the makarov is gonna make HUGE difference. Is about sending a message to the player. Basic Pshycology.

Im a civilian. I can run 8km with 15kg of extra weight. Maybe I could run 10km also, didn't try. I don't think I could do it with 25kg but hell, Im sure I would be able if I train enough. However, I am not able to snipe as a professional. This why my char shouldn't be able to do that as it is now in the mod, it is upon the player to learn to counter against bullet drop, wind, ammunition type and so on. Player must be able to do that, if you are the average person, you won't, if you're above the average, have fun :) But regarding endurance, how can you add a mechanic for the player to be capable of translate endurace to their chars? Most likely you can't, an as you can't, why I have to stick up with a lazy char that can't do shit just because most civilians can't? Aren't those who do can the most suitable for survive in this scenario? But we negate his existence and remove them from the game completely because... what reason? We shouldn't stick to the average person just because they're the average. Average are dead, average are zombies. You survived until today because you're above the average. And then, the game starts. You have all you need to survive, would you know how to use it?
