    [SA] Multiple Characters

Isn't this the same as War Z has? After playing Lineage 2 for years I can tell you having multiple characters only enhances cheating. I don't want to have to worry about killing someone at Elektro and he login back with his well placed sniper secondary character to blow my head off just because he already knows where I am. I got tired of similar stuff playing Lineage 2 (I also did it myself, having my high lvl character unlogged near to my leveling spot so if I have problems with another player I just log in and beat the hell out of them with a full geared/leveled char)
  2. I remember playing ninja strike (or something like that) on the old Sega Mega Drive and having to start from the beginning of the game everytime I died. I hated/loved that game soo much...

    The "Hardcore" base

Im all in for hardcore (which doesnt mean impossible, or incoherent), but I also want 3dp person to stay. I actually enjoy watching my own character. However, I would like some way to remove the advantatge this gives, like if you're playing in 3dp, you can't see any interactive element (zombies, players and so on) that you couldn't see in 1st either.

    Suggestion: ammo pack

There's military vest suits with 6 pockets for rifle mags with 2x mags capacity per pocket, that makes 12 mags, and those are the most common. Why is that unrealistic ingame? Actually I find the ingame inventory pretty unrealistic and incoherent, you can only carry 24 morphines in a backpack (I've never seen a morphine injecter in real life, but acording to this game they must be huuuge), but then turns out you can carry 4 wheels also in a backpack. WTF?
  6. I had once a Makarov and only 7 bullets left and a 1911 with no ammo in my backpack, I desperately needed more ammo atm and all I was thinking was "let's see if I can find someone and see if it has some ammo, as I can work with makarov, colt or revolver ammo, chances are he has some I can use". And no, it wasn't by asking politely I would get that ammo... The "make things harder, loot rarer" argument makes your gear more valuable, not your live. The boat idea es really good, if I remember well I already suggested something similar once, for a camp in the middle of the sea (like in WWZ).

    One thing about -SA-

As TheLastEmp just said. It is not about a kick-ass IA, but more like just some IA bandaging-self, an not even moving unless for avoiding zombies. Only for 2-3 min. And I would add this for generical purposes, not only when being restrained - and I was also being gentle when mentioning the people with bad internet connections -. My goal would be for this to finally adress the combat-log problem. If you are in any other situation than alone and w/o any zombie/player around, IA should take care of your char if the game loses his connection to the server (be it accidentaly or alt+F4). And this should happen in almost EVERY situation, like being 50m closer to someone who's not your friend (in the case there's some sort of ingame-friendlist), or close to zombies, or being shot at (in fact, if you are in a 1km range of a shootout taking place, you shouldn't be able to disconnect), so as being chase/targeted by zombies, unconscious, seriously harmed or in a core zone such as big cities or airfields (I'm tired of people login on my back inside buildings - wether it is casuality or server hopping). This is not CS when you play for 20 min, get tired and then just click disconnect. This is closer to an MMORPG game, and In every MMORPG game I know, you MUST think where are you disconnecting if you don't want to die when in a loading black screen due to monsters or another players. On our clan-TS3 thinks like "Gotta go in 3 min, I better get going to a safe zone to disconnect" we're normal. Same goes here I would say.

    One thing about -SA-

If you logout IA should take care of your character rather than dying (sometimes people has connection failures you know, and would be a shame if that could get your char killed)
  9. Again the force field argument. How do you explain your gear disappearing when you die? what sort of Magic is that? O.o

    DayZ Standalone Discussion

For the ammo, I would like to keep it real. Magazines and bullets should be separate entities, and if I find an AK 47 with one magazine, and I find a 200 bullets magazine of an m249, I could keep refilling the AK mag with the m249 mag, as they use the same caliber 7.62.

    DayZ Standalone Discussion

Let's put my country, Spain, for example. Here, fire weapons are ilegal. However, you can still get a license for them if you demonstrate you need it for your personal safe (in which case only a judge can give you the license or not, and only for self defense guns -aka pistols-). Or for hunting/shooting sports, in which case you're limited to hunting rifles or pistols .22. However, the army has lots of weapons (G36 assault rifle & USP HK pistols), same for the police -every cop has 2, for service and personal use- (and we have 4 different polices here xD). Also there's specialized stores for hunters or sport shooters, with dozens even hundreds of weapons on display. We also have our small percentage of weapons illegal traffic. And now pay attention to this fact, Spain is the 7th country in the world on weapons exports. So, maybe there are not that much weapons for civilian sales, much less military weapons, but for sure there's out there lots of warehouses or fabrics with literally thousands of weapons. Plus all the military HQ and police stations. Now I ask you, even for an european country with weapons ilegal, and where the vast majority of civilians doesn't have fire arms, do you still think getting a weapon in case of a zombie outbreak wouldn't be the first fucking thing I would do? (and probably achieve easily?). I don't think weapons should be as rare as winning the lottery, I think they should be controlled in absolute numbers. This means, if there are high powered sniper rifles like the M107 in the SA, they shouldn't have a 0.01% chance to spawn, but to be limited to for example 5 units in a server. As long as all the units aren't picked up, more M107 will keep spawning with a moderate chance of 10% if you visit a military HQ or Heli Crash, but when the 5 units are "on use" (aka ACTIVE players have it), then they stop spawning (chance 0%). So there you have the weapon rarity in the game.
  12. I just came up with an idea. What about a mini-game to repair cars? like having a 2D image of an engine with some parts to connect, and you have to connect it properly depending on whats broken and whats not. And ofc different car types would have different engines, so if you want to be skilled repairing vehicles you would need a lot of expierence doing it. This way it would be player-skill based. Doesn't depend on classes, levels or ingame-skills, nor tools which can be stolen (and probably getting you murdered in the process).
  13. And whats's the difference between this and classes? And why I have to depend on my good/bad luck instead of some sort of PLAYER skill to decide if I can or cannot repair a car? Why people insists in turning this into a big casino? Go play Lineage 2, a game where EVERYTHING is fucking random. And then come back and tell me you still like the success/fail chance system. The limited tools space sounds good, though better if not that limited I would say, but more than adding a lot more of tools. Problem is, everything that is in the character can be steal. Like someone already stated, a bandit will just kill you and get your tools to heal herself. I would go for knowledge. Its not that you need special tools to pilot a heli, it is that you need to actually take your time to learn to do it, and that makes YOU valuable. Not your character, not your gear. There before a bandit cant kill you to take profit, the only way someone can benefit from you is by keeping you alive.
  14. Better. But still don't like your idea. A far more limited inventory? Turn out as the game is right now I can only carry 24 epinefrines in a Czech Backpack? kidding my right?? I could fit 24 epinefrines in one single pocket from my jacket!!! You want to make medics more valuable? same as I said with the helis, the medic system should be complicated enough for medics to be the ones who took the time to learn all of it.
  15. Precisely bandaging isn't unrealistic. You stop the bleeding, not heal the gunshot, this is done by eating/bloodbag (there's what the unrealistic part is). Or being able to run with a gunshot in your leg, totally unrealistic. But is still far away from Safe Zones with Field Forces. (And still I would change a lot of the actual medic system, as it is done in the SA). BTW about the rotor, the name says rotor PARTS, problem is the 3D object. However the wheel is indead a wheel and I can carry 4 Truck wheels inside a Czech Backpack? wtf? This already exceeds what I would like, I would rather be able to carry items with your hands and having to drop them if you need to do any other action. This seems more reasonable to me. If you want to change the pvp mentality of this game, start by reducing the over population of Cherno and Elektro, big cities should be an ultimate and endgame achievement. Not a newspawn schoolyard. Oh, and fixing all the dupe bugs. Because the gear is actually hard enough to get (didn't see a NVG/RangeFinder in MONTHS after literally hundreds of heli crashes, but im always finding bandits with them....). And when people is full geared, there's only one thing left to do. I myself became a sniper hill once I had everything posible in this game (however, I was only shooting bandits. still have a heart I guess).
  16. Totally agree, but those skills should come from the player, not the character. This is why I think helis should be as difficult to fly as in ToH Veteran mode (which is still doable with keyboard + mouse but difficult enough for not everyone to know how). Or to use a snipe properly, or a lot more of ideas, but always from the user side. Never the character, never ingame skills, or levels, or classes.
  17. And how do you explain to force field impeding me of killing a survivor? The Zombie outbreak came with some sort of Black Magic or what? How do you explain this in terms of realism? Healing broken bones with morphines it is already the maximum far away from the reality I would ever go. Your idea is just too much arcade, goes the opposite way of what Day Z is supposed to be.

    Cars explode too easy

Yeah, this looks like a Michael's Bay movie. Everything blows up.
  20. Guns doesn't look that awesome for a 2013 game (more like a 2006 game). Arma 3 guns look WAAY better, don't know why they can't use them.
  21. Happens the same to me. I thinks it's due to the low fps.

    wtf is this

Thats actually not true. They could very well create some sort of "visual sense of touch", specially for the night. There's sometimes in the night I don't even know if crouching or standing, running or walking, going up or down a hill... is that realistic? hahaahahaha I would say no. But with a HUD helping me to "notice" the position of my character, or a 3D image black&white image of what Im touching (a tree, a fence, the inclination of the floor...) it may help a lot. Hope the add something similar in the SA.

    wtf is this

I love nights more than daytime, but with this retarded character who doesn't know how to use a gun and a flashlight at the same time, I may very well just be blind because it is the same. So the locked moonlight time looks fine to me, it is still not the same than daytime but at least you can shoot and see where you're shooting at the same time.
  24. I voted yes but I don't know exactly what you mean by a Coop Mode. I would say "yes" to "my" Coop Mode. Not about eliminating friendly fire, or free teleports for anyone, nor any team chat (unless it's supported by some realistic way like radios, and even with this should be interfered). But I would say yes to a coop-mode which shows up nametags when I aim at my friends (compensating the lack of facial recognition), or a coop mode that shows up in my journal, and if the game has some interactive elements (like locked doors, or locked cars) then some sort of coop-mode/clan-mode/team-mode is a must to know whos able to use the car and who's not (as long as this still can be bypassed by some ingame mechanism that takes a little more time than just turning on the car). But for anything else, its a 'no' from me.

    Bandits and You

Campers are not bandits. Newspawns-killers are not bandits. Cod kiddies are not bandits. Ambushing players, killing for loot, robbing w/o killing (if you have the guts), that's a real bandit. And I love real bandits in the game (I am one), I despise the rest of the self-proclamed bandits.
