Tent/farm etc. mark on server's name where you have tent/farm etc.
Nesuma (DayZ) replied to Khajiit13's topic in Suggestions
Maybe just add a working favorite servers function. Edit: Or last servers, with date, right order etc. -
They should just add the survivor book from the mod again.

Sure. I wouldn't harm a fly in a real situation, no matter if it was a zombie apocalypse or anything else. But.. It is a videogame. And it makes fun in a videogame. Sorry, but I can't roleplay in DayZ to reenact my real life personality. In some other games I can but DayZ is impossible to role play in my opinion :)

Keep in mind that the map is only 15x15 kilometers. The range can't get that much bigger without making it ridiculous ingame.
-
That sounds like you're saying that 90% of the DayZ players aren't normal. Good job. Sure, it does feel to good to help someone especially if the person thanks you. But after all it's still a action video game where you want to have real fun. And PvP is definitly the better way for fun, regarding the adrenaline rush, the risk, the reward, the teamplay, the gear, etc.

Yes, exactly like I imagined. I've to admit that I didn't even think about the 3rd person people. Another solution would be that you could still press 1 button without having something else to do but it takes atleast two or three times longer than you doing it by yourself.

That makes me wonder why there aren't buildings with closed blinds. Exactly, I hope these buildings are also "alpha" and we will get atleast 3 different police stations. It would be even enough if the buildings had some random aspects every serverrestart (or every week WHEN servers don't restart anymore). For example: Closed blinds, different furniture, random pictures, dead zombies on the ground ( I miss corpses, where did they go), different cars in front of the building etc. Something to give every building a "story".

It affect core gameplay and makes sense, I would like to see the option somehow like this: You press e.g. "r" --> your weapon, the mag and your stash of bullets appears on the screen --> you pull one bullet into the mag and then the mag into the weapon. The screen disappears and you can fight. This would make you to be ready for fight all the time, and not reloading while running but reloading in cover.

The link doesn't change anything. We wont be able to move while checking the backpack in the future, that is for sure. You also said that you'd prefer pressing 5 keys than opening your inventory. I think this is the wrong way to approach. Some time ago I posted in a different thread that I want every inventory move to be a small "minigame" where you've to do something with your mouse or keys. E.g. pulling every single bullet into your mag and then the mag into your weapon. But pressing "c-g-r-h" or what ever to reload doesn't make sense. More player-skill based action yes, but not with random keys.

You want more realism but on the other hand you think it wouldn't be difficult to find one particular bullet in the lower left pocket of your trouser without looking at it (which resembles the gui)?

Human versus human/Human versus zombie combat

Did you realise that he posted it in the "suggestion" section? -
I think we should make this guy the new head of the dev team. And Koala: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irony

Don't you get it? You are the military people. Just imagine your story. That's what DayZ is all about.

Maybe a bit too much, but I'd love to have a more colorful game. As long as they add more gore so it still looks like an apocalypse.

You're approaching from the wrong side. Right now they player who sits on his chair can learn how to shoot and will get better with time. You try to cover this with ingame mechanics, because you think of bandages and other things. And you're right with this. Right now, the only thing you (the real you) can learn is shooting. Therefore I hope for minigame-like mechanics for everything. Need to apply a bandage? Take it into your hands, "use" it and then you've to wrap it around your arm with your mouse or whatever. Or you've to drag and drop every bullet into your magazine and then pull the magazine with the right side into your weapon. Using your mouse. Sadly, it will never happen. Even if they are good enough to programm it, too many people would cry.

Some hints and tips for noobs
Nesuma (DayZ) replied to Mookie (original)'s topic in New Player Discussion
Actually I wouldn't recommend the first aid kit. I used to have it all the time but you don't need 6 spaces, ever. 2 bandages (or better 12 rags) will never run out, bloodbags and saline are useless because you already heal around 1/s and every other medical item doesn't work yet. Therefore it isn't that smart to pick up the med kit -
No please no

Maybe some people hope that DayZ won't be only a game about survival, shooting people or zombies and more like the greatest and most realistic zombie simulator ever? Even if some things like throwing poop don't have to be added, in my opinion. (Still the best post I've seen in this forum.) And for the dick-discussion: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/178284-using-spraycans-to-leave-messages-on-houses-mark-trees-and-for-self-defense/

God this is epic, I hope they will add all of this one day. Beanz for first person helmet and banana!
-
I like it, but I bet there will be people trying tell you that "it would be totally unreasonable to wear one in a world like dayz" But I guess suits are going to be added, it doesn't harm and once they made all important things we will get every possible clothing item.

Possible reward for early access testers?
Nesuma (DayZ) replied to Tyrianrage's topic in Suggestions
How about we just wait for the implementation of decent character modelling? And then just recreate ourselves? I guess somebody just wanted to be special -
Once we get a weight system, I wouldn't even mind if you could pack 666 pistols or 5 rifles, or 3 melees in your trousers... IF it affects your movement and stuff.

Hey guys, I just found my first animal and remembered the hunting back in the mod, and especially the reason for it. Back then, if you played alone meat was the only decent way to regenerate health. (A steak gave 800 blood while the maximum was 12000. Beans only gave 200) But now in the SA I don't see a reason for hunting at all, I know, the amount of spawning food will decrease and we will get more zombies, but after all, it just takes you a bit less than 84 minutes to regenerate your complete health. Food is everywhere, water isn't even really needed to regenerate. Even diseases from water wont change that much. Right now you don't even use more food while running. This is ridiculous. And I worry about what the team wants to do against this problem, in my opinion there are these possibilities: 1. This is the most obvious solution, reduce the amount of food and drinks you can find in a town. There should be enough to keep you alive, but never give you the "energized" or "hydrated" status. (Unless you use a waterpump with purificated water). This results in another problem, if you play in a group you cant keep 2,3 or even more people alive. And if they dont add a spawn system which depends on the amount of players in the area (I wouldn't like this), you couldn't survive in a group due to too few food. 1.1 First solution for the new problem: Spawn enough food to keep a group of around 4 people well fed (maybe the dark energized). This way you could still play as a group. But it would result in too much food for lone wolfs, and small groups. 1.2 Second solution: Spawn a player depended amount of loot. 2. Seperate blood and health even more, I'd recommend to bring back the old system somehow. The first step would be to decrease the amount natural regeneration (right now it is 1 of 5000 health per second) Maybe change it to 0.5, 0.3, 0.1. And then make the food give you short boosts in regeneration. A can of beans gives you 80 seconds of +1 on top of your natural regeneration, a steak givs you 80 seconds of +2, or 160 seconds +1. Something like this to recreate the need of hunting. I'd prefer number 2. I hope you understood my intention and I'd like to see some feedback :)

This and maybe if you could take more than 1/5 of your maximum blood into a bloodbag. Along with less regeneration it would be a step in the right direction one day :)

Yes you guys are right, I know it's alpha but I take this as my contribute to the development. (talking about things and how I would solve them)
