  2. Please, just look at the suggestion forum and read a bit through the posts, acid574 is saying the truth... It's ridiculous how many people use the search function before posting their own idea which was posted 1000 times ago. Also, they already had an acceptable system in the mod and it is very sure that they're going to make an equivalent in the SA, too....

I've a question for you, players. Why are there so many players who are upset because of banditry or kos? I don't know it, should i feel guilty for playing this way? I just dont want to play with random folks if i can play with friends and I also LOVE it to get presents in form of the gear of another player. But I'm asking myself, am I playing this game wrong? So many people are telling that it is not ok to play like this. I've to admit that I never, ever use my bullets in zombies. Why should I, if I've melee weapons? Ok, there was a time without melee but let's ingore it. In my group we're shooting every person we see, just because it's fun, action, you get the gear, are safe and so on. I think that sometimes friendly playing is nice (when im playing alone I try not kill, except for example a super geared person/someone at NWAF, etc.) but all in all my main goal in DayZ is gearing up (mod: finding a car/ build up a camp) and then have some action against other persons. But I'm still saying, that I like the system with zombies more as, for example, wasteland. The zombies add a higher amount of danger to the banditry. (ATM zombies are just ridiculous, maybe if there are more than 3 zombies per town I'll even shoot one :o) What I'm trying to say is, that sometimes i feel like playing DayZ wrong, if people really tell me the only thing they do in Dayz is finding ammo to kill zombies to get to places to find ammo, I would say that this game sounds boring. But why are there people happy with it? For what are they having their heavy weapons? Killing more Zombies? And don't tell me I should play a modern shooter, I'm not someone who finds his first gun and then stays in cherno to get kills. I know that this is a really messy text, but i hope you got my point. I'm looking forward to read answers from "Heros" and "Bandits"
  5. Hello :) I'll just start to list my ideas, if there is anything you don't agree or if something is already implemented, just say something: 1. I dont think that for items like a military helmet/kevlar vest should be completely ruined by one pistol bullet, more like damaged/badly damaged if it was pristine. 2. If you shoot at a backpack, not every item should be instant ruined, i think every bullet should damage 1 or maybe 2 random chosen items. 3. If you've for example 18 5.56 bullets in your inventory, one shot should not ruin all 18, more like ruin 1, badly damgae 2 and "worn" 3. 4. There shoud be a possibilty to seperate the destroyed items from the pristine ones. 5. Damaged food and drinks should contain less food (I think this is already planned, yet buggy). 6. If youve a box, for example the ammo box, it should save the interiors from getting damaged Hope you agree with my ideas, just show me your oppinion and maybe they will get added one day, when the serious problems are done.

    Ideas about the condition of items

    It still has consequences and you can't stop KoS by making it ridiculous useless, if i one shot a person (Is every rifle 1-hit at the moment? Please answer :D) i dont want to accept that i destroyed his helmet his jacked his shoes and his 1 meter large backpack full of steel boxes. Reduce KoS with the amount of zombies like in the mod (Amount from Mod, strengt from SA, already said it in another post), not with such "ideas".

    Third person view removal from SA discussion

    Someone wrote that he wants to reduce the 3rd person to running and if this would be possible, I would prefer this one. I dont really like running in 1st person cause it seems to be a bit more laggy and I like to watch myself walking because the environment is not that interessting most of the time. But on the other hand I've to say that i love the only 1st person style where you need a small backpack to look behind you and no one can look around a corner. All in all i dont think, that it is possible to make 3rd person only availabe while running or don't rendering persons in the 3rd view so I think the best choice would be different servers

    I agree with the stacking of clothes and filling bottles by another bottle but the stacking of bandages etc. would be not the point of the game, 5 bandages just need more space in your pocket than one. The only reason you can stack rags is that the professional bandages have a percentage and you can use them more than once if I remember this right

    Oh jeah, you're right but i think that it is a bit complicated and needs a LOT of space to split 20 bullets to 20 single bullets to check which one is good and which one is bad

    Zombies as a cure for KOS

    ATM the game is defininetly not balanced, the zombies are a joke but I've to say i really liked it how it was in the mod. If we get the amount of zombies from the mod, and the "character" from the zombies in SA with for example running inside of buildings, then it'll be balanced in my oppinion, and even if not you can still adjust it step for step. Back in the mod i shot a player, ran in a building, chopped the zombies with my 3 meter range hatchet but in the SA with the amount from the mod i'd have to shoot the person and then maybe shoot the zombies too or take a long time for chopping them one by one running around, with the risk of another player. I think this would be perfect

    Uhm so you think that in a real apocalypse everybody would be buddys? There would be lots of bandits (really not me, woudn't open such a thread if I'm that cold hearted). Did i say that I'm cool? :D

    But how should it? The only way for it to become a deathmatch game are servers giving you a pistol and ammo when spawning and functions like respawn everywhere

    I think you missunderstood this, we're not searching weapons at NWAF and then go back to the spawns and make a mass murder, we're driving/running around, for example from NWAF to Stary to NEAF and if we find someone... How did they get there, sorry :o Well, I think it is really intenstive to sneak upon a player and wait for the perfect moment and hope that nothing happens. And with the PVP shooter, games like cod/bf3 etc. are something extremley different (no gear and losing and these epic things). In DayZ you don't want to die, you play carefully, you CARE for yourself. Dont compare these games, dont be that guy. I'd say the point is, that if you're 3 persons you just need more gear and less fellow survivors ;) Also it is not like I've no honor, I'd never shot someone in the back who helped me. Not even if the person has a car and we need it.

    Maybe everybody has a M4 but what about the Ammo? I love it how they got rare and if you really have to shoot zombies in an upcoming patch, because there are more than 2 in a town, ammo will be even more rare. I love the new system but have to admit that youre all geared up not later than zelenogorsk so i hope they'll just add more better stuff. I don't want the motorcycle helmet and hunter trousers counting as one of the best items. And please , reduce the spawn rate of the helmet even more :D

    Some various ideas & suggestions for Standalone

    1. Would be very cool, if youve the choice, hang it up for better results or be fast and only gather 30-60 percent. 2. I think this already exists in some way(watch the livestream). 3. Would be really epic, i think of a situation where you kill somebody and find the weapon you carried a week ago :D. 4. I think this would be too much effort for to little results. 5. Dont like this idea, maybe if you can find parts but also a already completed weapon. Or for example, you can find the pieces in low loot areas and the whole gun only in top tier zones. 6. Why not both?
  16. I don't know if some of you know the game "The last of us", I watched the gameplays and after them I think it would be epic so see some of the things of this game in DayZ. Here's a listwith explanation of things I liked: -First, the loot system, I think it's much better if you find 2 bullets there, 3 bullets in this desk, 1 revolver bullet in this cupboard instead of full magazines. -the cooperative parts, like one has to boost the other one, hold the garage door open while the other one crawls inside, etc. I think these things shouldn't be rewarded with important things, more like a can, some bullets. Things that are good if you've them but if not it shouldn't be a problem. -fight with nothing but the hands, I just hate it to get killed because of one fault and you don't have any weapon. With this option it shoudn't be possible to kill thousands of zombies but if there is 1 oder 2, maybe they haven't even spotted you yet it would be nice to have a way to fight and take them out. -flashlight not as weapon, more like the option to put it on/off like the lights of a car (or maybe just if you have a hand gun, or if you want to have a rifle and a flashlight you can't aim and if you spray it's extreeeemly inaccurate. -(this suggestion doesnt really have something in common with the last of us) Make more rubbish in the houses, I'd like it to find many things but only some useful in everyhouse but the rubbish should still have a small sense, even if you just can throw everything to distract zeds. (Also make the throwing system more useful, atm its so useless... make toilet paper light and throwable!! :D I hope you saw the points of my suggestions and please leave your oppinion/ideas below :)

    Pretty small font :D But jeah in some points youre right but bloodbags for example also "punish lone wolves" and reward teamplayers, if these spots (in this case a door) are just for some bonusloot not for anything really good, more like i said, like 2 cans and a bandage, you know, there would be no problem :)

    Haha first, funny discusion because of my spelling mistake, sorry that im not the best in english :P And second, jeah it would be difficult but i think it would be cool enough if there're just some doors which have to be opened with 2 people pressing "opening door" and why should it be impossible to spawn a few bullets, even now its possible to find a half magazine from another player?

    So... after a few days with the new patch, I've to say, J love it, first i was like: No, to crank shit, infection 24/7 etc.... but now i really love it. You have to crawl, wait and if you get spotted you gonna have a bad time. I like it, but if its this hard it should be possible to crawl without bugs, me, crawling trough grass, on the right side a 30 cm cement wall and behind it a zombie. Suddenly he spotted me... running to the next hole, walk through, running towards me and start attacking. If you get spotted during crawling 1 meter behind a zombie over a street, ok but in some cases they're just to good in hearing. Like in my last post I'd really like to see some of your ideas to this problem, my suggestions, lower the sound system and if not, let them slowly approach to the places where they heard something, not like instant sprint+attack. Just check my other post for the full idea. Now to the second Idea, the infection is quite hard, every 15-30th hit i get infected but I think it's still okay if they would implement a system that if you get infected and take antibiotics it should be impossible to get infected for the next 6/12/24 hours (what ever but long enough to have the chance to find a cure again). I got this idea 15 minutes ago while playing. I was in electro, waiting for a mate, found 1 pack of antibiotics. 10 Minutes later i get infected by a normal zombie (1:500 chance, jeah sure). So I take my antibiotics. Because my friend was still not there i walked back to the hospital, hoping for another antibiotics. On the way I get infected again (5 minutes later). No Antibiotics, now I'm waiting for my mate who got some... And for the realistic part in it, antibiotics stay in your bodies for atleast some hours...

    4 Ideas/Suggestions

    Hello :) In this thread i want to show you some of my ideas (especially for the SA), please take some time to read all 4: 1. I 'd really like to see some medical cupboard like this. I think they should spawn random (if they were looted they should disappear 5 minutes later and than spawn somewhere else after 15-30 minutes) in civil houses. They should contain thinks like, 2 Bandage 1 Painkiller 1 Morphium/Antibiotics (just an example) http://www.sichere-k...ssnahmen/01.jpg 2. Also I want that you could shift with every move, not only walking, for example shift+y for a slow lay down. This should reduce being spotted by zombies. 3. The third point I really want for this game: I think many people already said this but I think the players need more possibillitys to get away from zombies, I think of jumping/climbing through open windows, throwing raw meat to distract them or make them walk to a specific point and maybe a possibility to punch with your weapon. If they make a condition for weapons it should make some more dmg than a shot, but also different, for example, with a lee enfield it should just make damage like 4 shots and with a assault rifle like the m4a1 it should make 15x and so on. This punches dont have to be killing, it would be enough if you could knock down a zombie for 30 seconds. 4. And especially for the SA, I think this idea is also said by many others, too. Just make the characters more unique, I mean, not just like premade faces, more like the options in games like Skyrim/Sims/... I hope you get what I tried to say and maybe you can give me your oppinion to these ideas :)

    Sorry :D, I wanted to say, if you press shift you can walk slow/crawl slow etc. Sometimes I get spotted cause of lying down and I would like to have an "shift" for every command, for crouching, for looting, for switching weapons, for the thing to get over fences etc... this way you could do everything more careful and if you dont use shift it would be nice if zombies spot you more often (also helps against players, hiding in a bush and switching weapons fast can make spotted :D would be a nice gimmick
  25. First off all, the 1.7.7.1 patch really did his job, now you can really enjoy the new features but on the other hand... I don't know if it's just me who is annoyed how zombies spot through walls. 10 Minutes ago, freshly spawned at Solinichy, wanna try my luck... sneeking over the road, everything ok but than, on the grass path next to the road i start running while crouched. BLRÖGHAWdA, screaming zombie, where? Behind a wall and a little house, ~ 20-30 meters away. I think this is quite to much and I thought of 2 things. First, the hearing overall, maybe they should't hear you over this distance through buildings while you crouch over grass... maybe if you run full speed over the highway but... jeah, I think you get the point. Now, to my 2. Idea, maybe the zombies just shoudn't run straight to you after spotting via sound, I think it would be better ( and more realistic) if they maybe, don't know, maybe do something like a smelling or a surprised grunt and walk mid tempo (much slower than chasing but still faster than normal walking around) to where they spotted you. What are you thinking of this idea?
