Wait, is DayZ this far? Is it actually working up today?
-
I hope they will add something like this, not only for the mp5 and the shotgun. And I don't even think that it will be even a little bit unbalanced once we get a decent stamina, volume and weight system.
-
They could improve it by making a belt/backpack/rope necessary. Beans

Ok jeah MC really rules, but nobody wants to admit it nowadays with all those 11 year old letsplayers and the image they created. You got me wrong, I like the map, and I am always flattered when I spot one of the new places, but I play since the mod and therefore I know most things. Right now, they add new things in every patch, which is great. I can explore them. But I don't want this to stop, therefore I support the idea of new places, for example an island, a very gigantic forest, a huuuuge lake, high mountains etc. I want there to be things to explore even in 2 years. And for the scale, other games like Skyrim (not sure how much smaller the map is) still gives more to explore while traveling. (Yes I know it's a complete different game, but with zombies everywhere and no more sprinting all the time, it will get better) ps: You always have to add something in a nice conversation like this :D)

You have to be talkin' about minecraft, biggest map ev3r! i love minecraft add me on youtub mcdayzlp2001 Joke aside, I wasn't the guy who made this thread but I want to support his opinion, hoping that it will be noticed and the devs know that the players are expecting a bigger map. Once you actually have to drink after a sprint, eat more / find less food, while needing more if you walk faster the map will feel bigger. Right now it is small, 30 minutes from south to north. That's nothing, also because there's nothing to do on the way, no threats or something worth the break. Just place something heavy on W....

No. The map IS small, to what is possible. Even if it's the greatest in a game right now, it CAN be bigger and it WILL be bigger. Today there was a post with 6 things and I remember dean said he wants that you can travel from 1 map to another, maybe the will just add it instead of different servers like in the mod.

Six Upcoming Developments That Will Change DayZ for the Better - Loot Rarity (wait, whaat?)
Nesuma (DayZ) replied to darkgritty's topic in General Discussion
If they do it nicely, it's cool but it will never work good enough. I haven't played for 2 weeks. If I had rare items I would stop the flow of items, do you want to kill everbody not playing for 2 days? Also, things were rare back then, too. The problem was that once you found an as50 for example, you could keep it for ever. Now, with a damage-system which will maybe work in 2 years you can't just shoot all the time because your weapon will get worse. --> This will balance the amount of every item. Back in the mod your friend could take all your things after you died, now they would be destroyed. And how are they going to choose the server, which spawns the next availabe "nvg"? There are definitly better ways to keep special things rare... (maybe spawn them in a bad condition and you've to repair them fast. Everything is better than this). If they want a realistic economy, they should add different modes, containing one with special private white listed hives, where only one group of 40 players are listed and if you die you've to wait for the next month. (Like all the "hungergames" modes" -
Svetlogorsk Navy Base & More Randomized Objects

I don't get what you want to say with this? -
Svetlogorsk Navy Base & More Randomized Objects
Nesuma (DayZ) replied to Loopest's topic in Suggestions
With different locations you mean random locations chosen at each server restart from a definite amount of possible places? I'd like this. And for the realism, if they add a naval base every ship should be damaged in some severe way (broken mast, stranded, exploded motor, I think you know what I mean), so it doesn't look like you could use it. (There should also spawn repairable ships one day) -
But only if you can actually hunt the wolves afterwards, they shouldn't be sound only.
-
I hope they will work that out quite soon, along with a weight system and a decent damage system. 1 Bullet destroys 1 backpack. It didn't make me stop kos at all, just made it less wonderful.

Beans for tags. And a idea which nobody understands why it isn't implemented yet.

Are we always going to have two characters? Reg/HC
Nesuma (DayZ) replied to spartacusrex's topic in General Discussion
I like the fact that hardcore servers have their own community. They create 2 completely gameplay experiences, and I'd like them to stay separated. (Atleast until we get serious private hive servers) -
Armed Helicopters Are NOT Overpowered
Nesuma (DayZ) replied to [email protected]'s topic in General Discussion
Again and again the same "opinions". Oh god. No. They. Won't. Be. Able. To. Loot. Everything. You've to know, helicopters are making sounds (quite loud), and they're always visible (you can see through air). If you want to loot a spot, you've to fly there and land, maybe drop off somebody and then fly away. Now let's think about the places worth it to loot for a group with a helicopter: Airfields, Military bases, hospitals. Aaaaand now we realise that there are always people near the said places. --> Everbody will see you, everbody will hear you. You take around 1 minute to land, drop off somebody and then fly away. 1 Minute, of almost no movement. Every person would see you. And even if they don't shoot at the helicopter ( I guess weapons won't damage a helicopter immediatly with 1 shot), they will wait for your mate to jump out. And shoot him. There is nothing easier in DayZ. And you can't do anything. And if you want to avoid this, you've to land 2 kilometers away. Jeah that's how I imagined looting everything. And for the people who are now thinking: Well, what's is the purpose of helicopters then? Do what I just said, if they want to risk it, why don't you let them? Also flying to Islands, taking a break (once zombies are "added" 20 minutes in 2 kilometers heigh are calm), enjoying the world, maybe even see a bad placed car or tent? I can't understand why so many people are crying that their tents can be detected Sorry if this sounded mean, but if you read all these posts, containing the same thing again and again... -
Has this been identified as a problem yet?
Nesuma (DayZ) replied to jubeidok's topic in General Discussion
Well I don't think that a punch with a hacksaw would knock somebody out. They have to make every melee weapon unique (maybe in beta :/ ), for example that a hacksaw makes you bleed and losing blood from 3 deep cuts from a hacksaw would make you unconscious fast enough. Back to topic, op is right. -
Will be added someday. Along with more face modification anyway, I guess.

Word of warning about "Heavy PVP | Noobs are Welcome" server
Nesuma (DayZ) replied to muldune's topic in General Discussion
But what if they just want to warn us? I guess it is productive in this case. -
the ussles deads in - please wait and lose conection
Nesuma (DayZ) replied to jgbtl292's topic in General Discussion
Well actually I have to admit now that I don't see a way how a invulnerable "please wait" phase could be exploited. Maybe make it possible to handcuff someone who is logging in. All this with a subtle notification that someone logged in (for the other players) and that someone is near you (for the one who joined, only around20 meters) should actually make it better. Even if I don't have any problems with the actual system, I got attacked by a zombie once during the logging in process, but nothing worse happened. -
the ussles deads in - please wait and lose conection
Nesuma (DayZ) replied to jgbtl292's topic in General Discussion
Never happened to me, also still better than combat logging or server hopping without any problems. Also, Alpha (for the please wait part) -
I guess this is the way they're going, regarding the apple trees and berry bushes. Nice!
-
Always remember, Less guns and more ammuniton will make it worse. Quite "many" guns but very rare ammunition is the way we should take.
-
You're damn right, and after the last patch I can imagine that they are capable of actually implementing these things. But I'm still wondering why ammo is spawning in groups of 20-50, in the beginning people said that's because we've alpha right and and with more ammo we can try more things and find more bugs. But right now, I don't think there is anything about the mosin and it's ammunition to find out anymore, or am I missing a part?
-
They fixed it again. You can 1 hit a zombie with the fixeaxe no matter where you hit him. This and the still small amount are making the zombies useless again. I think we should keep headshot only melees until there more than 10 zombies per town.

Realistic Animal Behavior, More animals
Nesuma (DayZ) replied to WheresWallyNow's topic in Suggestions
I guess baby animals, the urine scent and herds can wait a bit, maybe next year but noises, birds (feathers for arrows) and aggresive animals are definetly something they should add sooner, good job.
