  1. No just no, he is better buying a new system. He'll need a New Motherboard and with that new ram so he misawell get a new up-to date system.

    This.

Since we don't know ALL the specs of said PC, it's safe to assume most of it will not be compatable with a new mobo. For instance, current setup may have ide drives, new mobo may only have sata connections. Is his power supply up to the task of a newer system? A PC is much more than it's seperate components.

OP, while there is nothing wrong with your pc for most everyday tasks, it's simply a bit behind for gaming. I'd suggest looking into a new one, especially if you plan on getting the SA when it's released.

  2. I'll go ahead and suggest atv's. For the most part, they're easier to hide than tents and they're portable. Just make sure you learn all their quirks first. Avoiding bridges is a major one. lol. If you have a decent pack you can keep 2 primary weapons on you and a spare tire or 2 and shoot out your tires before you log out to help try and keep your ride.

  3. Agreed that starting gear completely defeats the purpose for me but that is what most of what DayZ player base wants, the kiddies at least.I ran a vanilla server with some custom modifications, debug monitor, removed the m107/as50/dmr/l85a2 aws. My players only spawned with a chech bag, a bandage, and a flashlight. Those changes put me in the same place as you, I think my peak was 2 players LOL. Before private hives, I had a 40/40 server that was full almost 24/7. Private hives gave admins to much power over the game and completely destroyed the mod, now if you don't start with a gun, have over 1k vehicles and 24/7 daylight your probably wont get many players. This is why I shut my server down until the standalone.

I see you took that advice. I tried to check out the server but it was too dark to see. If you're going on local time, changing the day/night cycle would increase traffic. We all know you can't use a flashlight in this game and it shows in the server list.

  4. Oh, I have no problem with why they are doing it, it just that seems that you aren't getting a very big bang for your buck.

    This.

I have no problem with private servers giving perks for "donations". I do feel they should be sensible enough to keep perks/donations to a minimum. For example a $5 donation will spawn with camo or a ghillie, $10 would get you camo or ghillie and a revolver. Nothing higher than that. And that would actually be a disadvantage for a fresh spawn. You become a target with other players assuming you're fully equipped.

  5. When I start to get bored I look for loners to follow. I try to just beat them to the better loot spawns and sometimes take warning shots at them when their being stupid. I've done this over 10 times now and only been spotted once. The dude knew I was following for over an hour but said he could never quite find me. That is, until he shot me creeping out of the pub in Elektro as he was arriving. Good times.

  6. I would use Dayz Commander but I get the ''Bad version, Server rejected connection'' error along with it, also I had the ''bad serial number given in setup'' before I found out playing Steam in admin mode stops it.

Go into the setup options for DayZ Commander and UN-check "run with steam" and you'll be set.

  7. Zen, I think you miss the point of this "game". It's not a game really, it's a modified sandbox mode of a game. Human nature is the game. People can do what they want. The "game" is nothing more than what you make of it. Do you think in a real apocolyptic world you could just run into a town and loot some shit?

If you want to be rewarded for following the same script as everyone else and doing only the things you're suppose to do, stick with consoles and your "made to win" games.
