Run both Arma2 and operation arrowhead to the main menu before you do anything else. <-- must be done or dayz mod wont launch when installed.. Download whatever mods you want to play through commander or Dayz Launcher (I prefer launcher as it's more up to date). If you use commander you can use that to find a server and launch the game and it will automatically enable the mod for you. With Launcher, you have to go to another tab to enable the mod you wnt to play. I hope I didn't miss a step trying to help. No one here wants to speak of Epoch because it's a mod of the mod and stole a LOT of players. Funny as it is since they got some things from the Epoch dev's to use in the dayz mod. Go figure.

Turn textures and stuff up so you use the gpu more. It should take some strain off your cpu. Good luck!

Some people see this game through rose colored glasses, some see it through crap colored glasses. Very few have one of each lense. I tend to at least partially agree with most of the rants I've seen but I choose not to add to them.

If you use a macro (or use something to keep w pressed) so you don't need a hand on the keyboard to run, having freelook on the mouse makes it much easier to get your nicotine fix or a couple bites of your sammich while still keeping your head on a swivel when making haste through the forest. ;) ...and I'm using a Corsair M65 now (the version with the ship logo :thumbsup: , NOT the gamer one. :rolleyes: ). It's a damn fine mouse so far.

I just tossed out my G500 for the above reason. OT, I bound an extra button to free look. Once you're use to it, there is no other way. :D

I'll never understand why so many people want DayZ to be some other game.

Dayz Launcher is the new commander, sort of. That's all I got. You'll find a lot more servers show up in launcher than commander nowadays.

That's not a problem on your end. :thumbsup: it's a server that hasn't had it's battleye file adjusted for an added script.

Also, keep in mind that 99.9% of servers out there aren't running the standard DayZ mod, but some modified version of it. You won't find a lot of "vanilla" DayZ servers unfortunatly. :\

I see absolutely nothing wrong with looting gnomes. I mean, this is DayZ after all.

Ok. There's no public hive anymore right? So I start on a server, kill 2 guys to gear up and head to NWAF (or anothe high z spawn). I spend a few hours in and around there killing z's. Good to go. I'm now a friendly player again. B) I've played that game on Epoch many times. The hero trader usually has lower prices. :D

Easy mode to hero? What about bandits using it as easy mode to stay in a survivor skin? :rolleyes:

Swap it to an [email protected] and a HD7850 1GB and I got decent fps. Big cities took a hit though. It will be very playable but don't expect awesomeness.

If it were up to me you wouldn't be able to run more than say 25 meters or so while carrying a full one Then you'd be restricted to walking speed. Be thankful the devs are more generous. :D
