Dayz launcher works good for me. It uses the steam files so no issues there. As much as I hate to say it, theres also survival launcher that works with both arma2 and arma3 including mods. Havent tried it myself yet but a lot of people seem to like it as its close to using commander.

Stop using dayz commander! It's outdated and hasn't worked right for a while now. Try dayz launcher or the ingame server browser as they use up to date game files..

Download DayZ Launcher and have it update the mod (Steam has been nothing but headaches for me with ANY ArmA game and mods). If you still have issues, post in the mod section of the forum and we'll get you sorted pretty quick.

Dayz Commander is outdated. Try DayZ Launcher and see if that helps. It uses up to date files.

See that part at the bottom of the window that says "View problem details"? That would probably help.

It's kind of an unspoken rule in Dayz where if you do not respond when spoken to, you die. Been that way for a long, long time now.

On top of what Boneboys said, unless they've changed it, your character is spawned before buildings so sometimes if you sprint before the game fully loads you can escape. It can take a few tries but you can get lucky.

System specs? <- should always be listed in a post such as yours. Monitoring temps? How old is your PSU? Enough video ram? Does it happen on every server? HAVE you tried different servers? Any anomolies in any other games? I could go on for dayz...

My tip? Enjoy this time not knowing what you're doing. Once you have the game figured out, you'll be back asking what to do after you're geared up.

Most everyone will say it's ok. IMO yes it undermines the game. People can communicate without anyone else hearing, where if you use direct comms anyone close by can hear you. If clans couldn't use 3rd party comm software they likely wouldn't play the game anymore. (I'd be overjoyed though)

I like to pick a random yard in some town and yell at people to "stay the F* offa my lawn and NO you can't have your damn ball back!" It's more fun if you have a friend on a rooftop somewhere just in case. ;)

This is what happens when you grant alpha access to the entire world. There isn't a facepalm large enough for this thread.

First, is your friend running off an SSD? a. Anyone can claim any fps, if you didn't see it, it likely didn't happen. Second, I've always received better performance with most graphics settings on "high" or better in every Bohemia game I play. Reason being is that they're VERY CPU intensive games so, the more work your GPU does, the less the CPU has to deal with. (a 4GB card is begging for high graphics settings btw) Third, you're talking about fps in DayZ. There seems to be no real rhyme or reason for ones fps compared to another. My roomie gets about 10fps more than me in cities with a MUCH lesser PC but I have a smoother play experience and it looks oh-so pretty in comparison to his game. (Both of us having settings maxed out) In closing, you're not doing too bad. I think almost everyone who plays this game can safely say "I can drop down to 15fps in cities". :thumbsup: Chasing FPS in DayZ is futile if you ask me. I've learned to just enjoy the view with everything maxxed out while munching on :beans: .

Go to the DayZ folder in your documents and open DayZ.cfg. Look for these: Resolution_W=1920;Resolution_H=1080; Render_W=1920;Render_H=1080; Make sure they match your monitors resolution. Hope that works!

Sounds more like a PSU issue to me than something to do with the game.

I played a couple hours on experimental exactly 2 patches ago.

Pretty sure this was a plan from the start. Not sure if it still is though. There's a script for mod like this.
