Since i changed passwords on this forum it doesnt remember me?
creature replied to Serious Stan's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
You don't get the little check box for "remember me" when you enter your password? -
Epoch allows you to tag people as friendly. It doesn't show anything on the map but they have a glowing orb attached to their wrist. I think they just added different colored orbs to help identify bandits and hero's as well which only makes sence since Epoch has a ton of different skins.

Should work fine. I can test it tonight.
-
You use to be able to place tents in buildings. Pretty sure that was stopped due to people using tents to block entry into buildings. It IS allowed on Epoch so you can hide safes in buildings.

While I don't have a problem with text in side chat, I think it should be a client side option to turn it off. Like von.

I would hunt him down everytime he is on the server. It would become my goal in life to kill him. Over and over again. If I didn't kill him, so be it. SHOW him you don't combat log.

Maybe he means suicide to get out of the Kamenka spawn? The answer would be; a server with a town west of Kamenka. I vote NO, for a special skin for average days alive. The Hero skin is enough of a target for grievers. We don't need the "Look, he's stayed a live a long time. Let's kill him for the lulz!" added into the mix.

Trying to get back into the swing of things..
creature replied to goofyomnivore's topic in New Player Discussion
The majority of players play on private servers. I played on a couple near full public hive servers last night. I've never seen so many people playing in the dark. -
It's not meant to be fun for everyone. The creator himself calls it the anti-game. IMO the "idiots that have destroyed gaming" are the people who want easy mode. Die and come right back where you left off with all your stuff. Follow the same steps everyone else took. "Here's your participation award" games. I personally miss games where you died a million freakin times trying to get through it. Games where you didn't have a hundred save points in case you died. Games you never "beat" because you simply couldn't. THAT was gaming to me. In a lot of respects even Dayz is too easy. I'll take dying 4 times an hour from infection over getting all the gear I need out of Cherno and then having nothing much to do.

A little girl. It was funny enough seeing "A little girl was killed". Better when "BigDogEliteSnYper was killed by A little girl".

Screen randomly fading into complete black.
creature replied to AntiHero (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
That's the weight system in epoch. You have to rest or you black out. Next update will change to shaking and blur effect much like severe blood loss. -
But I like to play during the day too. I don't want to spawn only at night.

"Error Creating Direct3D 9 Graphical Engine" Please help!
creature replied to Jinxrr's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
That has been on your post for almost 2 hours now. This post is like saying "Hey, I did all the windows updates, do you know why I got the blue screen of death?". I don't recall seeing that error posted recently but if you didn't search, I'm not going to do it for you. More info might help you find an answer. Did Dayz run before? New installation? Have you run Arma2 & OA? How are you launching the game? PC Specs? Windows version (Hey, ya never know)? -
I'll go ahead and vote for an average of about 40fps. Much higher some times, and much lower at other times. Still better than a LOT of other people get. Welcome to DayZ.

I like the idea. The greater the amount of things a player needs to contemplate, prepare for and do to stay alive, the better. There has been a lot of discussion about addiction as well and I hope that will raise it's ugly head in the SA. "I NEED to get to Berizino for some freakin' morphine so this damn shaking will stop!"

New server! bounty if you join in 2 hours from now!
creature replied to SwedishViking's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
No critique from me. A few suggestions never hurt. 1.Don't expect prospective players to research your server. List what map and mod you're running, any added scripts, extra cars, crosshairson/off, nameplates on/off, and starting loadout. For all I know you could be running something I don't have installed, ya know? Posting exactly how the name shows in commander is also a good idea. The more info you provide, the better your chances to land some players. 2. Don't feed the "hardcore" DayZ mod posters. If you wanto to run free giveaways, go for it. I don't personally do that or offer any "donator perks" but my server is usually pretty empty as well. The server list shows what kind of servers people want to play. In a nutshell, you need to post reasons why someone might want to try your server out, while keeping in mind that a majority of players probably already play on their favorite server. -
One Thing People Aren't Excited About in the Standalone
creature replied to JustThatEpic's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I imagine they will be included as default. I may be way off but I seem to recall Dean saying something like that. The thing I'm hoping to see go away was when looting it seemed everything in the room showed up in the gear menu, not just what was being looked at. I'll be honest, I'll buy the SA as soon as I can and I can't wait to test it out. I'm also NOT expecting to be as happy with it as I hope to be. It just seems as though both the mod and SA are leaning towards grouping up by forcing players to interact with eachother. Punishing the lone player is not good in the long run. Forcing interaction just opens the door up to griefing and backstabbing causing even MORE distrust among players imho. -
it would be great if we had slower players + zombies
creature replied to link_zl's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Maybe if you ask players nice enough, they'll slow down so you can aim.:D -
So you prefer to have the game do your aiming? There's a reason Microsoft quit the idea of cross-platform gaming. It's called the gamepad. In their own testing they deemed it inferior to kb & mouse. Personally, I hope it does come out on console. If for no other reason than it would prolly be PS4. I hate Microsoft.
