Lol. My bad for not noticing where you posted. The mod is even worse for FPS. It has most of the same settings so the video should still help a bit. Also, If you go with liquid cooling, you can overclock your processor to gain some FPS. I'm running my FX8350 @ 4.6GHZ with a Corsair H80i and my temps are where they were with the stock cooling @ 4GHZ.

The game hasn't been optimized much if any at all at the moment. This video may help you out some. It shows a couple ways to set it up and explains what the settings actuall do in game. I'm using the 2nd setup with a few minor tweaks to make it prettier. I'm running very close to the same rig as you but I'm getting a little better fps. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWuvexH4v68

Just wanted to take a stab at clarifying KOS misconceptions

As much as it pains me to type this. KOS being all the rage is the fault of ALL of us. We ALL told Rocket we didn't want punishment for bandit playstyle all this time. WE wanted to police ourselves. WE wanted everything to be "player controlled". "Make it hard so people will work together", we said. Are WE banding together to take out all the dumbasses that think they're 1337 players because they killed 5 people in a coastal town? -
If you want a certain button to do multiple things like the key, you have to bind it for each on the contoller. Just like they had to do setting up the standard controls. :thumbsup:

I take it that's the Arma 2 Chernarus map you've found? That's the only commercially available map I've seen. It's missing quite a bit from the DayZ game map which isn't completed yet. It would be nice if they eventually sold a map of Chernarus+ but that likely wouldn't happen until they're done adding/changing things.

The game timer idea is damn good. I like the idea of anything that will add value to the life of your character. Spray tags is good in theory, but it would have to be done where you would have to pick from premade images to tag things with. Otherwise Chernarus would be covered in swastikas, anarchy signs and dicks. :\

They're not really expanding the map, per se. They're just adding more habitated areas and changing things up a bit. The map is pretty big as it is. I'm all for bigger but I just don't see it happening.
