Unfortunately it seems to be hit or miss for a LOT of players atm. Some issues to due alpha, some to servers going online before they have permission to communicate with the database, etc... I've had good luck with sticking to just a few specific servers. That's about all we can do right now. -

The difference is public hive pve admin kick you for shooting a player. A pvp admin won't kick for NOT shooting. What stops people from gearing up on a pve server and then going to a pvp server? It's as bad as server hopping. BTW, a lot of people are losing servers without refund, not just pve attempts. Rightfully so.

Why? The booze is gone man! We can't have crossdressers running around Chernarus if there's no booze! I also wonder if the size of the player model actually makes a difference. I know if I were making the game, all player models would have the same hitbox to keep things even. Otherwise, you eventually have mostly Asian girls running around Chernarus. -

Uhmm.. yeah, I'm a guy so I also play one in DayZ. If you use a female character and speak to me with a male voice, you're getting shot. ;) -
Most of the other maps suffer an fps hit. Look at it this way, Arma was poorly optimized. Add the mod to that and it gets worse. Now add a custom made map (not made by BI) to Arma and DayZ mod and feel the pain. If you think Namalsk is bad, try Tavianna. Some of those towns are brutal on FPS. Opening inventory or being in a vehicle changes what's rendered, hence the increased fps. Hope that helped ease the pain a bit.

If you go into the graphics settings and back out, it should fix it. I have that issue every time I join a server. -

Provided the directories are correct, it's pretty close to my settings. Try checking the other 2 override boxes for the directories, and uncheck the steam options. You may have to restart commander. -

There are over 30 maps/versions of the mod that I'm aware of. All the info you seek is readily available all over the internet. Asking strangers for a complete history lesson on the dayz mod is a bit much don't you think?
