I guess the idea comes from development times.

Fanboy excuses. If he can't use numbers with decimal points I'm doubting he could count how many bullets he had left in mosin / gun.

So, I've had some problems with FPS in DayZ. Here are some of my findings. I played with my AMD setup first. Then ripped the computer apart and put it back together with some old Intel parts I had laying around. AMD SETUPSSD: SAMSUNG 840 EVO 250GB SSD SATA/600 TLCCPU: AMD FX-8350 8 4.0GHz Black EditionRAM: Corsair 8GB (2x4GB) CL9 1866MHz VENGEANCE PROGFX: [!Crossfire!] Sapphire Radeon R9 290 4GB (Hawaii PRO)PSU: Corsair RM 850W 80+ GoldCPU Cooler: Phanteks PH-TC14CSMotherboard: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 INTEL SETUPSSD: SAMSUNG 840 EVO 250GB SSD SATA/600 TLCCPU: INTEL CORE I5 3570K 3.4GHZRAM: Corsair 8GB (2x4GB) CL9 1866MHz VENGEANCE PROGFX: [!Crossfire!] Sapphire Radeon R9 290 4GB (Hawaii PRO)PSU: Corsair RM 850W 80+ GoldCPU Cooler: StockMotherboard: GIGABYTE GA-Z77-DS3H Z77 _____________________________________________________ AMD SETUP FPS-----------------------Video setting Custom:57 FPS (Stock clock. 4.0 Ghz with Turbo Boost 4.2 Ghz)61 FPS (Overclocked 4.4 Ghz with no Turbo Boost)63 FPS (Overclocked 4.6 Ghz with no Turbo Boost) Very Low: 60 FPS (Stock clock)Low: 40 FPS (Stock clock)Normal: -- FPS (Black Screen)High: 30 FPS (Stock clock)Very High: 25 FPS (Stock clock) INTEL SETUP FPS------------------------Custom: 68 FPS (Stock clock)Very Low: 94 FPS (Stock clock)Low: 63 FPS (Stock clock)Normal: 50 FPS (Stock clock)High: 35 FPS (Stock clock)Very High: 30 FPS (Stock clock) __________________________________________________ All settings is tested in 2560x1440 resolution.,So "Low" means low settings in DayZ with resolution changed to 2560x1440.Custom are the settings I feel good about. That I would like too use. Basically Low settings with Very High texture quality and some other crap. Both FPS test are made from sitting in the forest looking at the same-ish view. I was not in the exact same position but tried my best too make it fair. Anyway, just wanted too share my resaults if anyone was thinking about buying a AMD CPU for playing DayZ. Oh, and If any of the setups had an unfair advantage it would be the AMD setup. wich the OS was installed on and all the latest chipset drivers and what not installed. Then just replaced motherboard and CPU and still the Intel i5 whooped the AMDs ass with no change in OS or drivers. Conclusion:The Intel i5 made the game fun so much smoother. The FX-8350 would go down to 15-19 FPS in cities. But with the Intel i5 FPS does not drop far that low. It will keep the FPS higher in woods and cities. Overall the gameplay is much more fluid with the Intel i5.

You know that G-Sync will require special hardware in the monitor. So you will need too get a new monitor for G-Sync, and since the hardware is in the monitor AMD will be able too use G-Sync aswell. Tho, AMD cards of newer generations all have built in support for variable refresh rate. Wich is just what G-Sync does. I'm guessing Nvidia cards do not have this, thats why it's a hardware solution, but will also be backwards compatible etc working with all cards when the new hardware is in the screen. So, no. G-Sync will not make any difference what so ever.

000000000000000000.1% is the same as 0.1% Since 0000000000000 is not less than 0. If you type 0.000000001% that is less than 000000000000000000000000000000.1% You with me mister elite pro master? Anyway, i think this story is 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% true.

Both me and Terminal Boy showed you logs. I would give you a video, but recording in 60 FPS @ 2560x1440 will eat up my disk like a beast, and my 1 MBit/s upload line will be busy for a year uploading that to youtube. And, since this was not about "I have 60 FPS while recording" there is no point.

But that is not in Cherno :) I know you saw my FPS in the other thread where that little rat didn't think you could get 60 FPS in the wild. I'm not saying that. You can get stable 60 FPS in wilderness. No doubt, i have it. But now it was in Cherno. Where you can't get 60 FPS. And btw, I know where the locations are. Been playing the mod for too long. And, since I saw your hardware in that other thread aswell. And It's equal too mine in ways. I know you can't run throu cherno with 60 FPS stable. So lets just drop it. Thanks for sharing data for wilderness tho :)

I'm serious aswell. But yes, I get 60 FPS in the wild. Not in a city tho. Intel Core I5 3570K, SSD disk, 16 GB ram, crossfire R9 290 4gb. Stop trolling
-
What he means is "My computer is exactly like yours and I haven't checked my FPS but I'm guessing I have 60 FPS (40 in reality) and in Cherno 40 (15 in reality)."

Stop drinking coffee, start coding :(

I would recomend the Platronics GameCom 780 like someone already has. Cheap headset but with great sound for the money. The microphone is far better than any headset in the same pricerange aswell. The only thing that you do not seam to want is USB connection. Still I would recomend you buy these before any other pice of crap headsets like Steelseries or Razer. I've tried Razer headsets wich is just plain crap. You pay 90% for the brand. Accidently drop them on the floor and they break. Same with steelseries, no, worse. Totalt and utter crap. The Platronics GameCom 780 how ever. As I said, performes good and have dropped them 100 times, tripped on the USB cabel 100 times. Still working like new, no problem what so ever. http://www.engadget.com/products/plantronics/gamecom/780/

So where is that log?

I will accept a benchmark log from fraps when you run throu cherno. Benchmark should not be done in 640x480 with lowest possible settings on empty server. It's good for video/audio encoding and decoding. Also good when running VMware. Good for much more. Yes, I know the i5 cost tiny bit more. But that cost is minimal imo. Check the price difference just now, it's 22 GBP.

This is true, but we are talking small earnings in FPS here :) It DOES performe better, but not that much that I would throw away HT for everything else just for that minimum increase in DayZ. But good tip non the less :)

Steady 60 FPS? No one has that. Please use facts in this thread and not estimations.

The data is from ATLAS® http://atlas.arbor.net/ You can read more about it on the FAQ page of http://www.digitalattackmap.com -
This might have something to do with the internet being totaly trashed today? My guess. Yeah. Probably. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/161599-the-internet-is-breaking-down-zombie-apocalypse-inc/

Know it sucks, have been experiencing the same. You can see my findings and my perfomance in this thread: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/159972-dayz-amd-vs-intel/#entry1606304 You must be doing something odd. Had 90% load on all 8 cores on my FX-8350. Still crap perfomance tho.

I guess all sounds are from some FX sounds pack? If you actually made them all yourself that fucking awsome job. If not, I guess there are licens issues and such, can't just add them too the game. Anyway, if not your own FX great job, nice movies good ideas. If your own FX, I'm amazed and you are the master of FX.
