  1. I thought the global database and architecture would help in a way that such items disappearing would be doable from your side, as in taking out the item from everyone's inventory without needing to nuke everyone. Not particularly a fan of this move. Guess there is no other way

    Bandit/Survivor Morphing to be removed

That's a lie though. For example, a person that kills for the first time another person will have some psychic problems, if he's not mentally ill already. He would probably need antidepressants to take it. Would you include that? The fact that a player can turn into a puddle of tears because he killed another player? Not to mention that if you find a person starving, he will show signs of it, being a threat to you. No, the game can't display many details that on real life matter a lot. So it has to take artificial measures to help it.
  3. no one got caught here. Admit to get a scripted in weapon from a crate, which is just a silenced version of the M4 holo, YOU'VE BEEN CAUGHT REDHANDED lolol. Truth is everyone gets what they can without hacking. People dupe their shit up, their tents, everything. They're exploiting but not cheating. The thermal vision rifle... I agree, it's not nice (and pretty cheaty) to take it, but I think no one used it... just picked it up like you pick something out of the ordinary. But then again people using L85 are wallhacking with a super-rare weapon that got duped. That's how it works. So either 80% of the players are moral cheaters, or I don't know where they are getting their stuff from. I would have picked up that holo without knowing it didn't exist on SD version.
  4. Why is that? I wouldn't do it personally, but as long as it's not something that acts different than any weapon found ingame (well, it has a silencer and that's it right?), why would you bother. I mean, my morality would tell me not to use it, but then again there's people duping with tents to have their stuff forever, even if they die. So... how is exploiting game mechanics any different, ethically? hacker looted item. I dont like the idea of keeping those, since it getting stolen means it will get duped and eventually will be on the hands of many people. Still, we are not hackers, but I agree that it doesn't do any favour combined with some of the baseless claims around here.
  5. Ok. As a person who plays in US38 mostly, because of the community, I can't accept baseless claims such as "liar, you killed me with xxx". The hacked weapon was obviously taken from a hacker, which we are not friends of. You see, our server tends to be attacked frequently by them, and sometimes we even go for them, fullforce. So I can tell you that we don't hack, neither have any affiliation with hackers/scripters.

    Build 1.7.2 Rolling Update

great, my first character that lives, being a silent warrior that helps players instead of killing them and now DB wipe ;(

    Fairwell, had enough of this

But that defeats the purpouse of "anyone, anywhere". You're asking the game to have MMORPG elements from servers that host thousands of people. You cant ask for extensive guilds like that. I personally think that if magazines didn't replenish themselves on disconnect, people wouldn't be able to cling on their "OP" weapons forever like they do. Honestly i'm so happy with my mp5sd... sneaky killing infected without problems. If when I disconnect after every playthrough my ammo stays the same, I would have no ammo for it at the moment. So it's not a matter of the weapons themselves, it's a matter of being able to generate ammo out of nowhere.

    Bandit/Survivor Morphing to be removed

If we devs wanted to appeal to newbie casuals we'd still have skins. So who are they catering, player killer veterans that didn't want to be spotted on sight so they can still shoot first? Honestly, the idea that rocket had of giving a loud heartbeat sound to bandits (that don't know they are bandits or not) is probably the best idea. On long range, the same as anyone else. On close quarters... "there's something fishy about this dude."

    Disconnecting to avoid death

By the way, when people say they think that they just disconnect to prevent you from looting them, that's half of the story. When they connect to the other server and die, they will simply attempt to run and pick their own loot again. That's probably the real reason.
  10. Dunno, the multiplayer engine? The zombies? The item spawns? The player numbers? The current dayz code? Anything can contribute to worse fps than on singleplayer. You'd be surprised of how, for example, running a game without audio on can make your fps better. Because audio, just like everything that is being processed, needs the CPU. So... yeah, any of the above plus others I probably forgot/didn't know.

    IMPORTANT: Central Server was Dropped

Wonder how many people would apologize to rice if he didn't actually cheat after a double check. No one would. Internet, that's how it works.

    Disconnecting to avoid death

Durr, you're the kind of person who thinks it's okay to cheat when playing vs the CPU by what I'm reading. What we're saying is: no, it ain't okay. We all had those zombies running after us. You would be surprised that you can actually kill a horde of 5 zombies or so without being hit by simply turning, shooting, keep running, turn, shoot, keep running. Not to mention using the terrain to your advantage (interiors, ladders, terrain height)

    Bandit/Survivor Morphing to be removed

Well, shit. Then, we're arguing the same damn thing. I'd like to say it's the zeds fault. They're too damn easy to avoid or kill. (And it's no damn fun to run from them any more - I aggro fifty of them, then, can't find anyone to drag 'em to.) I'd like to think so, next patch looks like a step forward anyway. Its true that zombies have been too "easy" although last night we experienced something rather different, for whatever on this US server all the zombies were going mental like they had extended awareness and in greater numbers, the whole town must have emptied into this one church and we made the biggest pile of bodies i've ever seen, this continued across the fields. Point is that lastnight the PVP "issue" never crossed our minds and anyone else in the area wouldn't even think of coming near what was going on there, or most people anyway. We got like 150 zombies in one chernogorsk house. Like... they never stopped coming. Eventually, we got out of ammo.

    Disconnecting to avoid death

Well' date=' i hope this will be enough. Let those quitters taste it! [/quote'] Admittedly, I was KIND OF hoping for a system where you didn't lose control of your character. Games like Dark Age of Camelot are a shining example of stopping the DC issue, by having the command be a /quit instead of just an Exit button. The server then waits 30 seconds where, if you don't move, it kicks you out. This is what we've been suggesting for a week or two.

    Disconnecting to avoid death

If you can't get a person who stands still for 30 seconds before he can exit, you don't deserve the kill. It means you're a sniper far, far away and he hid into a building. If he got shot, he would need to heal up before even pressing leave, or that means 30 seconds of nonstop bleeding. So, he has to heal up first, then try to disconnect. I think thats enough time for a person to finish their prey... Unless, as stated otherwise, we're talking about long-range snipers that are nearly a kilometer away from town. Also, you can't try to disconnect with the aiming pose. The purpouse of this would be that your character is doing some sort of "packing" animation (like the one from using bandages). You can interrupt that but if a person strikes you, he would have the upperhand. However if it's someone from a distance, since you have the chance to rotate camera and see him coming, you can move and interrupt it. However, something has to be done with the proximity spawns, but that's something else.

    Disconnecting to avoid death

In fact, in other FPS games when you disconnect you lose the progress normally. Here disconnecting is the way to "save" yourself form progress loss.

    Disconnecting to avoid death

Nope, you got it wrong. It's an RPG simulation social FPS/TPS. In that order. This is a requested feature because it's NEEDED. It's REALLY NEEDED. Hey, want to roleplay a robbery without people dying? You can't! Because when you ask him for the items, he will simply disconnect. Pinpointed an aggressor and have him on a tight position? Doeeesn't matter, disconnect. You went moron-marathon-running with a trail of zombies? Doessssnt matter, yet again disconnect. Disconnect is the power of vanishing your body from timespace. I think that, at least, sounds important.

shooting on sight hardly average life time. 1: The player killers that do enough to modify those stats don't care if they're bandits or not. They are camping getting sniping kills for no pupouse at all (not even going after their loot). 2: As the poster above said, players are starting to adapt to the game. It has a learning curve. I died more the first day than in the week after.

    Disconnecting to avoid death

Exactly. Look around with right mouse first, to ensure there's no player around. find a bush. Hide inside. Wait 30 seconds. All cool. For some reason that means now that you're gonna be standing bait for the 49 players aiming at you. Seriously? Let's start asking aswell that we are able to open backpacks while running, because... you know... when I open it I have to stop and micromanage for 10 seconds and even more sometimes. I'm clearly going to be murdered! And I cant even aim or see my surroundings.

    Disconnecting to avoid death

    1. You would be able to see the attack before it happens. You can't pretend this game is COD, when you may not find someone in days of playtime. suddenly when you disconnect a makarov sniper is going to get you? Unlikely. 2. The server can know when you dropped the connection, and will disconnect you totally if you dont regain connection in 30 secs. The effect would be the same as point one. Except on point one they add the instruction of skipping the server wait time because they properly exited the game. It's possible to do and I believe it does it well. I remember a gaming community where people just decided to do /kill before giving the other player the kill. A 5 seconds delay happened, and it went from 60% of the people on a server doing it to nobody.
